Dragons torn to shreds as fans spot horror jersey detail

The Dragons have stuffed up yet another milestone jersey, with fans demanding the club hire a proofreader after another horror gaffe on the weekend. Just over a year on from their 'Dargons' blunder, one St George Illawarra player again ran out with a major error on the front of their iconic Red V kit. As the Dragons got their NRLW season off on the right foot, running out 36-14 winners over the Raiders, they did get one thing horribly wrong. They messed up the debut NRLW jersey of Indie Bostock – the younger sister of Dolphins flyer Jack Bostock – spelling Saturday 'Staurday'. has contacted the Dragons about the jersey blunder. You can see Indie Bostock's incredible NRLW debut in the player above. The major blunder comes just over a year on from a typo on the special milestone jumper Jack Bird wore for his 150th NRL appearance last year. The jersey suggested Bird had played 150 games for the 'Dargons' rather than the Dragons, an inexplicable error that has seen the club referred to as the 'Dargs' or 'Dargons' ever since. And that wasn't a one-off either. When Fa'amanu Brown made his debut for the club last year, his jersey was embroidered with the incorrect date. So after Bostock's debut jersey error, fans have torn into the club for not getting the simplest of things right time and time again. 'Do the Dragons get their jersey print from TEMU? Embarrassing!' one fan wrote on X as an image of Bostock's jersey blunder circulated online. 'Come on guys, need to be better than this,' another wrote. 'Not Indie Bostock having a typo on her debut jersey. The Dragons need to invest in a proofreader with the amount of typos they have on their jerseys,' a third fan said. While the jersey blunder took a lot of the spotlight, Dragons fans have a lot to be excited about, with their NRLW side looking like serious premiership contenders in 2025. The Red V only led by a try with 12 minutes to go on Saturday, but exploded late, piling on three unanswered tries to register a dominant 36-14 win. Teagan Berry was a standout for the Dragons at fullback, while Bostock showed her speed and skill scoring two tries in her NRLW debut. The Dragons will attempt to go two from two next Saturday when they face the Roosters in Kogarah.

Newcastle Knights star Fletcher Sharpe hospitalised with lacerated kidney following concussion

Newcastle star Fletcher Sharpe has been diagnosed with a lacerated kidney after being admitted to hospital in Perth. Sharpe reported abdominal soreness after suffering a concussion in the Knights' 26-20 win over the Dolphins in Perth on Saturday. It is understood he suffered the damage in the same tackle as the concussion, when his body hit the ground hard when brought down from behind. The five-eighth has since been taken to hospital, and is set to remain in Western Australia for several days as he deals with the issue. Sharpe would already have missed Friday night's clash with Canberra due to concussion issues. The Knights have a bye the following week. Newcastle do not yet have a timeline on how much longer they expect the 21-year-old to miss. Sharpe has been one of Newcastle's best threats this year, scoring 11 tries and setting up another three in a side that has the worst attacking record in the NRL. Newcastle have several back-up options in the halves, with Tyson Gamble available again and Jackson Hastings having returned to the NRL against Manly this month. Elsewhere, there are fears Dolphins winger Jack Bostock suffered a dreaded ACL rupture in the Perth match. The potentially season-ending injury comes just a week after the flyer scored four tries against North Queensland last Saturday. The Warriors are also waiting on scans on halfback Luke Metcalf's quad and winger Dallin Watene-Zelezniak's ankle after their loss to Penrith. Watene-Zelezniak is expected to be sidelined for some time with a syndesmosis injury, but the fourth-placed club hold some hope that Metcalf's is not serious.

‘Could hear that': Star young Dolphin Jack Bostock's shocking injury blow

Rising star Jack Bostock's NRL season appears to be over after the winger suffered a serious knee injury in the Dolphins' 26-20 loss to the Knights in Perth. The Dolphins were on track for victory before the underdog Knights hit back with two tries in the final 17 minutes to grab the upset win. But many had 21-year-old Bostock on their minds, the reigning Dally M Rookie of the Year who was coming off a four-try performance against the Cowboys. FOX LEAGUE, available on Kayo Sports, is the only place to watch every game of every round in the 2025 NRL Telstra Premiership, LIVE with no ad-breaks during play. New to Kayo? With 13 minutes remaining in the first half, Bostock stepped off his right foot bringing the ball out from his own line when he crumpled to the HBF Park turf in agony in a non-contact incident. There were suggestions a noise could be heard in the horror moment and the club suspects the New South Welshman has suffered a dreaded ACL tear. That would mean the 194cm, 97kg winger's season has come to a sad end. 'Oh you could hear that,' Steve Roach said as the moment happened on Fox League. 'He just tried to step off that right foot, it's already strapped, and it buckled underneath him.' Warren Smith added: 'Oh no. You could hear something there in the collision. Jack Bostock clutches his right knee. 'Unfortunately you hold your breath here and hope this looks better than it does at the moment for Jack Bostock. 'He is distraught, you saw it was a non-contact situation, fair bit of give there in the field. 'Unfortunately we know what can be the subsequent diagnosis off the back of situations like that. 'Let's hope it's not the worst case scenario here for Jack Bostock. They did a test there on the ACL, they know fairly quickly, it can be quite comprehensive.' Bostock spent a considerable amount of time on the ground before he was slowly helped off by two Dolphins trainers in obvious pain. 'It's a sad sight,' Smith added. 'An exciting young winger. Four tries last week against the Cowboys and here he is coming from the field in the 27th minute in Perth. Bostock was seen on the bench with ice and a heavy support brace on his knee and Jake Duke gave an update after speaking to the Dolphins. 'The big news out of the sheds at halftime, really unfortunate news for the Dolphins,' he said. 'Jack Bostock, their winger, a suspected ACL injury on that right knee. 'You can see him sitting there on the sideline, a really sad figure after what has been a terrific season for him. Four tries last week. 'But unfortunately his season would likely be over if that is confirmed by scans. A big blow for the Dolphins.' Smith added: 'That is a massive blow quite obviously.' Plenty of people watching online also expressed their disappointment for the youngster, including the NRL PHYSIO account on X. 'Jack Bostock will go for scans on what the Dolphins medical staff suspect is an ACL injury (hands on tests very accurate),' he tweeted. 'Unfortunately about as textbook as it gets mechanism wise – non-contact, direction change + knee collapses in. If confirmed surgery & 9 month recovery ahead.' Former Fox Sports reporter Bernie Coen wrote: 'Oh bloody hell, the pop we heard, surely that did NOT come from Bostock.' Gemma Rogers said: 'That did not look good at all. Hopefully not an ACL.' Another fan tweeted: 'You absolutely hate to see that. Not looking good for Bostock but hopefully it's not the worst case scenario.' One fan offered: 'All the way to Perth just to do an ACL. That's a s**t go. Bostock was playing great footy, too!'
