Love Island couple ignite 'fakery' row as ITV comes under fire

One of television's most popular reality shows is coming under fire today, after it emerged one of the Love Island couples knew each other before appearing on the ITV dating show – and had even hooked up together before the Island. Tuesday's episode of the love show saw a 'recoupling ceremony', which saw a number of the Islanders swap partners. Helena picked Harry, Meg coupled up with Dejon, Shakira decided to choose Conor, Yasmin picked Jamie and Irish Love Island contestant Billykiss went for Boris. Love Island has come under fire. Pic: ITV Toni shocked everyone by choosing ex Harrison, which then meant that her ex Cach had to couple up with Emma and Harrison's girl Lauren ended up with Ty. Still with me? It gets even more confusing. Reports in The Irish Sun today say that Ty and Lauren were already 'aquainted' after they took part in the 'unfilmed' rehearsal week a few months ago, which then meant they were invited back to take part in Casa Amor. A source told the paper, 'Ty and Lauren are acting like they've only just met but that's far from the case'. Lauren and Ty. Pic: ITV/Shutterstock 'They hooked up during the dry run, which is where a fake cast moves into the villa to test out everything from camera angles, to kitchen appliances and run-through challenges, and then they even saw each other on the outside before ITV invited them back to be part of Casa Amor'. 'Now they're both in the main villa pretending like none of this ever happened but it's all entirely fake and ITV know about it. Lauren in the Love Island villa. Pic: ITV/Shutterstock 'Viewers deserve to know it's all a huge sham.' The pair were both introduced into the series earlier this month after trying to turn some heads in the sister villa.

Love Island star Andrada on the war path after villa recoupling

Irish Love Island star Andrada Pop is planning on dropping a bomb in the villa tonight as she is set to reveal to Meg her conversations with Dejon. The Miss Bikini Ireland contestant is reeling from the fallout of the recoupling and the new revelations uncovered. She decides to pull Meg for a chat tonight to discuss Dejon and his antics in Casa Amor. Coming clean about her experience with Dejon, Andrada shares: 'We've got a really good connection and everyone saw it… It's stronger than what he has with you, it's very obvious.' Making it clear about her intentions now she's in the Villa, she continues: 'I will still chat to him.' Meg says of her Casa Amor experience: 'From my side, no one compared to D...' Andrada continues: 'He said he hasn't had a connection with any of the other Bombshells like he's had with me. "He said I'm the best bombshell in there for him.' Meanwhile, after reflecting on her earlier conversation with Andrada, Meg takes Dejon to the Terrace to deliver an ultimatum. 'If you were genuinely all for me, as soon as you walked through the door after Casa, you'd want to close things off. Obviously I feel a certain way about you but you don't feel it back.' She adds: 'You literally need to decide today. I'm not going to sit here and be in a triangle. '... My bottle says Meg, not mug.' Elsewhere, after both choosing to recouple with new Casa Bombshells, Toni and Harrison reunited face-to-face. Harrison tells Toni: 'I'm happy for you.' 'I'm happy for you…' she sarcastically returns. 'My heart is beaming and gleaming.' Unable to resist, Harrison shoots Toni a knowing look whilst licking his lips. Referring to Lauren, Toni warned him: 'Stop looking at me and licking your lips… you're going to make your girlfriend jealous.' 'I'm glad you're still here though, I would've hated to see you go .' 'You would not be the reason I go home, I'll tell you that right now,' Toni quickly responded. Pushing his luck again, Harrison teased: 'Did you miss me? Is it nice to see me? The next day, Helena and Emma clear the air about unfinished business by the Firepit. Intrigued, Helena asks Emma: 'Did you come in here for Harry?' 'No,' Emma responds. 'You don't for one second need to worry about that.' She tells Helena what she really thinks of her situation with Harry: 'I think there's been things which I really don't agree with how you've carried yourself… Sneaking off to the Hideaway behind Shakira's back…' Helena replies: 'Do you not realise that every time I come to the Firepit, I get slam-dunked for his behaviour?' 'But why are you tolerating that?' Emma retorts. 'It's a pattern and you just keep taking him back, he's not worth it.' She adds: 'He thinks he can get away with murder and no offence, you're kind of letting him.'

