Offset teams up with JID for hard-hitting new single 'Bodies'

Offset is turning up the heat this summer with his latest release, 'Bodies,' a high-octane collaboration featuring Dreamville rapper JID. The single, which samples Drowning Pool's 2001 nu-metal anthem 'Bodies,' marks Offset's second official release of 2025 and signals a shift toward a darker, more intense creative direction. Offset previously released 'TEN,' but 'Bodies' brings a sharper edge. 'It's about standing on who you are, coming out the mud, and being confident in the face of adversity,' he shared in a statement. The track's gritty production and combative lyrics arrive amid ongoing drama between Offset and his estranged wife, Cardi B, giving the song added emotional weight. JID's surgical lyrical precision complements Offset's aggressive delivery, creating a balanced but ferocious energy. Offset's booming verses clash and flow with JID's rapid-fire style, making 'Bodies' a standout anthem for fans of hard-hitting hip-hop. The track is already generating buzz among fans of both artists and those who appreciate genre-blending rap with rock influences. With its bold sample, unfiltered energy, and lyrical sharpness, 'Bodies' is poised to be a defining song of summer 2025. As Offset continues his solo campaign, this collaboration with JID could mark a new era in his evolution—one fueled by conflict, confidence, and creativity.

Katy Perry wows Perth on Lifetimes Tour

A pop extravaganza took place at RAC arena Sunday night as thousands of loyal 'KatyCats' assembled in anticipation of superstar Katy Perry's The Lifetimes Tour, for the first of her two Perth shows. The atmosphere was electric as fans sported costumes from the singer's iconic outfits as an ode to their favourite hits. The pop queen didn't hold back in delivering the spectacle crowds were expecting, ensuring every facet of the show went the extra mile to impress. From riding a gargantuan mechanical butterfly across the arena to being propelled through the air on aerial lines — all while belting out songs — Perry confirmed her status as a seasoned pop icon. Opening with song Artificial (feat JID) set the tone for the AI-themed show, featuring Perry in a video game world fighting the villainous AI technology known as 'main-frame'. As the audience was sucked into her vortex via larger-than-life visuals, the singer rose from the depths of the infinity-shaped stage, dressed in a futuristic robot-inspired costume complete with thigh-high metallic boots. If it all sounds a little gimmicky, that's because it was, aligning with the over-the-top fantastical worlds Perry seeks to create with each tour. Fans were mesmerised by the epic visuals, jaw-dropping set design and multiple costumes changes, bursting into song alongside mega hits Woman's World, California Gurls, Teenage Dream and latest dance anthem Lifetimes. Taking time to interact and connect with fans, the singer accepted posters and gifts from the crowd, including a pack of Tim Tams that she shared with two young fans on stage — her signature quirky charm on full display. The show is the star's fifth world tour in promotion of her seventh studio album, titled 143. While the singer experienced backlash after the recent Blue Origin space flight that has extended to criticism of The Lifetimes Tour's themes, Perry maintains her messaging of acceptance and belonging throughout the show, that originally garnered her millions of fans on the brink of her 2011 California Dreams Tour. Any criticisms were clearly left behind as the audience couldn't get enough of Perry's stage presence and powerhouse vocals. With an encore of much loved hit Firework to end the show, fans were left feeling sky high. 4 stars

Cardi B Is 'Outside' This Summer While Offset Is Letting The 'Bodies' Hit The Floor

