Work to improve Crawley bridge and A23 to last 11 weeks
Work to refurbish a bridge in West Sussex as well as improve traffic signals and drainage on a section of the A23 is expected to last 11 23 July, West Sussex County Council (WSCC) is set to start work on the Crawley bypass railway bridge and the A23 near the junction by Ifield Community College, which will both be works are expected to last until October, depending on weather conditions. WSCC said: "Extending the life of the bridge is necessary to maintain traffic flow on the A23 into the future."
The work will be coordinated in phases with most scheduled during the school summer holidays to keep traffic disruption to a minimum. Traffic management will also maintain the flow of traffic during any necessary lane or road closures."By using this opportunity to coordinate this essential work with our other works in the same area we can keep traffic disruption to a minimum," added WSCC.
