IIT aspirant ends life in Hyderabad
An 18-year-old student ended his life at the Victoria Memorial Metro station in Saroornagar on Friday night. The boy was reportedly upset after failing to qualify for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE), said the police.
The boy, identified as J. Harshith from Almasguda, had recently completed his Intermediate studies and was attending coaching classes in Madhapur, said the Inspector of Saroornagar police V. Saidi Reddy.
'As per a statement recorded from his mother, Harshith left home as usual around 6 a.m. for class. At around 3.30 p.m., he called and informed her that he couldn't take the depression any longer and had decided to end his life,' said the Inspector.
Police booked a case and shifted the body for a post-mortem examination.
