Inclusive Ashura Transit
TDT| Manama Bahrain's Jaafari Endowments has launched an upgraded Ashura public transport project offering free bus services across six major routes to Manama - now including early trial access and dedicated support for people with disabilities. The initiative, inaugurated by HE Yousef bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Jaafari Endowments, aims to ease the commute for mourners during the Ashura season through coordinated public services backed by the state. The project runs from the night of the 7th to the 10th of Muharram (2025), operating daily from 6 pm to 3 am.

Annual Ashoora coordination meeting set
The Jaafari Endowments Directorate announced the organisation of its annual meeting for Hussaini Maatams and procession supervisors across the governorates of the Kingdom of Bahrain. The meeting will be held on Monday evening at New Season Hall, Adhari Park, with the participation of representatives from official bodies, Hussaini Maatams, and stakeholders involved in preparations for the Muharram season for the year 1447 AH (2025) Yousif bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Jaafari Endowments, expressed appreciation for the continued support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in ensuring the care of religious observances, particularly during Ashura. He noted the ongoing support provided by state institutions to facilitate the annual commemoration. Al Saleh commended the efforts of the government, under the leadership of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, as well as the support of the Ministry of Interior, led by General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa. He also noted the role of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA), chaired by Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, and the oversight of His Excellency Nawaf bin Mohammed Al Maawda, Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, in supporting the needs of places of worship and religious observances.
