Otley Run McDonald's awaits late licence decision
A decision on whether to give a fast food outlet on the route of a notorious pub crawl permission to open till midnight is due to be has applied to serve food beyond 23:00 at its new restaurant at Headingley Central in application, which was heard by councillors on Tuesday, has raised concerns from some people it might exacerbate problems on the Otley Run, which draws thousands of people at the meeting, McDonald's was told it would receive a written decision on its application in five days. Labour councillor James Gibson, who chaired the hearing, said there had been violent incidents among customers at the city centre McDonald's on Lower said: "Lots of people are going there intoxicated and it's leading to problems."However, Mr Williams said CCTV, body cameras and panic buttons would be used to keep staff added: "I don't accept that we are a magnet for problems."The meeting heard a list of conditions had already been agreed with police and the council, including children being supervised after 21:00, checks being made to discourage loitering outside and a telephone number for the manager being made public. Jacksonville Sharks beat Quad City Steamwheelers 65-33
The force was with the Jacksonville Sharks on Stars Wars night at the arena Saturday as they picked up their biggest win of the season over first place Quad City, 65-33. The Sharks offense was on fire, scoring a touchdown on every possession, while the defense made key plays to keep the Steamwheelers in check. Advertisement Tyler Huff, the Sharks quarterback out of Ridgeview High School, had a tremendous night throwing the football and he also ran for three touchdowns. Head Coach James Gibson has been concerned about turnovers but the offense held onto the football and the Sharks defense got some key turnovers to turn a big time matchup into a blowout. The Sharks are now 8-4 on the season while the Steamwheelers drop to 9-3. Next week, the Sharks will face the Iowa Barnstormers on the road looking to secure a playoff spot. Huge money boost for thousands of Irish Revolut customers as bank confirms launch of ‘most sought after' new feature
REVOLUT has announced the launch of a "sought after" new feature for thousands of customers.
