Vocaloid Hatsune Miku Coming To KL For MIKU EXPO This November
We've had a wave of announcements about K-pop idols coming to Malaysia for concerts and events, but what about Japanese artists? Fret not, as a lineup of J-pop acts is headed our way very soon, starting with the Japan Expo 2025 taking place this week! It looks like another hugely popular Japanese artist will be making her way to our shores later this year — and it's none other than the one and only, the iconic Hatsune Miku (初音ミク)! Here's what you need to know: On Tuesday (15th July), iMe Malaysia announced that the MIKU EXPO Asia 2025 will be held in Kuala Lumpur this November. For those unfamiliar with the event or with Hatsune Miku herself, this anime-style character is actually a computer-generated musical artist and one of Japan's most iconic Vocaloids. Since her debut in 2007, she has taken the world by storm, even selling out concerts despite not being a real person. She was also one of the artists lineup for the 2024 Coachella. Human or not, the love fans have for her is very real, and that's how MIKU EXPO was born. Organised by Crypton Future Media, it is a global concert tour that also features a range of sub-events, including exhibitions, workshops and club nights. It offers fans from all backgrounds the chance to come together and celebrate the vibrant, creative culture surrounding Hatsune Miku. 2000s OG Dancehall Icon Sean Paul To Perform In Malaysia This October
Do you recognise the familiar beat as you pass through the bar areas of KL that's been playing since forever? The iconic Jamaican singer who brought us club hits from the 2000s is set to light the stage in Malaysia with nostalgic beats and endless energy. Jamaican dancehall icon Sean Paul is set to perform live in Malaysia on 10th October 2025 (Friday) at Idea Live Arena, Petaling Jaya. Bringing his 2000s hits such as 'Temperature' and 'Get Busy', expect to be on your feet with a night of energy-filled anthems. The Jamaican singer and rapper had won a Grammy for 'Best Reggae Album' in 2003 for his 'Dutty Rock' album and was nominated for 'British Best of the Year' for his feature in 'Rockabye' by Anne-Marie and Clean Bandit. Outside of his music career, Paul is also an activist in climate change, where he attended the United Nations Climate Change Conference in 2015 and founded the 'Sean Paul Foundation' in 2020 to aid less-fortunate communities in Jamaica. 'Every time I get the chance to meet fans from all over the world, it's a blessing. I can't wait to come back to Malaysia. The support and energy from Malaysian fans is incredible', says Paul to Harian Metro. The 52-year-old singer had last visited Malaysia back in 2018 and is back now to unveil his newest track, 'Ginger', to awaiting fans. K-pop Sensation ZEROBASEONE To Hold First Concert In KL This November
It's the moment many ZEROSEs have been waiting for! Earlier today, K-pop group ZEROBASEONE (제로베이스원) announced their world tour – and Malaysia is on the list of stops! The boy group will embark on their 2025 world tour, 'HERE&NOW', later this year. They will kick off the tour in Seoul from 3rd to 5th October 2025 (Friday to Sunday) at the KSPO Dome in Seoul and tour several cities, including Bangkok, Saitama and Kuala Lumpur. The group's concert in KL will take place on 8th November 2025 (Saturday) at the Idea Live Arena in 3 Damansara. This upcoming show will be ZEROBASEONE's first performance in Malaysia since their debut in 2023. The nine-member group was formed through the Mnet idol survival competition program, 'Boys Planet', and has been making waves since their formation. Local ZEROSEs have been asking for the boys to perform in Malaysia for a while, especially after getting snubbed from being included in the group's last Asian tour. Nothing much has been shared about the upcoming tour so far. However, fans can expect high-energy performances and electrifying stages from the idols as they showcase their hit songs, including 'Doctor Doctor' and 'In Bloom'. Their last tour received tons of critical praise, so there's no doubt that ZEROBASEONE will up the ante with this upcoming tour. #SHOWBIZ: M Nasir: Man Senoi, 4U2C should discuss song performances for concert
KUALA LUMPUR: Music maestro Datuk M. Nasir has advised the hip-hop group 4U2C and composer Man Senoi to discuss their recent dispute. This follows a controversy concerning the group's intention to perform the composer's songs at their upcoming concert set for Sept 15 at the Idea Live Arena in Petaling Jaya. "Both sides have their rights; it's best to resolve things through discussion," Nasir said when asked to comment on Man Senoi's dissatisfaction over 4U2C's potential use of his material at their "WE 4U2C Live In Concert" event. "Singers who use a composer's song must first seek their permission. When a song is used, royalties also need to be paid to the composer," he explained at a press conference announcing his upcoming "Konsert Datuk M. Nasir Cipta 3" at the Hard Rock Cafe in Jalan Sultan Ismail, Kuala Lumpur. His concert is scheduled for Sept 27 at Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil. It was recently reported that Man Senoi and his wife, Mama Rap, alleged that 4U2C, a group popular in the 1990s, did not seek their permission to perform their songs at the upcoming concert. They claimed that 25 of 4U2C's songs were copyrighted to their company, Zman Production.

With a nostalgic 'Bringin Back Da 90's Flava' theme, the concert will feature timeless hits such as 'Fiona', 'Kami Rappers' and 'I Miss U', along with a surprise treat of three brand-new songs comprising one ballad and two upbeat tracks for fans who have long awaited their return. The group consists of Datuk AC Mizal, Aren, Yanz, Rinz, Lanz, Charlie and Azam. According to AC Mizal, this concert is a dream come true for all of them. "This is truly a dream come true.
