Congress government's ‘Sadhana Samavesha' to be held in Mysuru on July 19
MLC Yathindra Siddaramaiah on Wednesday announced that the 'Sadhana Samavesha' — a convention to showcase the achievements of the Congress government in the State — will be held at the Maharaja College Grounds in Mysuru on July 19. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and several other Ministers will participate, and lay foundation stones for various development works on the occasion, he added.
Speaking at a preparatory meeting with leaders and workers of the Varuna Assembly Constituency, Mr. Yathindra said that the convention will highlight the government's contributions, specifically to Mysuru city. The ongoing development works and the achievements of the State government over the last two years will be presented during the event.
He said that the Congress government has successfully completed two years in office, and has already held similar conventions at other places in the State to highlight its accomplishments. The July 19 convention will cover the Mysuru region.
Party workers from the K.R. assembly constituency, N.R. assembly constituency, and Chamarajanagar assembly constituency will also participate in the event. Beneficiaries of government schemes, party workers, and leaders from Varuna have been asked to attend in large numbers.
District Congress president B.J. Vijay Kumar said that the Chief Minister has directed the party's city and rural office-bearers to organise the convention systematically and make it a grand success.
In connection with the event, Minister in charge of Mysuru district H. C. Mahadevappa has convened a meeting, comprising Congress MLAs, former MLAs, MLCs, and other leaders in Mysuru on July 12.
Mr. Vijay Kumar also said that the foundation stone for the much-awaited Indira Congress Bhavan is expected to be laid in Mysuru in the last week of this month by the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister. He urged party leaders to mobilise support for the upcoming Zilla Panchayat and Taluk Panchayat elections as well.
