JBL's best portable speakers plummet to record-low prices
If you're looking for a portable speaker, JBL makes some of the most popular ones. The best ones that are still easy to carry around are the JBL Charge 6 and JBL Flip 7, and both are hitting new record-low prices right now. Let's tell you a bit about them. Buy the JBL Charge 6 for $149.95 ($50 off) Buy the JBL Flip 7 for $99.95 ($50 off) Both of these offers come from Woot, an Amazon-owned deals website. They are in new condition and come with a 90-day Woot warranty. The Charge 6 is available in Black and Blue, while the Flip 7 only comes in its Blue iteration. There is also a purchase limit of 2 units for the Charge 6 or 1 unit for the Flip 7. JBL Charge 6 JBL Charge 6 JBL Charge 6 The JBL Charge 6 is here, with some key upgrades. The JBL Charge 6 is new and improved with its upgraded durability, customizable sound, and longer battery life. See price at Woot! Save $50.00 If you're looking for the best portable Bluetooth speaker, our sister site, lists the JBL Charge 6 as the top option in its list of the best Bluetooth speakers. Of course, this is all relative. It's the best if you want something that is actually portable. If you upsize, there are many better speakers. The JBL Charge 6 offers a great overall experience for the adventurer and mobile warrior. It is built like a tank, with improved rubber bumpers and an IP68 rating. It's totally dustproof and waterproof. It has really good sound quality considering its size, with a strong bass, which we know many of you will love. The app comes with a seven-band equalizer, allowing you to customize the sound profile to your liking. I love its portability, design, and performance. Its 24-hour battery life is impressive, and you can charge your phone with it, making it a portable battery pack of sorts. Other features include lossless audio, Auracast support for connecting multiple speakers together, and more. At nearly $150, it is a fantastic speaker. JBL Flip 7 JBL Flip 7 JBL Flip 7 The JBL Flip 7 offers a familiar look, but offers some modern updates. The JBL Flip 7 receives some welcome upgrades. See price at Woot! Save $50.00 If you need something even more portable, the JBL Flip 7 might be more to your liking. This one fits perfectly in any backpack drink holder. And while smaller, it is still a really lovely little portable speaker, especially at today's $99.95 price point. While tiny, it still has a really nice sound profile. It can easily clip into any bag or even your pants' belt loop. It also has an IP68 rating, making it just as resistant as the Charge 6. Sound quality is actually very similar between the two models. The only real difference in audio is that the Charge 6 offers improved bass. Another sacrifice that comes with choosing the Flip 7 is that battery life will suffer a bit. This one gets about 14 hours per charge (instead of 24 hours). It also can't charge other devices, so there is that. If you don't mind those differences, and really value portability, it is certainly a nice purchase, especially at under $100! Are you not sure which to pick? Our friends at SoundGuys have a detailed comparison between the JBL Charge 6 and the JBL Flip 7. Check it out for more in-depth information. Make sure to act quickly if you make up your mind on one, though. These Woot deals are only around while supplies last, and these are really enticing discounts we've never seen before.

JBL Flip 7 review: this speaker sounds as good as it looks
JBL'S FLIP speakers have a reputation for being loud, rugged, and built to last. The Flip 7 is the latest in the series, and in this JBL Flip 7 review, I've been seeing how it stacks up and whether it's worth your cash. 2 JBL Flip 7, £129.99 £119 from Amazon BUY HERE JBL launched the Flip series back in 2012, and over the years, each new model has built on its rugged, outdoorsy reputation. At a glance, the design hasn't changed much; that compact, durable tube shape is still front and centre. But beneath the surface, JBL has been steadily refining the internals. The latest addition, the JBL Flip 7, arrived earlier this year with improved battery life, JBL's signature punchy bass, and the same portable form factor fans know and love. I've tested a lot of portable audio gear, and the Flip 7 holds its own as one of the best Bluetooth speakers in its class. I've been living with it for the past couple of months to find out how it performs and whether it's worth the spend. Read on for the full review. Pros Durable mesh exterior with excellent waterproof protection Punchy bass and crisp vocals that fill indoor and outdoor spaces Lightweight and easy to carry anywhere Cons Slightly expensive compared to some competitors Battery life is solid but not industry-leading Rating: 9/10 How I tested the JBL Flip 7 JBL Flip 7, £129.99 £119 from Amazon BUY HERE Going into this review, I was curious to see if the Flip 7 could live up to everything I'd heard about JBL's speakers, especially since this was my first time trying one out for myself. To find out, I put it through some real-life tests: a few well-aimed splashes to check its waterproofing, and garden get-togethers where clear, powerful sound makes all the difference. The goal was simple: to see if the Flip 7 delivers when it matters most. The Nitty‑Gritty First impressions JBL Flip 7, £129.99 £119 from Amazon I've heard plenty of positive noise about the Flip range, and was keen to find out whether the Flip 7 could live up to the reputation that precedes it. Straight out of the box, the Flip 7 gives off a reassuringly solid, no-nonsense feel. It's compact enough to chuck in a backpack, but has enough weight in the hand to feel like a serious bit of kit. The rugged mesh exterior and rubber feet at each end give the impression it's designed