Irish Love Island stars hit with claims they knew each other before appearing on the show

It comes days after Megan Forte Clarke was dumped from the Spanish villa. Irish Love Island stars Megan Forte Clarke and Conor Phillips have been hit with claims that they knew each other before appearing on the ITV dating show. It comes days after Dubliner Megan was dumped from the Spanish villa, just as they were getting to know one another. A video emerged on TikTok showing the pair at the same nightclub, long before they appeared on the TV show. In one picture, Megan can be seen posing with a friend, while another shows Conor supposedly at the same club, on the same night. 'Another photo of Megan and Conor at the same place btw proving they was together in real life' one person posted in the comments. 'They live in the same place,' added another. However, a third was not convinced: 'Even if it was don't think them being seen in the same venue means much.' Megan vowed to wait for Conor as she bid farewell to the Munster Rugby star. 'Will you wait for me?' he asked her. 'Yeah, I'll wait for you,' she responded. Following her departure, Conor broke down in tears, telling fellow Islander Ben 'I look at her like a girlfriend on the outside.' 'I hand on heart do not think that anyone is going to come through that door that I fancy more than Megan.' Before the show began, the 25-year-old said he was looking for a 'dominant woman.' 'Someone who is really sure of themselves, ambitious, a bit of a go-getter and good craic. I like dark eyes and I don't mind a dominant woman.' When asked if he would be hired or fired by presenter Maya Jama based on his flirting skills he said 'definitely hire.' 'I ask girls if they want to go halves on a baby,' he said. 'It doesn't work, but it gets them laughing. It's an ice-breaker, not a serious question of course!' The Limerick man said his biggest ick was someone who was 'too needy'. 'I like someone to be independent and do their own thing and then we come together and do our thing.' When asked to finish the statement 'You're a 10 but…', he confessed: 'I don't like to answer to anyone else. 'I like to do my own thing. It's something I'm working on for a relationship. Hopefully I've improved!' 'Someone who doesn't take themselves too seriously and has a sense of humour. If they're not bad looking, that's always a plus,' she said. 'I love a boy that's a bit pasty, like Timothée Chalamet. I don't mind scrawny, or a bit of a 'dad bod'. 'I'm 5ft1 so any height really.'

Love Island's Irish star Megan is set for big things, says her former drama teacher

