Iran sets new terms for shipping enriched uranium stockpiles abroad

Iran's permanent representative to the UN has noted that any possible transfer of the country's enriched uranium would be contingent on receiving yellowcake in return read more The Iranian Ambassador to the UN has said that Tehran would consider exporting its enriched uranium stockpiles globally and allow foreign investments in its energy sector, provided it reaches a deal with the US first. In an interview with Al-Monitor, Iran's permanent representative to the UN, Amir Saeid Iravani, said, 'Should a new agreement be concluded, we would be prepared to transfer our stockpiles of 60 per cent and 20 per cent enriched uranium to another country and have them transferred out of Iranian territory.' STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD Iravani's comments came after Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi suggested that a nuclear deal with the US might be off the table if President Donald Trump keeps disrespecting the country's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khamenei. Trump took potshots at Khamenei, saying that he would have faced 'an ugly death' if it were not for the US administration that spared his life. More from World Major US cities, Israel on high alert after strikes on Iranian nuclear sites Meanwhile, the UN envoy has noted that any possible transfer of the country's enriched uranium would be contingent on receiving yellowcake in return, a concentrated form of uranium essential to the nuclear fuel cycle, though it must undergo further processing before it can be used as reactor fuel or in nuclear weapons. He added that another option through which countries can procure Iran's enriched uranium could be under the 'IAEA seal', but that depends on the progress of negotiations, as Iran has already passed a bill suspending cooperation with the nuclear watchdog. Iran is open to 'collaborate with all countries in our region that operate nuclear reactors, whether on issues of reactor safety or the supply of reactor fuel,' as long as it serves as a 'complementary initiative' and is not a substitute for Iran's own domestic nuclear program, Iravani said. Trump had said a few days ago that Iran and the US would hold nuclear talks as soon as next week, teasing the possibility of a deal even after boasting that recent US strikes had crippled the Islamic republic's atomic programme. Iranian Official holds Israeli entity fully responsible for crimes in killing children in Iran

New York - Saba: Amir Saeid Iravani, Iran's Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations, stated that the repeated pattern and policies of the Israeli entity in killing children—this time targeting children in Iran—hold this entity fully responsible for its crimes, particularly its policies and practices of targeting children. According to Iran's Tasnim News Agency, Iravani added during his speech on Thursday (local time) at an open session of the UN Security Council titled "Children and Armed Conflict" that the world has witnessed, with sorrow and anger, the recurrence of the same pattern of killing policies pursued by the Israeli entity, this time in Iran. He stated that this entity, as part of its brutal aggression against his country since June 13, has deliberately targeted civilians, killing dozens of children, including infants as young as two months old. The Iranian Ambassador to the UN pointed out that the horrific crimes and widespread, systematic attacks carried out by this occupying entity in the region are escalating, representing an urgent warning to the international community. These actions clearly demonstrate the serious danger and threat posed by the Israeli entity to the lives, safety, well-being, and security of children. Nevertheless, this entity will bear full responsibility for its crimes, especially its policies and practices targeting children. Whatsapp Telegram Email Print

Awkward Moment At Trump Presser: Rubio Bursts Into Laughter After Reporter's 'Daddy' Question

Iran-Israel New War Erupts At UN; Tehran 'EXPOSES' U.S. For BOMBING Nukes | 'Master Of Lies' Iran's envoy to UN rejected the presence of Israel at Security Council meeting in New York. Saeid Iravani insisted that the attacks on its nuclear facilities had 'no legal basis.' Iravani added that while Tehran complies with atomic regulations, Israel remains "the region's only undeclared nuclear-armed entity and non-party to the Non-Proliferation Treaty," refusing International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspections and monitoring. "If there were a Nobel Prize for deception, the Iranian regime would win it every single year. It has broken every commitment it has ever made," responded Israeli Ambassador Danny Danon. He proclaimed that the IAEA is 'completely blind' as Iran enriches uranium to 60% with 'no civilian application', stating that all the nuclear work talks were 'a framework for deception.'
