Wan'Dale Robinson, Andru Phillips put on receiver-cornerback show at Giants training camp
You got me. … I got you. That is the way it went down Thursday as two good friends and Giants teammates squared off at training camp. Advertisement Wide receiver Wan'Dale Robinson got cornerback Andru Phillips, and soon after, Phillips got Robinson. The first interaction turned out to be the play of the day. Russell Wilson tossed one of his familiar moonballs into the right corner of the end zone, intended for the 5-foot-8 Robinson — not a route he runs often. Phillips was step for step in coverage, the ball came down and it looked to be an incomplete pass as both players tumbled to the grass. Robinson, while sliding, got his hands under the ball and made the grab. Advertisement 3 Wan'Dale Robinson runs after a catch during a Giants OTA practice on June 12, 2025. Icon Sportswire via Getty Images He got to his feet and exulted with his teammates on offense. 'I love competing against him,' Phillips said afterward. 'He's so good. Sometimes I'm just like, 'Dang.' I thought it was incomplete. Just a helluva catch. That just pissed me off so bad. So next play, when that pick came back, I was just so locked in. It was cool.' Advertisement It sure was cool for Phillips. He ran across Robinson on a shorter route and intercepted Wilson's pass. 'How can he do that?' Robinson shouted to the nearby official, showing how Phillips used his arm to swing him around to get the ball. 'I undercut him and I just saw ball,' Phillips said. 'I'm going for the ball, so who cares?' These two players were college teammates at Kentucky, so there is a history, and a bond. 'We've been around each other so long, it's like, 'You got me.' ' Rookie Jaxson Dart fired an interception Wednesday on his first pass of his first team period in his first NFL training camp, the ball picked off by CB Nic Jones. 'You talk about it right after it,' head coach Brian Daboll said a day later. 'I mean, the defense made a good play. That's what these practices are for, for everybody. There'll be some good, there'll be some things we need to correct and make sure you correct them and move on.' Daboll added he liked the way Dart responded after the turnover. 'He's going to make those mistakes,' Daboll said. 'Everybody's going to make them. He did a good job coming back. You don't want to throw picks, but that's why we're practicing.' Nabers said surgery was discussed and the decision was made to monitor the situation. Go behind the scenes with Big Blue Sign up for Inside the Giants by Paul Schwartz, a weekly Sports+ exclusive. Lions player ratings as Owen Farrell shines v First Nations and Pasifika XV
The British and Irish Lions have maintained their unbeaten streak on their Australian tour, securing a 24-19 victory over the First Nations and Pasifika XV. Jamie Osborne's pair of tries, along with one each from Darcy Graham and Duhan van der Merwe, and four points from Fin Smith's boot, ensured the Lions' triumph. Triston Reilly, Seru Uru and Rob Leota scored for the FNP XV, with Wallabies legend Kurtley Beale contributing four points. Despite some players underperforming, a few may have increased the pressure on Andy Farrell ahead of this weekend's second Test against Australia, Wales Online. Here are the player ratings:. 15. Blair Kinghorn 6 The Scottish full-back shone in attack, making a couple of line breaks early in the first half, and his superb long pass set up Jamie Osborne's try just after the break. Kinghorn also managed to catch a few high balls under pressure but made some regrettable errors, including two intercepted passes. Subscribe to Inside Welsh rugby on Substack for exclusive news stories and insights from behind the scenes in Welsh rugby. He'll be disappointed that his careless pass was intercepted by Triston Reilly, resulting in a try for the Lions, squandering what could have been a golden opportunity. 14. Darcy Graham 6 The Scottish winger was forced off the field with a lower limb injury after just 16 minutes, but he made a positive impression during his brief time on the pitch. Graham posed a threat with the ball, managing to get past the FNP XV on several occasions and scoring a try. 13. Jamie Osborne 8 The 23-year-old put in an outstanding performance after being a late addition to the tour party. Osborne will be pleased with his two tries and was consistently a threat with the ball, while also successfully catching a couple of high balls under intense pressure. Jamie Osborne scores a try during against First Nations & Pasifika (Image:) 12. Owen Farrell (star man) 8 The Lions captain delivered a confident performance, his handling and distribution skills frequently outmanoeuvring the FNP XV. It was Farrell's chip over the defence that led to Jamie Osborne's first try, and he also assisted van der Merwe in scoring at the corner. His excellent all-round performance could potentially earn him a spot on the bench for the second Test. 11. Duhan van der Merwe 6 The Scottish winger is always a threat with the ball but was well-contained by the FNP XV defence. Van der Merwe scored the Lions' fourth try but struggled a few times in the air. It remains uncertain whether he has done enough to be considered for the Test matches. 