Stage school coach says TV show will be stepping stone to bigger things for Megan Forte Clarke. Megan Forte oozes talent on stage, according to her drama school trainer Rob Murphy, who says he was mesmerised by her performances A stage school owner who trained Irish Love Island sensation Megan Forte Clarke and gave her her first break last night said: 'I always knew she was going to be a star'. Rob Murphy, who runs Dublin's Dramatic Action stage school and is famous for playing 'Buffy' in Alan Hughes' annual Christmas panto, also predicts Megan and her beau on the show, Tommy Bradley, are set to be 'the next Molly-Mae and Tommy'. 'She has Italian blood and so does Tommy. They're both so good looking,' Rob told the Sunday World. 'We are absolutely thrilled for her. I do think her and Tommy could be the next Molly-Mae [Hague] and Tommy [Fury], there's something there and it seems quite genuine. 'I do think they are going to be the next big thing. 'They are really, really cute together and she is not playing a character, that is who she is.' Megan Forte and Tommy Bradley When jokingly asked if he might take a leaf out of Cilla Black's book and buy a hat, he replies: 'A hat? A Las Vegas show piece. Buffy will be there!' Rob managed to see the first two episodes of the series before flying to London on Wednesday with more than 40 of his stage school class for their annual trip to the British capital. 'I think she is absolutely brilliant. She has really shown how down to earth she is with her reaction to things, her facial expressions,' he said. 'I think she has been herself. It's great to hear a Dublin accent in there – and a really authentic Dublin accent. She is flying the flag and flying it well.' Rob runs his stage school classes in several parts of Dublin, including in 24-year-old Megan's native Finglas, located on the city's northside. 'She joined the stage school ten years ago as a little nipper,' he recalls. Tommy Fury and Molly-Mae Hague 'We have a class in Finglas every Saturday with our stage school, she's from that area. I remember the day that she walked in with three or four friends, but she stood out a mile, she was really very talented. 'She did musical theatre with us. She played Elphaba in our Wicked scene, she played Tracy Turnblad in Hairspray. She played Mrs Wormwood in our Matilda show, she always got lead roles, she always had something that was just extra in stage school 'From the moment she walked in the door she was oozing with talent, or as my friend Twink would say 'diseased with talent'. 'You always find talent when you teach young people, but she did have the X Factor; there was something about Megan.' Rob recalls having to pinch himself on one particular day when he was left mesmerised by her natural talent. 'I always remember sitting in rehearsal when we were doing Wicked before it was a film, and she was singing 'I'm Not That Girl',' he smiles. 'Time stood still when she sang that song.' Megan Forte oozes talent on stage, according to her drama school trainer Rob Murphy, who says he was mesmerised by her performances He can't remember her being that interested in lads as a teenager as she was so immersed in training for her roles. 'She was focussed so much on her talent and always focussed on learning her lines and being prepared for class,' he explains. 'That was really her passion when she was a teenager, coming to class prepared and fighting to get that lead role. She was always on it. I think as a teenager she number one focus was always theatre. 'She was energetic, bubbly and could take a joke. I always like to take a fun atmosphere when I'm teaching kids, and she was always up for a laugh, but was a hard worker and we always knew she was going to be a star – and here she is. Today's News in 90 Seconds - June 14 2025 'Her mother, Alison, was such a good stage school mother, she was so supportive. She was always really supportive of the stage school and the opportunities Megan got from the stage school.' Rob fondly remembers bringing Megan on the annual stage school trip to London a couple of times. 'When she turned 18 we had an open call for a Princess for the Civic Theatre Panto (in Tallaght). She walked away with the part,' he says. 'I still remember making that phonecall to tell her she got the part and she bawled crying, it was her first professional contract for theatre work. 'I always knew there was something with Megan that was quite special. I gave her her first professional contract, I gave her the part of Snow White many moons ago and from there she went on to London. Stage school owner Rob Murphy 'So, I was chuffed to hear then when she got into college in the UK. 'When Megan went to England it was during Covid and lockdowns and we lost that bit of contact. But I'm still in touch with her mother, Alison.' He says he was thrilled when it was announced Megan was appearing on the show. 'When I heard the news I said to her 'Oh my God Alison', she said 'Oh stop, my phone hasn't stopped!' I said 'I'm just delighted'.' he says. 'I actually think sometimes you might need reality TV now to break into the West End or that kind of thing, and I think she is going to be inundated with work because she has got a fine singing voice 'Love Island, people might say 'it's a reality show blah blah blah', but it is a stepping stone now for young people and I'm hoping it's going to be a really good stepping stone for Megan because she has talent." 'The minute we land home this weekend I have all the programmes on record. Everyone in the stage school are all mad about it and cheering her on.' On Thursday's show, Megan also opened up about a scar on her forehead, which was caused by an accident several months ago in England when she fell down some stairs. 'I knew about her accident. Megan has always been open and transparent about that scar and I think even on her TikToks she talks about the scar on her forehead and I think that's very good for a role model for young people,' Rob points out. 'We are all this body image stuff and anxiety going on, I think that is a role model to young people to speak about differences and are facing differences on their body and I commend her for that. 'She has always been transparent and I commend her for that.'
