Orlando Pirates: Special meeting for eight new players
Orlando Pirates, a Leading Betway Premiership club, sealed eight new signings this week. The list includes Sipho Mbule, Yanela Mbuthuma, Masindi Nemtajela, Tshepang Moremi, Nkosikhona Ndaba, Sinoxolo Kwayiba, Tshepo Mashiloane, and Sihle Nduli. We encouraged them to make history, just like the group of players we signed from a relegated Jomo Cosmos who went on to become CAF Champions League and AFCON champions. Orbit College graduate to Premiership and relegate Cape Town City
Orbit came into the fixture leading both City and Casric Stars by three points after their 1-0 win against Casric in Mbombela last week and knew a win would be enough to seal promotion. Orbit coach Pogiso Makhoye was full of praise for his players and said they knew this was their moment this season after they went toe-to-toe with Durban City in the MFC. 'It was difficult, I didn't prepare the team for the first two games as I was sick,' Makhoye told SuperSport TV after the game. 'I would like to thank Mpumi and Nkosana [PSL chair and Orlando Pirates owner Irvin Khoza's children] for guiding me. Those are my mentors and congratulations to them, and I'm very proud of myself because they believed in me to say, 'One day you will make history'.

Al Ahly have confirmed Jose Riveiro as their new coach. Riveiro left Orlando Pirates before the end of the domestic season in South Africa. The Egyptian giants broke the news on social media on Thursday evening, after Pirates shocked the South African football fraternity when they announced that Riveiro would be leaving the club before his contract expired at the end of June. We learned a lot from him, and he learned a lot from us. 'While we would have preferred to formally honour him with a proper send-off, we fully respect his decision to depart before the end of his tenure.' Riveiro was grateful to Pirates for granting his wish. 'I want to express my sincere appreciation to Orlando Pirates for allowing me the opportunity to leave before the end of my contract. As someone who has never found goodbyes easy, this moment is particularly emotional for me,' Riveiro said following his departure from the club.
