Kerala KEAM 2025 results: John Shinoj tops engineering entrance, Anakha Anil bags first rank in pharmacy

John Shinoj of Muvattupuzha in Ernakulam district topped the Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical (KEAM) entrance test 2025 in the engineering stream and Anakha Anil of Pathiyoor in Alappuzha has bagged the first rank in the pharmacy stream. The results were declared by Higher Education Minister R. Bindu here on Tuesday (July 1, 2025). Hari Kishan Baiju of Cherai in Ernakulam is the second rank holder and B.N. Akshay Biju of Kakkur in Kozhikode is the third rank holder in the engineering stream. Hrishikesh R. Shenoy of Arpookkara in Kottayam got the second rank and Fathimathu Zahra of Kunnakkavu in Malappuram got the third rank in pharmacy respectively. B.R. Dhiya Roopya of Perumpuzha in Kollam (rank number 9) is the topper among women in the engineering stream while Hridin S. Biju of Nileshwaram in Kasaragod and K.S. Sabarinath of Manarcaud in Kottayam scored the highest among the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes categories, respectively. The Minister said that of the 86,549 applicants who had appeared for the engineering entrance test, 76,230 had qualified. Subsequently, a rank list of 67,505 applicants who had furnished the details of their marks was prepared. Of the 33,425 applicants who appeared for the BPharm entrance test, 27,841 figured on the rank list. The KEAM examination for engineering and pharmacy courses was held from April 23 to 29. Ms. Bindu said that the engineering rank list had been prepared applying the new normalisation process. This was implemented to ensure a level-playing field for engineering aspirants from the State syllabus, addressing their long-standing concern that they were at a disadvantage compared with their counterparts from the Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE) and Indian Certificate of Secondary Education. The students from State syllabus schools had complained that they were losing roughly 15 to 20 marks in the normalisation process when KEAM scores where combined with higher secondary marks, especially in core subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. This time, the first rank holder in engineering is from a State syllabus higher secondary school. Of the first 10 rank holders, five each are from the State syllabus and the CBSE. Of the 47,175 applicants in the State syllabus, 43 figured in the first 100 ranks. Of the 18,284 in the CBSE stream, 55 figured in the first 100 ranks. The Minister said that the admission process for BTech courses would have to be completed by August 14 in line with the academic calendar prepared by the All-India Council for Technical Education.

She appreciated the supervisors and invigilators for their support in lightening the mood and reducing exam nerves. Ridhima Piyush Goswami, 16, from Vydehi School in Bengaluru, scored an impressive 99.20 per cent in the ICSE exams, surpassing her expectations of 95 per cent. She dedicated 6 to 8 hours daily to her studies, balancing her academics with kathak, her passion for classical dance, which served as a stress-buster between study sessions. 'Balancing kathak and studies was key to my success. Dancing between study sessions relieved stress, while I dedicated six to eight hours to focused preparation,' she told The Indian Express. Although history and geography presented some challenges during her preparations, she achieved perfect scores in both subjects. 'I credit this success to consistent revision and effective note-taking,' she said. Since the beginning of Class 10, she has maintained a regular study routine. She performed well in her pre-board exams by focusing on understanding concepts, revising previous question papers, and learning from her mistakes. 'I used to work on previous years' papers consistently. I identified mistakes and worked on them accordingly every time I practised a paper,' she said. Aspiring to pursue PCM in Class 11, Ridhima aims for a computer science engineering degree through JEE Mains, driven by her inclination toward coding. Her tip for success? 'Keep concepts clear from day one—don't let them pile up,' she said. Aarefa Nakhoda, 16, from Bethany High School in Bengaluru, achieved 98.6 per cent. ICSE, ISC results: State students achieve 99% pass

Chennai: The question papers this year were tougher, but students from Tamil Nadu achieved near 100% results in both the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) and Indian School Certificate (ISC) exams, the results of which were declared on Wednesday. According to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), of 3,052 students who appeared for the ISC (Class XII) exams from the state, 3,051 cleared the exam, resulting in a pass percentage of 99.9%. Of the 1,646 boys who appeared for the exam, one was unsuccessful, while all the girls cleared the exam. In the ICSE (Class X) exam, of the 6,174 students who appeared, 6,171 cleared the exam, with a pass percentage of 99.95%. In this exam too, girls achieved a 100% pass rate. Teachers said both ICSE and ISC exams this year were challenging due to more application-oriented questions in the exam. Some said there were no frequently asked questions this year. "The multiple-choice questions were particularly tough as they asked case studies and application-oriented questions," a teeacher of an ICSE school said. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like AI guru Andrew Ng recommends: Read These 5 Books And Turn Your Life Around in 2025 Blinkist: Andrew Ng's Reading List Undo "Increasing the difficulty level is a welcome change. But it has brought down the number of centum scorers this year," said S Sujatha, principal of Vels International School at Injambakkam. "Despite the question papers being so challenging, the marks were not disappointing. Three students got 99 marks in chemistry and 99 marks in computer science from our school," she added. Last year, students who appeared for the Class XII exam from the school scored full marks in subjects such as biology and psychology. Ganesh P from Primrose Schools said that the questions were tricky compared to the previous year. "The council announced that it would increase the difficulty level well in advance. So, we trained our teachers and students," he said.
