KPFF chief pays tribute to Burhan Wani

Paying rich tributes to freedom fighter Burhan Wani, International Kashmir Peace Forum France (KPFF) Chairman Zahid Hashmi said that Wani was the icon of the ongoing liberation movement in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). His martyrdom has given new life to the ongoing right to self-determination movement since 2016 when he was martyred by Indian occupational troops. Every year on July 8, people of Kashmir and Pakistan across the globe and Line of Control pay glowing tributes to Wani. Hashmi said the Indian government has tried a lot to suppress the right to self-determination struggle of Kashmiris through its military might. Even today, the Kashmiris in IIOJK are fighting for their rights, and even senior citizens and elders are not being given passports and travel documents for Haj and Umrah, he added. The KPFF chairman said India has always maintained an oppressive regime. By abrogating Articles 370 and 35A New Delhi has snatched away the Kashmiris' right to self-determination. The August 5, 2019 will always be remembered as a black day in the history of Jammu and Kashmir.

Pakistanis, Sikhs express solidarity with Kashmiris

PARIS: Pakistani and Sikhs jointly organised an event to express solidarity with the people of the Indian-Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) on Wednesday. The event was organised by the International Kashmir Peace Forum France (IKPFF). In their speeches, the speakers emphasized that the purpose of February 5th is to express solidarity with our Kashmiri brothers in IIOJK and raise our voices against the atrocities being inflicted upon them. They reminded the people of Jammu and Kashmir that they are never forgotten, and that they will always stand with them. Addressing the gathering, Zahid Iqbal Hashmi, President, IKPFF, paid tribute to the brave people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir and praised their over seven decades-long struggle for the right to self-determination. He stated that India's atrocities cannot stop the Kashmiris from demanding their fundamental rights in line with the United Nations Security Council resolutions. He assured that the Kashmir issue will continue to be raised on all international forums, including the United Nations and Human Rights Council, and the attention of global leaders will continue to be drawn towards the plight of the Kashmiri people. Hashmi expressed concern over India's atrocities and reaffirmed his commitment to continuing the struggle for the right to self-determination. On this occasion, Sikh leader Man Singh also spoke, calling Narendra Modi the "butcher of Gujarat" and "a murderer of humanity." He stated that Modi's face has now been exposed worldwide, as he continues to commit oppression against minorities, both in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and in India. He reiterated his commitment to continue providing diplomatic, moral, and political support to the just struggle of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. At the conclusion of the event special prayers were offered for the elevation of the martyrs' ranks, the swift recovery of the injured, and for the freedom of Kashmiris.
