New Sandakan Police Chief

By: Winnie Kasmir Text Size: SANDAKAN: Former Head of the Integrity and Standards Compliance Department at the Sabah Contingent Police Headquarters (IPK), ACP George Abd Rakman (right), has been appointed as the new Sandakan District Police Chief. He replaces ACP Ahsmon Bajah who has been transferred to IPK Sabah. In the interim, the position was held for 52 days by Deputy Superintendent Ramasamy A/l Kuppan. The handover ceremony was held at the Sandakan District Police Headquarters (IPD) on Monday, witnessed by Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Jauteh Dikun (middle). In his speech, George expressed excitement to return to serve in the district, having last been posted to Sandakan in 2010. He expressed hope that all officers would give their full cooperation and continue providing the best service to the community. 'I want us to function as a strong team, always open and ready to embrace new innovations, while upholding our integrity as police officers. 'This is not only important for maintaining the good name of the force but also for the wellbeing and progress of the Sandakan district,' he said.
