Prodrive Reveals Refined Racing Simulator Ahead of British Grand Prix
Summary Ahead of the British Grand Prix,Prodrivehas unveiled an updated version of its acclaimed Racing Simulator, now enhanced with bespoke craftsmanship from some of Britain's most iconic artisans. Revealed atBang & Olufsen's Mayfair flagship, the 2025 model blends motorsport technology with heritage luxury. Originally conceived by ex-F1team principal David Richards and designed by Ian Callum, the simulator is more than a high-performance training tool; it's a centerpiece of sculptural design. The new edition deepens collaborations with British makers like Connolly for custom leather interiors, Vaughtons for personalized badging and Pendennis for a steam-formed lacquered wood exterior inspired by superyachts and grand pianos. The carbon-fiber monocoque chassis, floating within a lacquered wooden 'hoop,' encloses a 49' curved screen, motorsport-grade steering and an advanced pedal box that replicates the feel of modern race cars. Enhanced audio by Bang & Olufsen, standard with Beoplay HX headphones and optional Beosound A9 speaker, delivers immersive sound quality. With just a single power cable required for setup, each simulator commission is handled via a full concierge service and comes with a tailored Goodwool cover. Starting July, the updated simulator will be displayed atHarrodsand Auto Vivendi, offering racing fans a chance to bring home a slice of British motorsport luxury.

Ian Callum, the design chief of Jaguar until 2019, has teamed up with coachbuilders Wood & Pickett for a Mini restomod. Based on the Mk5 Mini Sportspack built from 1997 until the original car's demise in 2001, the restomod includes wide Wood & Pickett wheel arches, and new side sills. Ian Callum's Reiminaged Mini Is Our New Favorite Restomod
In a world where bigger is often better, it's nice to see the classic Mini continue to thrive. There's a new limited-run restomod available, a collaboration between Callum design, from famed designer Ian Callum , and the firm behind the Margrave Mini from the 1960s, Wood and Pickett. And the very first example looks excellent. The car is based on the Mk5 Sportspack Mini, but features several unique visual touches, such as the completely reimagined lighting housings. It also has a redesigned rear end, unique valances, and bolder wheel arches, which improve the car's aerodynamics and cooling capabilities. It rides on 13-inch Callum-designed alloy wheels with 8.4-inch vented and grooved brake discs. Photo by: Callum Design Powering the car is a "newly rebuilt" 1.3-liter "Stage 3 road/rally engine" good for 100 horsepower, with a retuned ECU and a "reengineered" transmission. The engine features twin-point injection and a "new performance cylinder head," while an upswept twin-exit exhaust system pokes out the back. Keeping things comfortable is a "road-tuned suspension kit." Inside, the Mini has a new dashboard that takes inspiration from Wood and Picket's Margrave Minis. It includes a row of analog dials, a small screen with Apple CarPlay , and a row of physical switches for the lights, hazards, and other vehicle functions. Each Mini is hand-built and costs £75,000 to start (around $103,000 at today's exchange rate), with no two builds alike.