Cardi B and Offset are going head-to-head for the charts as they both dropped new singles on Friday (June 20), within hours of each other. The estranged married couple — who've spent the past year making headlines over their pending split — delivered what felt like musical rebuttals from both sides of the divorce. Cardi came out swinging with 'Outside,' a long-teased release that lands as both a summer anthem and a bold declaration that she's moved on. It marks her first solo track of the year, delivered with her signature sound, razor-sharp bars, and lines that sound like clear shots at her ex. Over a bass-heavy beat, she reclaims her singleness with bars about being 'cuffed up too long,' and even calls out a 'good-for-nothing, low-down dirty dog' — a jab many believe is aimed at Offset. She also throws a petty jab hinting at her once rumored-romance with NFL star Stefon Diggs, who she now officially dates. She raps: 'Favorite player from your favorite team, he in my DM.' Offset, not one to let a moment pass quietly, released his own track 'Bodies' featuring JID just hours later. The song, which samples rock group Drowning Pool's 'Bodies' is equally braggadocious as it showcases a lyrical version of Offset that fans haven't heard in years. He raps: 'I'm uppin' my rank 'cause I got ni**as spanked, ni**a, shh, death or dishonor/ I think these ni**as forgot where I came from, 'cause I got mansion and mansions with lake fronts.' Social media lit up with hot takes and their side picked. One user wrote on X, 'Divorce really got Offset back in his bag. Cardi might've been the final boss he had to beat.' Others applauded Cardi, calling 'Outside' a career-reset that re-solidifies her place in the rap game post-breakup. The pair, who filed for divorce again in August, have had a history of public breakups and reconciliations. But this time, things are seemingly final. Cardi has moved on to Diggs, as Set has been spotted with a few women here and there. Speaking to Cardi's new relationship, Offset responded to a comment about the couple online that read, 'Offset punching the air,' with 'I'm happy for her !!' Whether the singles were planned or coincidental, the dual release has fans tuned in. Take a listen to both tracks above. From Ondo to the world: Meet Johnvents Group — the agribusiness giant quietly building Africa's future

At the heart of this journey is Johnvents Industries Limited, Akure, an 18,000 MT state-of-the-art facility producing cocoa liquor, butter, cake, and powder. Since commencing operations in 2021, it has exported thousands of tonnes of cocoa products to Europe, the US, and other global markets, placing Nigerian cocoa on the world stage. Strengthening this foundation is Premium Cocoa Products (Ile-Oluji), Nigeria's oldest cocoa processing plant with a 30,000 MT capacity. Its acquisition and revitalization speak to the Group's commitment to preserving heritage while delivering products that meet international standards. To support its growing international footprint, Johnvents Industries DMCC (JID) was set up in Dubai as the Group's international trading hub. JID oversees sourcing and exports from more than 12 countries, connecting African produce to partners across Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and North America. Johnvents' consumer-facing subsidiary, Johnvents Foods, is creating unforgettable food moments with household brands like JV Pure Cocoa Powder, JV 3 in 1 Chocolate Drink, Oluji Pure Cocoa Powder, and JV Choco Pops. Feeding this production engine is Johnvents Farms, which spans more than 1,500 hectares across Nigeria. These farms focus on the sustainable cultivation of cocoa and palm oil, anchoring the Group's commitment to traceability, agroforestry, and responsible land use. By investing in primary agriculture, Johnvents is ensuring long-term security and a fully integrated value chain, from soil to shelf. Ensuring this chain runs efficiently is Haven Hauling, the Group's logistics and freight arm. Haven Hauling is a modern haulage and export business with a fleet of 200+ trucks ensuring reliable delivery from farms to factories and global ports ensuring reliability, cost efficiency, and reduced post-harvest losses. In 2023, Johnvents further diversified with the acquisition of Noble-Eagle Industries Limited, a fast-growing FMCG manufacturing company. With production lines for edible oils, bottled water, cereals, animal feeds, and seasoning cubes, Noble-Eagle adds scale and versatility to the Group's manufacturing capabilities, meeting the evolving needs of consumers and distributors across West Africa. Johnvents Group is not only creating value from farm to table, it is shaping a new story for African enterprise. One defined by scale, innovation, and impact. With each investment, the Group is deepening its roots across the continent while expanding its reach globally, showing that Africa's agribusiness future lies not just in raw exports but in transformation, traceability, and long-term value creation.
