Milan are close to signing Italy international Samuele Ricci on a €25m deal from Torino, but the Rossoneri are planning to sign another central midfielder as well, with Ardon Jashari willing to move to San Siro. The Serie A giants made their opening bid at the beginning of June, as Football Italia exclusively reported, but they require a new proposal of around €35m, ideally as a fixed fee, to beat the competition. Luka Modric's next club is revealed, as director of European giant appears to confirm move on 'one-year deal' for 39-year-old Real Madrid legend
Luka Modric 's next club appears to be all but confirmed, with the legendary Croatian midfielder set to join AC Milan. Modric, who spent a dazzling 12 years at Real Madrid, is closing in on a switch to the San Siro, confirmed club director Igli Tare. The Croatian will turn 40 in September and it remains to be seen if he will be used as a regular starter, but he wants to keep playing to have a chance of going to next year's World Cup in the US. He is currently playing with Real on a short extended deal for the duration of the Club World Cup. 'We are ready to bring in Luka Modrić, we need new leaders,' Tare told Gazzetta dello Sport. He added: 'Modrić can be a key player for us and he asked about being competitive, winning titles… we are on it. 'I spoke to him in person and saw a guy who is really eager to be competitive. His arrival is crucial for a group that needs players like him, leadership 'The first question Luka asked me was: 'Will we be a team built to win the championship? He has won six Champions Leagues and wants to be a star player from the start. 'He is important for what he will convey in terms of mentality, leadership and professionalism. 'The fact that he is an AC Milan fan makes this story even more exciting, and it would be great for him to have a stellar season as at the end of the season is the World Cup,' he added. According to ESPN, Modric will sign a one-year deal and have an option to extend it another season. His salary is reported to be £57,000-a-week, with bonuses. Modric will bring a wealth of experience to Serie A and won everything during his time with Real Madrid. The playmaker helped Los Blancos to six Champions League titles and four LaLiga wins, also lifting the Copa del Rey twice.

AC MILAN have confirmed Mike Maignan will not be leaving the San Siro this summer. Milan have reportedly rejected an opening Chelsea offer for Mike Maignan, but the Rossoneri have also 'booked' a potential replacement: Torino's Vanja Milinkovic-Savic.