to handle whatever you throw at it, from the occasional knock off a table to the unpredictable and often unforgiving British weather. It comes with two attachments: a carry handle (already attached) and a carabiner you can swap in. Both click in securely, and once fitted, neither's going anywhere. It's a small detail, but it makes a difference if you're clipping it to a bag or hanging it somewhere. Pairing it via Bluetooth was painless, taking just a few seconds the first time and then reconnecting automatically every time after, with no dropouts throughout my time using it. Does it deliver? I ran the Flip 7 through a mix of casual but telling real-world scenarios: a few afternoons in the garden, some background music during get-togethers, and a steamy bathroom while the shower was going. You don't have to baby this speaker; the IP68 rating easily handled splashes, steam, and a bit of unexpected British drizzle. Inside, it powered through the sound of running water, while outside it easily filled the garden at just 50% volume, with a clean, punchy sound that carried surprisingly well. Vocals come through crisp and natural, and there's a low-end thump that gives music a bit of weight without drowning everything else out. It's more refined than you'd expect from something this size. JBL Flip 7, £129.99 £119 from Amazon BUY HERE JBL's AI Sound Boost is on board too, which tweaks the output in real-time. I can't say I noticed it kicking in, but honestly, the Flip 7 sounds great without any noticeable help, so whatever it's doing, it's doing it quietly and well. One of the more useful additions is support for Auracast, which means you can pair it with other compatible speakers. The addition makes it more flexible if you want to build a setup down the line or link up for a bigger sound at parties. Battery life's decent, but not a standout; JBL claims up to 16 hours with Playtime Boost, and while it got close in my testing, some rivals stretch further. That said, it's still four hours more than the Flip 6 managed, so it's a step in the right direction. You'll comfortably get a full day's use, but for the price, it's not quite class-leading. Sound quality JBL Flip 7, £129.99 £119 from Amazon BUY HERE After putting everything from budget speakers to premium audio gear through their paces, I've learned to pick up on the subtle differences. While I haven't tried earlier models in the series, the Flip 7 is easily one of the best-sounding speakers I've tested in this price range. The clarity, balance, and depth are impressive, especially for something this compact. There's also support for wired USB-C playback for lossless audio, a nice bonus for those who want the absolute best fidelity from a physical connection. At £129.99, it's not cheap, but given the build quality, versatility, and sound performance, it justifies the price. For casual listeners, it might feel a bit much, but if you want something tough, loud, and genuinely enjoyable, this is it. How much is the JBL Flip 7? Now on sale for £119 (usually £129.99), it's still not the cheapest speaker out there, but with JBL, you're paying for years of expertise and a device that's as tough as it is capable. Some competitors might be cheaper, but they often skimp on waterproofing and deliver a much tinnier, less enjoyable sound. That's what makes the Flip 7 such a strong choice for anyone who values longevity and great audio quality. Where to buy the JBL Flip 7 JBL is stocked by most major UK retailers, making the Flip 7 easy to find. You can also save some cash by going down the refurbished route, even on newer models. JBL Flip 7 alternatives If the Flip 7 doesn't quite meet the bar for you, there are plenty of other options available that might. For those looking for quality on a budget, the Anker Soundcore Motion 300 offers better value on sale for £59.99 and the same sturdy portability. If it's a premium sound that you're seeking, the latest Ultimate Ears Boom 4 offers improved range and superior battery life for the same price (£129.99), but you're compromising on portability with a bulkier speaker. At the other end of the spectrum, you've got Sonos, which has perfected speakers with powerful sound and clarity, but they are pricier at £179 for the Roam 2, up to £449 for the Era 300. The JBL Flip 7 is a rugged, reliable speaker that delivers exactly what you'd expect for the price. It isn't the cheapest speaker on the shelf, but it earns its keep. You get punchy, well-balanced sound, proper rugged build quality, and features that actually add something, like Auracast and USB-C audio. Battery life could be better for the price; some rivals do go longer, but it'll still comfortably see you through a full day. If you want something reliable, portable, and genuinely fun to use day to day, this one's hard to fault. It's not perfect, but for the size and price, it gets an awful lot right. JBL Begins Shipping New Flip 7 And Charge 6 Bluetooth Speaker Updates
