Trump hopes Gaza hostage, cease-fire deal will be reached ‘sometime next week'
President Trump on Tuesday said he's pushing for a Gaza cease-fire and hostage deal to be reached next week as he prepares to welcome Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the White House. Trump, who had called on Israel to 'make the deal in Gaza' earlier this week, said he hopes to have something concrete by the time Netanyahu visits Washington on July 7. 'We hope it's going to happen, and we're looking for it to happen sometime next week,' Trump told reporters. Hezbollah leader responds to US's warning to not get involved in Israel-Iran conflict
After the US special envoy for Syria warned Hezbollah against becoming involved in the exchange of strikes between Iran and Israel, Hezbollah leader Naim Qassem said that the Lebanese movement would "act as it sees fit". In a statement, Qassem said Hezbollah was "not neutral" in the conflict between the two countries and that the Shia group "would act as it sees fit in the face of this brutal Israeli American aggression". Tom Barrack visited Lebanon on Thursday and warned Hezbollah it would be "a very, very, very bad decision" to get involved.

Greensboro's ‘Run for Their Lives' march supports release of Israeli hostages
GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — People advocating for the release of Israeli hostages still held by Hamas gathered this afternoon in Greensboro near the Friendly Center as part of a worldwide effort called Run for Their Lives. For many, it was important to march a week after the Run for Their Lives march in Boulder, Colorado, was firebombed with Molotov cocktails. Among the dozens who gathered in Greensboro, the mission was clear: bring the 55 hostages home, of whom half remain alive. 'We felt that it was really important that we show solidarity with the hostages who have been languishing, held in captivity by Hamas terrorists,' said Rabbi Andy Koren of Temple Emanuel Greensboro. Koren says the Greensboro march on Friendly Avenue is like a patch in a quilt, every march worldwide making the call for release stronger, larger, more supportive. 'The message is intended for their families in Israel, our extended families in Israel,' he added. Rabbi Koren bore a number on his chest: 611. Sunday marked 611 days since Hamas attacked Israel. Every step was filled with a range of emotions, from unity to determination. 'This is not a time to shy away or disappear, this is a time to be proud, to be seen, and to stand up for the innocent hostages taken from their homes,' said Glenda Bernhardt, CEO of the Greensboro Jewish Federation. The silent walk was 18 minutes long because in Jewish culture, 18 is meaningful. 'It is our number of life,' said Koren. Many marchers took the opportunity to reflect on the perils of the war, including Steven Greenstein, a dual Israeli American citizen. 'It's time for the war to end, it's time for hostages to come home,' said Greenstein. Greenstein, among other marchers, vows to keep advocating for the hostages until the day all are home. 'We've been walking now for over two years in extreme heat, in rain, in thunderstorms, in wind, and none of these elements even compare to what the hostages eare nduring at the moment,' said Greenstein. The group gathered to contribute their part of the patchwork quilt, a video message to post online. 'Bring them home, and stand with Boulder, Colorado,' they said in part on camera. A sea of signs, faces of those held captive, and both Israeli, and American flags waving…a testament to a shared goal, for the war to end. 'We're just grateful for those who stand together with us also, we are not asking for people to be hateful, we are asking for people to be supportive, and they really were,' said Koren. Bodies of 2 Israeli American Hostages Recovered: Israel Military
Israel has recovered the bodies of two Israeli American hostages, Judi Lynn Weinstein and Gad Haggai, in the Khan Younis area of the Gaza Strip, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Thursday. Weinstein, 70, and her 72-year-old husband—who was also a Canadian citizen—were among 31 people abducted from the Kibbutz Nir Oz in southern Israel during the attacks by Hamas terrorists on Oct. 7, 2023.

Qatar says Israel attack on Gaza 'undermining any chance at peace'
by Naharnet Newsdesk 10 hours Qatar's prime minister on Tuesday said Israel's military offensive in Gaza had undermined peace efforts after the release of U.S.-Israeli hostage Edan Alexander and amid expanded operations in the Palestinian territory. "When Israeli American soldier Aidan Alexander was released, we thought that moment would open a door to end this tragedy, but the response was a more violent wave of strikes," said Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani. "This irresponsible, aggressive behavior undermines any potential chance for peace," he said at the Qatar Economic Forum. The comments come a day after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said his country would "take control" of the whole of Gaza, as the military pressed a newly intensified campaign in the war-ravaged territory. Qatar has been a key mediator in the Gaza war, alongside Egypt and the United States. Sheikh Mohammed said that in the past couple of weeks, negotiations in Doha "didn't lead us anywhere yet, because there is a fundamental gap between the two parties". "One party is looking for a partial deal that might... lead to a comprehensive deal, and the other party is looking just for a one-off deal... and to end the war and to get all the hostages out," he said. "We couldn't bridge this fundamental gap" he added.
