Jamai No. 1's Abhishek Malik recreates Allu Arjun-inspired look from Pushpa 2; says 'I got goosebumps because the look is a complete replica'

Popular fiction drama Jamai No. 1 is set to serve viewers a visually arresting and emotionally charged twist as Neel (Abhishek Malik) transforms into a never-before-seen avatar of Goddess Kaali Maa—one that channels the iconic intensity of Allu Arjun 's look from Pushpa 2. In a first for Hindi television, the male lead steps into a divine and powerful form that blends cinematic flair with raw emotional gravitas. As the plot thickens with Riddhi's ( Simaran Kaur ) kidnapping and Neel's desperate mission to rescue her, viewers are in for a high-voltage visual experience. To bring this striking transformation to life, Abhishek's makeover is no small feat—it took close to two hours each day, with full-body paint, dramatic eye makeup, elaborate temple jewellery, and a traditionally draped saree completing the intense look. What truly ups the ante? Abhishek performed a stylised, high-energy action sequence in this avatar, engaging in combat while draped in the heavy ensemble, bringing together devotion, adrenaline, and drama in a way that's never been attempted before. Abhishek said, 'Honestly, I was genuinely thrilled when I first heard about this track and I was going to play as Goddess Kaali Ma. I got goosebumps because the look is a complete replica of Allu Arjun's iconic avatar from Pushpa 2—fierce, intense, and rooted in power. We did a look test, and the response was amazing. Everyone on set loved it, and I even got a call from our producer saying, 'This look was made for you.' Simaran Kaur preps for her courtroom act for Jamai No. 1, says 'Watching the classic Bollywood movie Aitraaz, gave me great insight'

TV's gripping family drama Jamai No. 1 has kept viewers glued ever since its inception with its twists, turns, and intense emotional arcs. Now, in a dramatic new development, Riddhi ( Simaran Kaur ) will take a bold stand as she steps into the courtroom to defend her husband, Neel (Abhishek Malik), who has been falsely accused of a heinous act by Sayli (Sonal Vengurlekar). The upcoming episodes promise to showcase a powerful transformation — Simaran's character evolves from a devoted wife into a fierce lawyer, fighting for justice. What makes this even more special is that Simaran is essaying the role of a lawyer on screen, and she's left no stone unturned to make it authentic and impactful. From understanding legal nuances to watching courtroom dramas for reference, Simaran embraced the challenge head-on. Among her key inspirations was the critically acclaimed Bollywood film Aitraaz, where Kareena Kapoor Khan delivered an unforgettable performance as Advocate Priya Saxena Malhotra, defending her husband in a high-stakes harassment case. Simaran brought the same energy to her role, making Riddhi both fiercely determined and emotionally relatable in the face of injustice in Jamai No 1. Sharing her preparation process, Simaran Kaur said, 'I was really excited when I found out Riddhi would fight Neel's case in the court. It's such a powerful plot progression—from an emotional breakdown to regaining composure and stepping into a courtroom as a woman on a mission, it will definitely inspire many. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Trade Bitcoin & Ethereum – No Wallet Needed! IC Markets Start Now Undo Before portraying the role of a lawyer, I wanted to understand the body language, tone, and confidence that a lawyer exudes. Watching a few courtroom dramas, especially the classic Bollywood movie Aitraaz, gave me great insight, especially about how Kareena's character presents herself in court with quiet strength and strong moral conviction. I took notes on how to build that energy into Riddhi without over dramatising.' She further added, 'It wasn't just about memorising lines—it was about owning that space. I worked with the team on my delivery, rehearsed a lot, and even practised speaking while pacing, just like a real courtroom lawyer. I hope audiences can feel the sincerity and fire that Riddhi brings to the scenes. This track is going to be one of the most empowering chapters for my character yet.' As the show enters this intense legal showdown, the stakes have never been higher. But will Riddhi be able to dismantle Sayli's web of lies and prove Neel's innocence? Or will the courtroom drama tilt in favour of Sayli's manipulative plans?

Simaran Kaur goes undercover in a moustache & wig to rescue Neel in Jamai No. 1, says ' This was one of the most fun and challenging sequences'

TV's light-hearted family drama Jamai No. 1 continues to win over audiences with its mix of laughter, emotion, and unexpected twists. The show follows the journey of Neel (Abhishek Malik), who enters his wife Riddhi's ( Simaran Kaur ) household as a ghar jamai, setting off a series of hilarious and heartfelt events. In the upcoming episodes, the stakes get higher—and funnier—as Riddhi and her entire family pull off a complex rescue mission to help Neel escape trouble at the police station. In a side-splitting yet dramatic sequence, Riddhi goes completely undercover, disguising herself as a male pest control worker—complete with a wig, cap, gloves, overalls, and a convincingly comical moustache. Simaran Kaur's transformation is both impressive and entertaining, adding a delightful twist to the narrative. The entire family poses as a fake pest control team, armed with spray tanks and protective gear, in a desperate bid to break Neel free without raising suspicion. What follows is a chaotic yet emotionally driven sequence that blends comedy, suspense, and family dynamics. Simaran Kaur said, 'This was one of the most fun and challenging sequences I've done on the show so far. The entire process of getting into the look took time—from the wig to fixing the moustache, getting into the overalls, and adjusting my body language to appear like a man. It was hilarious because we all looked so different, my co-actors and I couldn't stop laughing seeing each other in these getups. We even did our own mirror rehearsals just to perfect the walk and mannerisms. As an actor, I love experimenting with new looks and characters, and this disguise gave me a chance to do something completely unexpected. It was a memorable shoot, and I'm sure the audience will enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed performing it!' While Riddhi had fun shooting into this new look for the show, it will be interesting for the viewers to witness if she will be successful in getting Neel out of the police station or will Sayli (Sonal Vengurlekar) will create more difficulties in their lives.

Jamai No. 1's Simaran Kaur as she talks about International Yoga Day: My mornings begin with 10–15 minutes of meditation and deep breathing

As the world prepares to celebrate the 11th International Yoga Day , the 2025 theme — 'Yoga for One Earth, One Health', serves as a timely reminder of the deep and inseparable bond between human well-being and the health of our planet. In a time when modern lifestyles often lead to stress, disconnection, and overconsumption, yoga stands out as a powerful tool to restore balance, not just within ourselves, but also with the environment around us. Rooted in ancient Indian wisdom, yoga encourages mindfulness, discipline, and harmony, qualities that are increasingly relevant today as we grapple with issues like climate change, rising mental health concerns, and fast-paced living. This year's theme reminds us that personal transformation can lead to global impact — and that through small, intentional practices, we can nurture both our inner selves and the Earth. This year, television actress Simaran Kaur , who plays Riddhi in Jamai No. 1, reflects on how yoga has helped her embrace a more holistic, grounded way of life. Simaran Kaur, who essays the role of Riddhi in Jamai No. 1, said, 'For me, yoga has become more than just fitness — it's a bridge between personal wellness and planetary well-being. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Fastest Selling Plots of Mysore from 40L | 40+ Amenities PurpleBrick Learn More Undo I've always been passionate about staying fit, but earlier it was all about cardio and strength training. Over time, I realised that true wellness is holistic — it's about aligning body, mind, and nature. Now, my mornings begin with 10–15 minutes of meditation and deep breathing — often by an open window, letting in the sounds and air of the outside world. It helps me start the day grounded and grateful. Yoga has taught me that being mindful isn't limited to the mat — it extends into how we consume, how we interact with the environment, and how we treat others. After all, a healthy planet begins with a healthy mind and body — and yoga brings us closer to both.' Simaran Kaur: I got my first love letter in school