10. Fin Smith 7 Smith performed well with the ball, his distribution skills creating opportunities for others, including a superb pass that led to Graham's try. His subtle offload at the point of contact also contributed to van der Merwe's try, and he made an impressive 15 tackles, the joint highest from a Lion. However, he missed a few conversions, which kept the FNP XV in the game, and there were a few errors. 9. Ben White 7 The Scottish scrum-half has been outstanding on tour, delivering another first-rate performance. White's box kicking was superb, as were his exits, providing relief from pressure multiple times. A remarkable 50/22 kick set the Lions up for their third try. 8. Henry Pollock 6 He found it challenging against a formidable FNP XV pack but managed to ruffle their feathers several times. Pollock put in a lot of effort but occasionally struggled to assert himself physically. However, the 20-year-old secured a vital turnover in the game's final moments, helping to clinch the victory. 7. Josh van der Flier 7 The 32-year-old made a significant contribution in defence with 15 tackles and was highly effective in the contact area. Van der Flier did a lot of unnoticed work and partnered well with Jac Morgan. Join WalesOnline Rugby's WhatsApp Channel here to get the breaking news sent straight to your phone for free. His passing, mauling and carrying skills are top-notch, but his presence on the field for the full 80 minutes doesn't bode well for his chances of playing in the second Test. 6. Jac Morgan 7 Morgan delivered another industrious performance, making eight tackles and seven carries during his 51 minutes on the pitch. His early withdrawal might hint at Farrell's plans for the weekend. The Welshman also earned two penalties thanks to his jackling at the breakdown. Morgan delivered a quietly effective performance, but it's still uncertain if he has done enough to secure a spot in the 23 for this Saturday's second Test. 5. Scott Cummings 7 Cummings put in a lot of work and was spot on when dealing with kick-off receipts. The towering Scottish lock excelled at charging down and his counter rucking caused issues for the FNP XV throughout the match. He also managed the lineout well and with Joe McCarthy battling injury, he is a strong contender for a bench spot this Saturday. 4. James Ryan 4 The tour has been disappointing for the Irish lock who struggled to make an impact in Melbourne. Ryan only made two tackles and three carries, and also received a yellow card in the first half. His chances of making the Test squad are slim. 3. Finlay Bealham 6 Bealham was solid in the scrum, providing a platform for the Lions to build from. However, the Connacht tighthead didn't make much of an impact elsewhere, with the PNF XV pack proving more destructive in their carrying game. He hasn't challenged the Test team. 2. Jamie George 7 The England hooker put in a strong performance. The lineout ran smoothly under George's guidance, and he made 12 tackles and five carries. George may have done enough to edge out Ronan Kelleher for a place on the bench this weekend. 1. Pierre Schoeman 6 He was generally solid in the scrum, although he was pushed back significantly once by Wallabies tighthead Taniela Tupou. However, he performed well around the field with nine carries and eight tackles. Replacements. 16. Ewan Ashman 5 He didn't have much time to make an impact but didn't do anything wrong. 17. Rory Sutherland 5 He didn't have much time to make a significant contribution but managed to secure the scrum. 18. Tom Clarkson 6 The Irish player performed well in the scrum and made an impression with a few powerful carries. 19. Gregor Brown 5 He put in a lot of effort but didn't make a huge impact. 20. Ben Earl 6 The Saracens back-rower made a couple of dynamic carries and brought some energy to the game. 21. Alex Mitchell N/A. He didn't come off the bench. 22. Marcus Smith 5 He had a few nice touches. 23. Garry Ringrose 6 He tackled well and carried hard, but a knock-on cost the Lions a try.

