‘Babua' agitated over exposure of loot, corruption under previous govt: Yogi
1 2 Gorakhpur/Azamgarh: Launching a veiled attack on SP chief Akhilesh Yadav over corruption in JPNIC project, Chief Minister Adityanath on Wednesday said "a CBI inquiry is ongoing into the project and that is why 'Babua' is furious about the exposure of loot and corruption". Although the CM didn't name the SP chief in his speech, the reference was obvious. Launching a massive plantation drive in the state by planting saplings in Gorakhpur, Ayodhya and Azamgarh, the CM attacked the previous SP govt and cited figures related to Purvanchal Expressway and JPNIC and said the revelation of corruption left 'Babua' that rampant corruption and loot was witnessed in the implementation of schemes before 2017, Yogi said: "The SP govt gave tender for the 341-kilometre-long and 110-metre-wide Purvanchal Expressway for Rs 15,200 crore. In contrast, the BJP's double-engine govt increased the width to 120 metres, re-tendered it, and reduced the cost to Rs 11,800 crore." "Those who engaged in corruption are now giving sermons. JP (Jayaprakash Narayan) was known for value-based politics and opposing nepotism, but the SP govt tarnished his name. The JPNIC project, initially costing Rs 200 crore, incurred expenses of Rs 860 crore by March 2017 without completion, prompting a CBI investigation. 'Babua' who was talking about ethics is now agitated by the exposure of corruption," he said. The CM criticised parties questioning the BJP govt, saying that they even "question the campaign of planting 37 crore saplings in a day, while they did nothing when given the opportunity". "They used schemes to plunder public money. Our govt introduced 'One District One Product' and 'One District One Crop', while the SP, Congress, and BSP govts gave 'One District, One Mafia', spreading venom in society in the name of nepotism and firing on the devotees of Lord Ram," Yogi said. He said that under previous govts, forest mafia conducted illegal logging, mining mafias engaged in illegal excavations, and land mafias seized the property of the poor. "There was chaos in the state. Today, the govt has implemented a zero-tolerance policy against mafias across the state. Before 2017, the youth of the state faced an identity crisis. Today, when a person from UP goes outside, the mention of their connection to the state brings a smile to the face of the listener," he said. During his visit to Azamgarh, where he planted a Harishankari Vatika along the expressway in Kerma village, Yogi issued a warning to anti-social and anti-national elements, asserting that the govt was taking decisive action against those involved in such activities. Citing the arrest of Chhangur Baba in Balrampur, who is accused of orchestrating mass conversions, the CM said, "We apprehended a criminal yesterday who was exploiting Hindu women. Such elements are now being dealt with sternly. We will not allow society to fragment. We will crush all anti-national and anti-social forces." Referring to the period before 2017, the CM said that large-scale deforestation and illegal mining by forest and mining mafias led to lawlessness and environmental degradation. "There was no development, only destruction. In contrast, our govt's initiative is transforming heatwaves into greenwaves. Azamgarh has sent many prominent leaders to Parliament but it was only after Nirahua became MP that expressways, a university in the name of Maharaja Suheldev, a music college, and extensive road networks became a reality," the CM said.

Opposition parties promoted 'one district, one mafia' policy in UP: CM Yogi Adityanath
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday accused the opposition parties of corruption and promoting a policy of "one district, one mafia" during their tenure in contrast to his government's focus on development and zero-tolerance against crime. Addressing an event here, the chief minister questioned the critics of his government's tree plantation drive. "I want to ask those who question the tree plantation program. When they had the opportunity, they could do nothing. They made schemes a center of corruption, a center of loot," said Adityanath. "Today our government is giving one district, one product, one district, one crop and these people, whether it was the Samajwadi Party , Congress or Bahujan Samaj Party, their governments gave one district, one mafia," he added. Alleging that these parties "worked to spread poison in society in the name of nepotism", the chief minister claimed, "These mafias indulged in illegal felling of forests, illegal mining, grabbed lands, wreaked havoc with anarchy and oppressed the poor." Live Events "Now the result of zero-tolerance policy against mafia tendencies is being seen across the country. It is a result of that there is no identity crisis for the youth of the state," he asserted. Adityanath also specifically targeted the previous Samajwadi Party government over the Jai Prakash Narayan International Centre (JPNIC) in Lucknow. "There is a JPNIC in Lucknow. JP was known for Gandhian ideology, for value-based politics in the country. He advocated for establishing values and ideals in politics, fought against the model of nepotism. The Samajwadi Party worked to defame such a leader," he said. The chief minister highlighted alleged financial irregularities related to the project. "Remember the JPNIC Center built in Lucknow, its cost was only Rs 200 crore and by March 2017, Rs 860 crore had been spent, and it is still not complete," he said. Launching a scathing attack on former chief minister and Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav , Adityanath said, "A CBI inquiry is ongoing and that is why babua (child) is furious that their loot, their corruption, is being exposed."

SP gave lathi blows to kanwariyas, BJP greets with flowers
Lucknow: Cabinet minister Anil Rajbhar on Monday launched a scathing attack on SP chief Akhilesh Yadav , accusing him of peddling baseless allegations out of political desperation ahead of elections. Citing large-scale corruption during the SP regime, Rajbhar highlighted irregularities in the Gomti Riverfront and JPNIC projects, where key contracts were allegedly handed to party loyalists. In contrast, he said, the Yogi government has ordered a probe into the JPNIC scam and transferred its operations to the LDA to generate youth-centric opportunities. On the issue of the Kanwar Yatra, Rajbhar accused the SP of disrespecting religious sentiments. He recalled that Kanwar pilgrims were subjected to lathi-charge during the SP tenure and alleged that SP supporters were allowed to open unauthorized shops to disrupt the yatra. In stark contrast, he said, under the Yogi government, Kanwar pilgrims are honoured with flower showers. "No nameless, faceless shopkeeper can defile this sacred journey anymore," Rajbhar said, adding that even the mention of "identity" seems to discomfort Akhilesh. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 이 게임은 대부분의 TV 프로그램보다 더 재미있어요 – 게다가 무료예요. "Reviving rivers is not just policy, it's our resolve," he said. Touching upon the recent religious conversion racket, Rajbhar raised serious allegations, citing the arrest of Jalaluddin alias Chhangur baba. He claimed that fixed "rates" were being charged for converting girls from different communities. "This destroyed many innocent lives. It wouldn't be surprising if Akhilesh chooses to defend such criminals," he said assuring that the Yogi government would take strict action against them. He slammed the SP for pretending to care about Sanatan Dharma. "Revival of rivers is part of our Sanatan tradition. We worship rivers as goddesses. Hearing Akhilesh speak about Sanatan just doesn't sound right," he said, accusing the SP chief of deceiving the public.
