The selection process involves a written examination followed by a Services Selection Board (SSB) interview. About CDS Examination The Combined Defence Services (CDS) Examination is a national-level test conducted twice a year to recruit officers for: • Indian Military Academy (IMA) • Indian Naval Academy (INA) • Indian Air Force Academy (IAFA) • Officers' Training Academy (OTA) The selection process includes a written exam, SSB interview, and medical examination. Sub Lieutenant Aastha Poonia becomes the first woman inducted into the Indian Navy's fighter stream, the Indian Navy said in an official statement on Friday. Breaking all the barriers and setting an example of women empowerment, she also received the prestigious 'Wings of Gold' from Rear Admiral Janak Bevli, Assistant Chief of the Naval Staff (Air). 'On 3 July 2025, Lieutenant Atul Kumar Dhull and Sub Lieutenant Astha Poonia received the prestigious 'Wings of Gold' from Rear Admiral Janak Bevli, ACNS (Air)," the official statement said. 'SLt Aastha Poonia becomes the first woman to be streamed into the fighter stream of naval aviation – shattering barriers and paving way for a new era of women fighter pilots in the navy," it added. Today, on June 17, 2025, the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will end the NDA 2 registration form 2025 application window. On May 28, 2028, the NDA 2 online form became available. The UPSC modified the application form filling procedure this year. Eligibility Criteria Educational Qualification: Applicants must have passed the Senior Secondary Examination (10+2 pattern) or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) and at least 70% aggregate marks, along with 50% marks in English in either Class X or XII. Body of Tanzanian national who went missing in Kochi backwaters found
The body of a Tanzanian national who had gone missing in the Kochi backwaters was fished out from the waters on Tuesday. Abdul Ibrahim Salih, 22, who was undergoing training at the Indian Naval Academy at Ezhimala, went missing on Sunday. A coordinated search was launched by the Harbour police, Indian Navy, the Fire and Rescue Services, and the Coastal police since then. Reportedly, he was set to return to Tanzania for holidays from Kochi and had a brief halt here before returning home.
