OTTAWA—Canada's Industry Minister said she is hoping to unveil in the coming weeks a plan to help automakers in Canada deal with hefty U.S. tariffs while meeting the country's mandate on electric-vehicle sales. Melanie Joly said Thursday that she recognizes the auto sector faces big hurdles with President Trump's 25% tariffs on foreign-made cars. Vehicles are Canada's second-largest export by value, with the bulk of them shipped to the U.S.
