Major food and music festival returning to park

The UK's largest touring food and music festival is returning to East Renfrewshire. The Foodies Festival, often referred to as "Gastro-Glastonbury," will visit Rouken Glen Park from August 8 to 10, featuring a line-up of celebrity chefs and chart-topping music stars. The three-day event will include live cooking demonstrations from TV celebrities and chefs from MasterChef, Great British Bake Off, and Great British Menu. Festival favourites, Scouting For Girls, are set to perform a high-energy set, while The Wanted 2.0, with Max George and Siva Kaneswaren, will present the next chapter in the history of The Wanted. (Image: Supplied) The legendary Symphonic Ibiza will also perform a fusion of dance anthems, with live vocals, a DJ, and an orchestra. In the Cake & Desserts Theatre, patisserie chefs and star bakers will whip up showstoppers and offer sweet treats. Masterclasses in the Drinks Theatre include tutored Champagne, Beer, Cider, Cocktail, and Wine-tasting with experts. The Shopping Village will showcase the latest food trends, while the Artisan Market will introduce visitors to local producers. The Feasting Tent will feature a range of street food and delicacies from around the world. The Tasting Theatre will offer a variety of themed tastings, and the International Cook School will provide lessons from top chefs. Other activities include the Fire Stage with BBQ masters, chilli eating competitions, a silent disco, fairground rides, children's activities, and family-friendly areas.
