Raise a glass in style! Bushmills and Malbon's new capsule collection is a hole-in-one - and it's selling out fast
Daily Mail journalists select and curate the products that feature on our site. If you make a purchase via links on this page we will earn commission - learn more As someone who loves watching golf, and drinking whiskey, I was pleasantly surprised when the iconic Malbon Golf (worn by professional holders worldwide) teamed up with Bushmills Irish Whiskey for a limited edition collaboration. The world's oldest licensed distillery released a collaboration with Malbon last year, so it was no surprise when they decided to release a second capsule collection this year. FESQUE BUSHMILLS HOODIE Bushmills and Malbon have come together for another capsule collection — and it's already selling out. Get this cotton hoodie embroidered with both the Bushmills and Malbon logos, and be the talk of course at your next golf game. $168 It's no secret golfers love the 19th hole — a cheeky way of describing a post-game drink after a long golfing session. And, it's also no secret that many choose a dram of whiskey as their elixir of choice, and if single malt whiskey is your pick, chances are, you're reaching for a bottle of Bushmills. This collection celebrates exactly that marriage, and introduces eight new apparel options, including sweatshirts, T-shirts, and of course a golf cap. Each piece blends contemporary plaid with classic silhouettes and designs, evoking the rugged beauty of the Irish coast and blending it artfully with modern flair. One of my favorite pieces is the FESQUE BUSHMILLS HOODIE, made with cotton and featuring a giant plaid printed Bushmills logo on the back. The sweatshirt is plush and warm, and even features an additional embroidered logo on the front left chest. It's available in various sizes and in a muted grey shade, perfect for when temperatures drop in the late summer evenings. That's not all though — there are a lot of great products available to shop from the Bushmills x Malbon collab, and we rounded up a few of our favorites below. Note, a couple options have already sold out, but you can get on the list for when they're back in stock.

Warnings issued over painful weever fish as weather improves
The National Poisons Information Centre of Ireland has issued a warning over the dangers of weever fish around the coast. There have already been dozens of reports of bathers being stung by the dangerous tiny fish from beaches up and down the country. Advertisement With the weather expected to get better in the coming days, more and more people will flock to the coastline. The tiny fish have sharp spines containing venom on their dorsal fin. They are found all parts of the Irish coast but only in sandy areas, usually in warm shallow waters in the hour before and after low tide. Unlike most fish, they have no swim bladder, meaning that they sink to the bottom as soon as they stop swimming. Advertisement They are, therefore, difficult to see because they spend most of their time buried under the sand. Standing on a weever fish results in immediate intense, burning pain with the most intense pain coming in the first two hours. The painful sting can also result in swelling, numbness and warmth. The NPIC this week issued a warning to people to beware of the tiny predator and were inundated with comments from people across the country telling of their frightening experiences. Advertisement Therese Kavanagh revealed "Stood on one of these in Kilmuckridge in Wexford a few year back oh good Jesus the pain is awful, I'd never heard of weaver fish at the time but thankfully my neighbour did and knew exactly what to do when she seen my foot. "Put swim shoes or crocs on the kids going in the water and don't let kids sit at the shoreline/ shallow water this is where they are found most" Robert Alan said "Stepped on one of these on Achill Island and it's not fun! Thankfully the lifeguards knew what it was straight away and stuck the kettle on." Ross Stewart said "It's agony. Get spiked at ten years old at Brittas Bay. Will never forget the pain." Advertisement The NPIC has issued a list of guidelines for people to follow if they are stung by the tiny pest. People should: * Seek assistance from a lifeguard, if available. * Submerge the affected limb or wound in hot water, as hot as can be tolerated for up to 90 minutes or until pain is easing. * As the sting can result in numbness, immerse the unaffected limb too, as this may prevent inadvertent scalding. * Cold applications may worsen the discomfort. * Paracetamol can be considered to relieve pain. Care should be taken when pain relief is given that thermal burns do not occur due to the effects of the pain killer masking the temperature of the water used. * The puncture site should be examined and embedded spines removed. * Seek medical attention from a doctor as a tetanus and/or antibiotics may be required. * Call the NPIC on 01 8092166 if you stand on a weever fish.

Japan expresses concern over security of subsea cables off the Irish coast
Japan has expressed concern about the security of subsea cables off the Irish coast, seeking reassurance from the Taoiseach that the Government was taking adequate steps to protect them. During a meeting in Tokyo on Wednesday, prime minister Shigeru Ishiba also raised the issue of cybersecurity . 'I explained to him that two years ago we had a national forum on modern-day security challenges, and how we saw our priority as protecting subsea cables, developing stronger resilience there, and also in terms of cybersecurity,' Micheál Martin said after the meeting. 'We both agreed that we would continue that conversation because in the world of cybersecurity, collaboration is essential, as he said himself, and we agree with that. I think our officials will engage further in terms of expertise and knowledge around that cybersecurity space.' Japanese companies have doubled their footprint in Ireland over the past decade with significant investments in technology, life sciences, financial services and engineering. Mr Ishiba referred specifically to the activity of Russian fishing vessels close to the interconnector between Britain and Ireland and to subsea cables used for data transmission. READ MORE 'He said that Ireland was a very important technology centre with significant traffic conducted through those subsea cables,' the Taoiseach said. 'I indicated to him that we have taken quite a number of measures. We have a national cybersecurity centre. We have an individually tailored plan agreed with Nato , for example, in respect of cybersecurity co-operation and in terms of subsea cables. And also we're part of the Pesco projects within the European Union in terms of cybersecurity and again, subsea cables, building up expertise and knowledge.' The Taoiseach opened the meeting by reaffirming Ireland's commitment to nuclear disarmament and the belief that war and conflict should be avoided 'at all costs'. He told Mr Ishiba that his visit to Hiroshima on Friday would reflect this outlook. 'We are two peace-loving nations who believe in avoiding war and conflict at all costs. And I want to remember those who suffered and the survivors, and going there in all solemnity to reflect our commitment to nuclear disarmament and nuclear non-proliferation,' Mr Martin said. The Taoiseach was welcomed to the Kantei, the prime minister's glass-walled headquarters, by a colour guard from the 302nd military police company of the Japan ground self-defence force. Wearing white dress uniforms, a military band played Amhrán na bhFiann and the Japanese national anthem while the colour guard presented arms with bayonets fixed. Mr Ishiba served the Taoiseach green tea during the meeting, remarking that he had heard about Mr Martin's fondness for it. After the formal meeting they had lunch including Wagyu beef with colcannon, served with Guinness, while the music of Enya played in the background. Mr Ishiba is under intense political pressure in advance of elections to Japan's upper house on July 20th, with polls suggesting that support for his Liberal Democratic Party has fallen by 20 points since the last such election in 2022. Donald Trump this week threatened to impose a tariff of up to 35 per cent on Japanese goods if Tokyo does not agree to import cars and rice from the United States. Later on Wednesday, with Japan's Princess Takamado among those present, the Taoiseach opened Ireland House in Tokyo, a landmark building housing the Irish Embassy and State agencies the IDA, Enterprise Ireland and Bord Bia. At a cost of more than €20 million, it is the biggest single capital project the State has ever undertaken. 'The relationship between Ireland and Japan is a very special one. Ireland House Tokyo stands as a testament to that relationship and a symbol of the economic, cultural, and social values that we share,' the Taoiseach said.
