Jackie 'O' Henderson reveals shock toilet confession: 'I can't sit there doing nothing'

Jackie 'O' Henderson has made a shock bathroom confession. The radio queen, 50, admitted on Friday's The Kyle and Jackie O Show that she always takes her mobile phone with her when she goes to the toilet. 'There's no better place to hang out than the bathroom, because no one can come join you or talk to you,' Jackie told her co-host Kyle Sandilands. 'You get that true alone time. Peace and quiet for once! I just sit there on my phone for ten minutes, locked in a bathroom.' Jackie added she never makes a bathroom trip without her mobile phone in her hand. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. 'I can't go to the toilet without my phone. It's like I go, "Oh I can't sit here doing nothing",' she quipped. Taking your phone to the toilet may keep you entertained while you do your business, but last month Mail+ revealed it is not always safe to do so. It was reported that this common habit can turn your device into a haven for dangerous microorganisms, a scientist warned. Dr Primrose Freestone, professor of clinical microbiology at the University of Leicester, said faecal bacteria can easily reach your phone in the bathroom. This includes E. coli, which can result in nasty diarrhea and stomach cramps, and Pseudomonas, which causes infections in the blood and lungs. Even after you've washed your hands with soap, these bugs can travel back to your hands once you touch your phone again. As a result, phones should be kept out of the toilet altogether, and regularly sanitised with alcohol wipes. 'The phone will at some point get contaminated, so periodically disinfecting your phone is a good idea,' she told MailOnline. The radio queen revealed on The Kyle and Jackie O Show that she always takes her mobile phone with her when she goes to the toilet It comes after Jackie revealed what started her painkiller addiction. On Thursday, the presenter was chatting to KIIS FM's Dr Sam Hay about the nature of addiction and told Kyle & Jackie O listeners she began taking painkillers to help cope with a problem that many women experience. 'I got addicted because I got prescribed Endone. I was prescribed for a true pain that I was experiencing because I was going to the hospital every month with my endometriosis,' Jackie began. Endometriosis is a painful condition affecting many women, where tissue similar to the womb lining grows in other parts of the body, often causing cramps, fatigue and fertility issues. Jackie added she was prescribed the powerful painkiller Endone - another name for Oxycodone - to help manage the issue but soon became dependent on it. 'It just got so out of control, I had to go to the hospital to get morphine. And then so they prescribed the Endone as a way to manage it,' she said. 'It is dangerous. When they handed me the drug they said, "it's so addictive. Be really careful." And it really, really is. 'I took those pills and thought, "I'll be fine." And I realised you're not fine because they are so addictive.'

Kyle and Jackie O show not for everyone, says KIIS FM owner

The CEO of KIIS FM's parent company ARN, which broadcasts the controversial radio duo Kyle Sandilands and Jackie 'O' Henderson, says while their content 'won't be for everyone', the duo can make up for its slow start to life in Melbourne. The Kyle and Jackie O Show made an underwhelming entry into the Melbourne breakfast radio market last year, and is still trailing its commercial competitors in the city. ARN chief executive Ciaran Davis said on Thursday the poor performance of the show was 'rightly a topic of investor interest', given how much money the company has spent on it. But he added that ARN always knew the duo would need time to break into the Melbourne market. 'This was never meant to be an overnight success, but they are great talent and we believe in the strategic, long-term investment,' Davis said. ARN made one of the biggest bets in Australian media history, re-signing the hosts of The Kyle and Jackie O Show to a 10-year radio deal worth $200 million in 2023. With Sandilands and Henderson paid $10 million annually, the company has reaped little from its blockbuster investment, and ARN chairman Hamish McLennan told investors at the company's annual general meeting on Thursday that the company was ready to make the tough calls until its bet on The Kyle and Jackie O Show pays off. 'We've let over 200 people go in the last six months. That is massive for a business in our size,' he said. ARN's decision to offshore some functions and reduce its head count even more, as reported by this masthead last week, aimed at delivering a cash cost out of $40 million, or around 20 per cent of its entire cost base, McLennan said.

Jackie 'O' Henderson hits back at disgruntled neighbour who called her 'disgusting' after multi-million dollar mansion build sparked fury

Jackie 'O' Henderson has hit back after the $5million construction of her 'dream home' inspired fury among her neighbours. The radio queen, 50, has insisted she was shocked that a neighbour had called her 'disgusting' in a recent interview on the renovations. 'The funny thing is that every neighbour has gone out of their way to say how great my builders are and how thoughtful and considerate they are,' Jackie said on the Kyle and Jackie O radio show this week. When asked by a producer if she felt bad about the worksite caravans she had parked in the street, Jackie was apologetic. 'It's really unfortunate and I hate that I would ever be putting people out,' she added. Addressing recent comments from an angry Neighbour, Jackie said to her co-host Kyle Sandilands: 'She did say that we are disgusting, you and I'. 'You can't blame people for thinking we're disgusting,' Kyle joked. Jackie taken on the ambitious project that will see a complete transformation of an oceanfront Clovelly house she purchased at open auction in March 2023. It is located in one of Sydney 's most sought-after suburbs. Two years after the KIIS FM star dropped $13.25million on the eastern suburbs pad, residents close to the building site are complaining about noise and disruptions. Residents claim that demolition work on the site, located on a small cul-de-sac overlooking Gordon's Bay, has created 'horrendous' noise, according to One resident complained to the publication about vehicles owned by tradies working on Jackie's home blocking road access and disregarding designated parking areas. 'I don't want to have to go to them every time I want to get out of my driveway,' the disgruntled neighbour said. A tradie informed the publication that work on the site won't be completed until June 2026. Meanwhile, the sight's foreman said that all the necessary work permits relating to the building of Jackie's huge three-storey abode have been approved. A report in the Wentworth Courier confirmed that Randwick Council received two complaints about construction. None related to noise or disruptions but rather raised concerns over sediment from the site falling into the ocean. 'Upon receiving the complaints, council officers attended the property and requested the builder implement additional sediment mitigation measures to reduce potential run-off to the ocean,' a spokesperson told the publication. Builders made the changes to the site as requested, they said. Jackie recently shared a glimpse of the incredible view from her 'dream home' as construction got underway. She posted a picture to Instagram early this month which showed that once building is completed the radio star will enjoy an amazing ocean view. Back in December Jackie shared video and images of the demolishing works on the original property. Photos showed a sloped frontage, leading to several staggered levels with the whole area now cordoned off with temporary fencing. The scene was a far cry from the 1960s-era home that once stood on the site. An aerial photo of the site revealed just how close Jackie will be to the stunning coastline. The picture showed the crystals clear water just meters away from what will eventually be Jackie's front door. The property is located on a clifftop over looking the ocean in Clovelly, which lies 9km from the CBD. 'And so it begins,' Jackie captioned the post as she shared her excitement for the build. The house is set back from the road, offering Jackie the privacy she hasn't had on the narrow streets of her former address. The high-profile media star had previously complained about intrusive paparazzi as the reason for her sale of her past home. Jackie bought her new home after pocketing a tidy $2million in profit on the sale of her old home in Woollahra, after paying $11million for it in 2020.
