Training programme for Corporation school heads launched in Coimbatore
The IC Centre for Governance (ICCFG), in collaboration with the Coimbatore Corporation, launched the Education Today, Society Tomorrow programme here on Tuesday. The five-day initiative is focused on training school heads and senior educators from Corporation schools in leadership and value-based practices.
Drawing on the approach of Initiatives of Change (IofC) India, the programme includes workshops, listening circles, and reflective exercises. It is intended to support school leaders in connecting personal values with professional responsibilities through a structured training process.
As part of this collaboration, ICCFG has taken up mentorship of 10 Corporation schools in the city. These schools will receive support over a three-year period, with the aim of strengthening teaching practices and school management systems.
A representative from ICCFG said that the focus is not limited to infrastructure but includes building an environment where teachers play an active role in guiding students and shaping the school culture.
The non-residential programme will run from May 13 to 17 with sessions scheduled from 9.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. each day. It is being attended by school principals and senior educators. Participants will be given certificates on completion.