World Rugby announce final world rankings of the season as series to decide everything
The final World Rugby rankings of the season have been announced, with Wales ending the campaign in 12th place after finally putting an end to their dismal losing streak. After a brutal run of 18 Test match defeats, which stretched all the way back to the 2023 Rugby World Cup in France, Welsh fans were finally able to celebrate a victory earlier this month as Matt Sherratt's side overcame Japan in the second of two showdowns with Eddie Jones' men on tour. That win not only got a sizeable monkey off the backs of all those involved with the national side, but also ensured that Wales moved back up the global rankings, having dropped to a humiliating record low of 14th in the world following their opening tour defeat to Japan, who leapfrogged Sherratt's side alongside Samoa. READ MORE: Appalling England complaint upheld by World Rugby as investigation emerges READ MORE: Steve Tandy named new Wales head coach in major WRU announcement: Live updates The slip also meant that Wales briefly dropped into the third banding of seeds for the 2027 Rugby World Cup in Australia, the draw for which will be conducted in December this year. Sign up to Inside Welsh rugby on Substack to get exclusive news stories and insight from behind the scenes in Welsh rugby. The tournament in two years' time has been expanded to include 24 teams, with all of the qualified teams to be confirmed before the draw takes place. All of the qualified teams will be seeded based on their rankings at the end of this year's decisive autumn series, and with the competition comprising six pools of four teams, the seeding bands are broken down by every six teams. That means the top six teams in the world would be top seeds for the tournament, with those between 7th and 12th in the second banding of seeds and so on. Wales being outside of the global top 12 by the end of the autumn would likely prove disastrous, therefore, as they would be set to drawn in a 'pool of death' for the 2027 tournament with two of the world's top teams. The win over Japan, however, means that they head into their autumn international campaign in 12th place, just 0.64 ranking points behind Georgia and 1.57 ahead of Samoa. Wales could have dropped to 13th place had the Samoans recorded a shock victory over Scotland last weekend, but Gregor Townsend's side eased to a 12-41 win as they bounced back from their painful defeat to Fiji. A tough run of games now awaits Wales in the autumn, with three of the world's top seven sides - Argentina, New Zealand and South Africa - all heading to Cardiff, while a third clash with Japan is also part of the schedule. While it will depend on results elsewhere, a single win in the autumn could well be enough for Wales to remain in the world's top 12 teams and head into the next Rugby World Cup in the second banding of seeds. Elsewhere in the new world rankings, New Zealand have moved within 0.72 ranking points of top spot, with their 29-19 win over France seeing them edge closer to the number one spot currently occupied by South Africa. Defeat to the All Blacks has seen the French fall away from the global top three and closer to fifth-placed England, who now trail them by just 0.18 ranking points, while Scotland remain in eighth but move closer to Argentina in seventh after beating Samoa. Spain and Chile have also had ranking point boosts but the only positional changes come further down the table, with Zimbabwe moving ahead of Canada after qualifying for their first Rugby World Cup since 1991, and the Netherlands leapfrogging Namibia. Lions player ratings as Jac Morgan shines again but England star steals show
Lions player ratings as Jac Morgan shines again but England star steals show The Lions players were impressive all round against the AUNZ invitational team and could not have done much more to convince Andy Farrell Ben Earl (left) and Jac Morgan (right) were outstanding for the Lions (Image: PA ) Andy Farrell will be a busy man over the next few days trying to put together his starting XV for the British & Irish Lions' first Test against Australia next Saturday. This thumping 48-0 over the AUNZ XV was by far the most complete Lions performance since landing in Australia and a number of players put their hands up for selection. Wales star Jac Morgan was excellent but there were other less fancied players who also impressed. Here are your player ratings. Get the latest breaking Welsh rugby news stories sent straight to your inbox with our FREE daily newsletter. Sign up here. 15. Hugo Keenan 8 Played like a man who knew the full-back berth was up for grabs for the first Test following Blair Kinghorn's injury. The Ireland full-back was poor by his standards against the Waratahs last Saturday but he put things right in Adelaide. Sign up to Inside Welsh rugby on Substack to get exclusive news stories and insight from behind the scenes in Welsh rugby. Article continues below Outstanding in attack, always spinning out of tackles and hitting good lines, while Keenan's decision making is top class. 14. Mack Hansen 7 It is easy to see why Farrell thinks the world of the Connacht winger because he didn't put a foot wrong against the AUNZ XV. Hansen was supreme in the air, hit some cracking angles in attack and acted as a playmaker to put Duhan van der Merwe over in the first-half. Makes the game look easy 13. Huw Jones 8 Jones was outstanding in Adelaide and has put some real pressure on Garry Ringrose in the race to wear the number 13 shirt in the first Test next week. With Ringrose still recovering from concussion, he could well start. Sliced open the AUNZ XV defence on a number of occasions while his distribution was top class. Jones offers something a little bit different to the other centres in the squad and is perhaps more of a game breaker than Ringrose. 12. Sione Tuipulotu 8 Finished the game as the second highest carrier with 13 and claimed a try for good measure. This was by far Tuipulotu's best performance of the tour. The 28-year-old was explosive in the carry and manipulated the defence with his footwork and subtle handling. Another very close call between Tuipulotu and Bundee Aki for the number 12 shirt next weekend. 11. Duhan van der Merwe 7 The Scotland wing claimed a hat-trick and looked very dangerous with ball in hand throughout this one-sided contest. Van der Merwe ran with real purpose all evening and is a potent attacking threat but he does have flaws in his game and looks a bit uncomfortable when the ball was chipped in behind him. This has been an issue all tour and could cost him a Test place but it was still a strong showing. Duhan van der Merwe of the British & Irish Lions breaks clear to score (Image: 2025 Getty Images ) 10. Fin Smith 7 An assured performance from the Lions playmaker whose ability to take the ball to the line and manipulate defences played a big part in unpicking the opposition defence. Smith controlled the game well with his kicking and distribution really impressive while he dovetailed well with scrum-half Ben White. The 23-year-old also put his body on the line with some big tackles. 9. Ben White 8 Many had assumed Alex Mitchell would be guaranteed a place on the bench once Tomos Williams' tour came to an abrupt end due to injury but White has thrown a spanner in the works. The Scotsman was outstanding against the AUNZ XV and showed why many thought he should have been included in the original tour party. White was a constant threat with ball in hand, scoring a cracking solo try in the first-half, while his box kicking and decision making was first class. 8. Ben Earl 9 Outstanding performance from the Lions No 8. Earl caused havoc with his explosive carrying and wicked footwork which enabled the 27-year-old to make significant post-contact metres. Won two turnovers, made 11 tackles and carried the ball 14 times. Join WalesOnline Rugby's WhatsApp Channel here to get the breaking news sent straight to your phone for free Most pundits expect Jack Conan to start the first Test at No 8 but Earl may have done enough to usurp the Irishman. 7. Jac Morgan 8 Another industrious performance by Morgan who got through a mountain of work in defence and did a lot of the unseen donkey work which allowed others to shine. He set the tone in the first minute with a huge tackle on David Havili, although he got flattened by the giant Wallaby Lukhan Salakaia-Loto. Morgan was hugely physical throughout and scored high in most aspects of his game. The man from the Amman Valley couldn't have done more to impress Farrell but it is touch and go whether he makes the Test team. 6. Henry Pollock 7 We finally got to see the 20-year-old's pulse checking celebration in a Lions shirt after he worked hard to get his hand on the ball for a try. Pollock made 10 carries and 12 tackles while he also showcased his footballing ability with a wonderful chip and chase which very nearly resulted in a try. The only real blemish was a forward pass to Ben White which would have led to a Lions try. Andy Farrell, head coach of British & Irish Lions 5. Tadhg Beirne 8 The Irishman has been a bit under par on this tour but he was back to his best in this thumping victory over the AUNZ XV. Beirne made some significant metres with his carrying and put in 14 tackles while there was also a couple of turnovers. It is touch and go whether he makes the Test team but class is permanent and all that. 4. James Ryan 7 The Irish second-row has been a bit quiet on tour but he was effective for the Lions in Adelaide. Ryan put in 15 tackles and had a real physical presence about his, The 28-year-old ran the lineout extremely well and even pinched a couple of the opposition's throws. 3. Will Stuart 7 Stuart put his best foot forward for a place on the bench for the first Test, with Tadhg Furlong almost certain to start. The Bath prop scrummaged extremely well giving Aidan Ross a torrid time at the set-piece and did his bit around the park. 2. Luke Cowan-Dickie 7 It's such a shame Cowan-Dickie's evening was cut short after a nasty knock to the head because he was on fire. The dynamic hooker was excellent at the set-piece and carried with real intent to help the Lions onto the front foot. 1. Pierre Schoeman 7 The 31-year-old was extremely destructive at the scrum and put a big shift in around the park. He made seven carries and eight tackles while his lovely tip on pass put Ronan Kelleher over for a try. Replacements 16. Ronan Kelleher 8 The Irish hooker got a half of rugby after replacing Luke Cowan-Dickie and may have cemented his place in the squad for the first Test. Solid at the set-piece and very dynamic with his carrying. He also claimed a well-deserved try. 17. Andrew Porter N/A He did not get onto the field. 18. Finlay Bealham 6 Solid at the scrum and carried well upon entering the fray. 19. Scott Cummings 7 The Scottish lock helped continue the Lions' set-piece dominance and hit a good angle to claim a try. 20. Josh van der Flier 6 Not that much time to make an impact but showed up well while on the field. 21. Alex Mitchell 5 Not enough time to make an impact but looked sharp. 22. Marcus Smith 6 The Lions playmaker looked very good with ball in hand while his distribution put others into space. But missed a few conversions he should have nailed. 23. Owen Farrell 7 A quietly impressive cameo from the England legend. Article continues below There were some nice touches of the ball from Farrell who created Henry Pollock's try with a neat kick through while his distribution was excellent.
