Islamic Coalition Secretary-General receives Oman's ambassador in Riyadh
RIYADH: Secretary-General of the Islamic Military Counter-Terrorism Coalition Mohammed bin Saeed Al-Moghedi received Oman's Ambassador to the Kingdom Sayyid Najib bin Hilal Al-Busaidi at the coalition's headquarters in Riyadh. During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to enhance cooperation between the coalition and Oman to combat terrorism and extremism, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Tuesday. The ambassador was briefed on the role played by the coalition and the initiatives and programs it implements, including combating the financing of terrorism. Al-Busaidi stressed his country's keenness to continue its support for these efforts to achieve regional and international security and stability.

Islamic coalition hosts training program in Riyadh
RIYADH: The Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition launched a specialized training program titled 'Collection Management' on Sunday at its Riyadh headquarters. This initiative is part of the Kingdom's efforts to support and build the capacities of nominees from coalition member states, the Saudi Press Agency reported. The program aligns with Saudi Arabia's goal to enhance integration and cooperation among member states in the fight against terrorism. It targets 25 nominees from 14 member states, providing theoretical knowledge and practical skills in collection operations, data analysis, and supporting decision-makers in counterterrorism and anti-extremism. The five-day program, supervised by military and information experts, includes training sessions, simulations, and workshops to improve institutional readiness and capacity for current security challenges. This training is part of a broader coalition effort, now comprising more than 46 specialized programs covering areas like ideology, terrorism financing, military coordination, and media engagement.

Islamic coalition concludes imam training in Comoros
RIYADH: The Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition recently concluded its 'Building Capacity for Imams and Preachers' training program in Moroni, Comoros, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Saturday. The five-day program gave imams and preachers intensive training on topics including deconstructing extremist rhetoric, social influence techniques, public speaking, and promoting moderacy. Comoran Minister of Justice and Islamic Affairs Anfani Hamada Baca thanked the Saudi-backed coalition for its "significant efforts to counter extremist ideas and promote moderacy through various strategic initiatives aimed at combating extremism and terrorism.' Participants praised the program's organization and scientific content, stressing the importance of expanding such initiatives to strengthen educational and religious institutions in protecting communities from extremist ideology, the SPA reported. Earlier, Comoros Defense Minister Youssoufa Mohamed Ali reaffirmed his country's commitment to the coalition's fight against extremism and terrorism, adding that the program's launch was a 'significant step forward' in that fight. Maj. Gen. Mohammed Al-Moghedi, the coalition's secretary-general from Saudi Arabia, said the initiative was part of a broader effort involving 15 strategic programs in four areas: intellectual development, media, counter-terrorism financing, and military operations.

He highlighted the coalition's key role, particularly its focus on intellectual engagement, and said the program's launch was a significant step forward. Maj. Gen. Mohammed Al-Moghedi, the coalition's secretary-general from Saudi Arabia, said the initiative was part of a wider effort involving 15 strategic programs across four areas — intellectual development, media, counter-terrorism financing and military operations. Recently, the coalition held specialized training on combating terrorist financing in Bamako, Mali. The program aimed to strengthen national capacity to counter terrorist financing and money laundering.

Saudi and Bahraini military chiefs discuss efforts to fight terrorism
RIYADH: During a meeting in Manama on Wednesday, the secretary-general of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition, Maj. Gen. Mohammed Al-Moghedi from Saudi Arabia, and the chief of staff of the Bahrain Defence Force, Lt. Gen. Theyab Al-Nuaimi, reviewed the coalition's recent work and achievements. In particular, they looked at its strategic initiatives and regional programs in various locations including the African Sahel region, the Saudi Press Agency reported. They discussed Saudi Arabia's flagship training program for specialized counterterrorism operatives in more than 27 member states, the funding mechanisms employed by those states to support the work of the coalition, and operational strategies for implementing its mission. Al-Moghedi and Al-Nuaimi emphasized the importance of joint action and stronger coordination among coalition member states, and the enhancement of capabilities in key operational areas, including: efforts to counter intellectual extremism; strategic media; tackling the financing of terrorism; and military operations. They reiterated a shared commitment to deeper cooperation, unified efforts, and enhanced coordination to combat terrorism.