The JBL Charge 6 Bluetooth speaker has been updated with new drivers as well as Bluetooth 5.4 with ... More Auracast support. The speaker also has an IP68 waterproof and dustproof rating. Competition in the world of portable Bluetooth speakers is brutal. With so many brands are fighting for a slice of this competitive market the quality and value can vary a lot. Every year or two, one of the biggest and best-known names in the industry continues updating its products and the customers keep coming back for more as the quality goes up as prices hold or even fall. That Bluetooth speaker brand with probably the most loyal following is JBL. The company consistently scores well with its customer base and despite being at the upper end of the market, JBL continues updating the hugely popular Flip and Charge models and the latest updates are here with the Flip 7 and Charge 6. JBL is a part of the Harman International portfolio of brands which is, itself, a subsidiary of Korean electronics giant Samsung. For the past decade, JBL has built itself a solid reputation with its regular speaker updates and color refreshes. Each new generation of the speakers comes with a few new features and a more refined sound that keeps the customers coming back for more. The JBL Flip 7 Bluetooth speaker is available in Purple as well as Black, Blue, Pink, Purple, Red, ... More Camo and White colorways. The latest version of the Charge 6 and Flip 7 speakers were announced back in March and they are now shipping in volume. Both models have been tweaked to deliver a bigger and more reliable sound plus there are waterproof ratings which make the speakers ideal for pool parties and days at the beach. New AI Sound The two new updates now feature AI Sound Boost, a proprietary technology that analyzes the sound waves of music in real-time and optimizes the speaker drivers to play the music loud and without distortion. AI Sound gives this latest generation of the speakers extra functionality changing where and how we listen to music. Carsten Olesen is President of Consumer Audio at Harman. He says: 'With the addition of Flip 7 and Charge 6, JBL is not just launching new products, we're immersing ourselves in the heart of cultural moments with our presence at SXSW.' 'Designed to tap into the limitless places listeners go to experience incredible sound, the introduction of AI Sound Boost highlights our dedication to delivering dynamic solutions that shape the soundtrack of consumers' lives,' he adds. With the JBL Flip 7 you get to choose whether you want to use finger loop strap or a carabiner clip. ... More So, whether you are sunbathing in the backyard or out hiking, the new JBL Flip 7 is ready for action thanks to an ingenious clip-on finger loop that can swapped over with a carabiner hook enabling the speaker to be hung from the branch of a tree or almost anything else, making it an suitable speaker for camping, DIY or sports. Thanks to that new AI Sound Boost, the Flip 7 has a powerful bass response that won't distort, even when the volume levels are cranked up. The compact and cylindrical shape of the Flip 7 hides an upgraded dome tweeter that serves up a sweeter treble. The result, says JBL, is a clearer and crisper sound even when at louder settings. Not only is the Flip 7 even more portable thanks to the new finger loop and carabiner, but it has an IP68 waterproof and dustproof rating that removes most of the limits of where the speaker can go or be used. This is a Bluetooth speaker that's as much at home by the pool as it is at the beach. The Flip 7 from JBL is a punchy speaker considering its compact size. Thanks to Playtime Boost, the JBL Flip 7 also features improved battery life and can play for up to 16 hours on a single charge. The speaker uses Bluetooth version 5.4 and supports Auracast broadcasting technology. The Flip 7 can be paired with other Auracast-enabled speakers two form a stereo pair or a multi-speaker setup for an ensemble performance with an even bigger sound. Auracast can also pick up braodcasts from other Auracast enabled devices like TVs or PA systems. Another useful feature is the Flip 7's ability to connect to a computer or smartphone via a USB cable. This means the Flip 7 can now play hi-res audio files streamed from a computer via USB, so it can be used for presentations as well as for streaming hi-res music from services like TIDAL or Qobuz. The compact Flip 7 is just the right size for use as a travel speaker because it is small enough to fit in a carry-on bag but loud enough to fill a the average hotel room with high-quality sound. Even with the volume turned up, there's little or no distortion and the treble and bass levels automatically adapt depending on volume levels. JBL Charge 6 can be used with a carry handle or a wrist strap. JBL Charge 6 Launching at the same times as the Flip. 7 is the latest version of the JBL Charge. Now renumbered as the Charge 6, this slightly larger Bluetooth speaker has proved itseld as a firm favorite with JBL's customers for some time now. The Charge 6 has a detachable carrying handle that can easily be turned into a wrist strap, making the Charge 6 even more convenient for taking to the beach or out into the back yard. Like the Flip 7, the Charge 6 also features AI Sound Boost for lower distortion sound at louder volume levels. JBL has also upgraded the woofer inside the speaker so it now delivers a deeper and stronger bass than its predecessor. Thanks to Bluetooth 5.4, the Charge 6 also supports Auracast, making it possible to sync with other Auracast speakers to create a stereo pair or series of linked speakers. The Charge 6 can also work as a power bank. Simply plug in your smartphone to the USB-C port and ... More enjoy a top-up anywhere. A full charge of the Charge 6's large battery provides an impressive 28 hours of listening time thanks to the addition of Playtime Boost. Because the battery is so large, the Charge 6 can also be used as a power bank for topping up other devices such as a smartphone. Although the JBL Charge 6 is a larger than its Flip 7 sibling, it does produce a bigger sound and the larger battery can go longer between charges, making it a handy party speaker and power bank for that summer barbecue at the beach or party by the pool. Thanks to the IP68 rating, the Charge 6 can shrug off water, sweat, dust and sand, making it robust enough to be used almost anywhere, even in British summer rain. The JBL Flip 7 Bluetooth speaker is available from Amazon and other retail outlets in a choice of Black, Blue, Pink, Purple, Red, Camo and White colors. The Flip 7 is priced at $149 / £129.
