India's para-canoe team prepares for world championship in calm waters of Lower Lake

Bhopal: A ten-member Indian kayaking and canoeing squad is training at Lower Lake. The contingent will compete in the Para Canoe World Championship scheduled in Idrossello de Milano, Italy, from Aug 20 to 24. The Indian para canoe team is undergoing intensive training with a focus on technique refinement and endurance building. The athletes are maintaining rigorous practice sessions twice daily, with specific attention to start positions and racing strategies. The team's preparation encompasses various aspects of competitive canoeing, including balance control, paddle techniques, and race simulation exercises. The coaching staff has implemented specialised training modules for different categories, ensuring each athlete receives targeted instruction. The Lower Lake facility provides ideal training conditions with its calm waters and proper infrastructure. The team is utilising video analysis to improve their performance and identify areas for enhancement. The support staff, including physiotherapists Dr Isha Joshi and Dr Hariom Parihar, are ensuring the athletes' physical well-being through regular therapy sessions and injury prevention protocols. The team's accommodation and dietary requirements are being managed by the Indian kayaking and canoeing association, ensuring proper nutrition and rest between training sessions. The athletes are following a structured routine that includes mental preparation and strategy discussions. Local authorities and the MP kayaking and Canoeing association have provided additional support by ensuring exclusive access to training facilities and necessary equipment for the preparations. The team's preparation has been bolstered by the availability of international standard boats and training gear.
