23 Reliance Foundation Athletes Set To Shine At World University Games

23 athletes backed by Reliance Foundation will compete at the World University Games in Germany until July 27th. A contingent of 23 athletes supported by the Reliance Foundation is set to compete at the World University Games across six cities in Germany, with events running until July 27th. Representing athletics, archery, and judo, these young talents aim to improve international rankings, achieve personal bests, and bring home laurels. The athletics team forms the backbone of the foundation's campaign, with 18 athletes competing in sprints, jumps, throws, hurdles, relay, long jump, decathlon, and other events, beginning July 21st. James Hillier, Director of Athletics at Reliance Foundation, emphasised the importance of the World University Games, stating, 'The World University Games is a very important competition for us. It is one of the few opportunities that athletes get to compete in a multi-sport environment. Athletes from different disciplines get to interact with each other and get the best out of their counterparts, which is a big benefit for them." Discussing the expectations for RF athletes, Hillier noted, 'The starting point is for all our athletes to finish ahead of their current ranking. We expect that because we pride ourselves on preparing our athletes better than anybody else – so it is not about who is the best athlete but who is the best-prepared athlete." Animesh Kujur will aim to elevate his performance in the 200m after his recent outings, including his participation in the Meeting Herculis EBS (Monaco Diamond League) in the U23 200m event, as part of his European tour. Similarly, the all-Reliance Foundation relay team comprising Animesh Kujur, Manikanta Hoblidhar, Gurindervir Singh, DM Jayaram, and Lalu Prasad Bhoi will blend camaraderie and capability to reaffirm Reliance Foundation's mission of preparing a world-class relay team. Moumita Mondal achieved a new personal best of 13.24s in the 100m hurdles earlier this month, making her the fourth best in India ever. She will also compete against her RF training partner Ancy Sojan in the long jump, who boasts a personal best of 6.71m. They will look to bring the best out of each other at the World University Games. Quiet Firepower in Archery & Judo: As part of the Reliance Foundation Scholarship Program, the Foundation supports promising athletes in archery and judo who will compete in these tournaments. In Judo? Himanshi Tokas (Below 63kg) – A gold medallist at the Jr. Asian Cup 2025 in Taipei, Himanshi aims to continue her winning streak on the university stage. Shock Emmerdale exit as villain's disturbing plot against Kim Tate takes terrifying twist

EMMERDALE has aired a shock exit for villain Dr Crowley as his plot for Kim Tate took an unexpected twist. The doctor - who is played by actor James Hillier in the ITV soap - has been driven out of the village after trying to blackmail Joe into helping him steal money from millionaire Kim. 2 2 He planned to have Joe drug her, and then transfer the money from her accounts to his before fleeing - but Kim had other ideas. However as Crowley thought he had the upper hand with a paralysed Kim forced to tell him her bank details, he really had no idea who he was dealing with. As he leaned in to try and hear what she was saying more clearly, Kim stabbed him with his own needle and revealed her own plan. While Joe had before been trying to find a way out of it - he did and realised that he could just tell Kim the truth and ignore Crowley's blackmail. He filled her in and she did what she did best and took matters into her own hands. With Shaun already well-aware of just how dangerous Kim could be, she made him realise that he should be on her side. And when he got Crowley into Home Farm, it was all at Kim's behest. Drugged on the bed, Kim interrogated Crowley before giving him a chilling warning. She told him: 'If you even try to mess with us again, they'll never find your body. Nothing personal, it's purely business.' Later, still shaken, Kim took Joe to task after he ensured Crowley and Shaun was out of their lives for good. Emmerdale villain returns to torture Joe Tate in grisly scenes 'Kim I am so sorry,' he told her. 'He drugged me, I was terrified. I've never been so helpless in my life. I would never have let him hurt you.' But Kim told him: 'I'm sorry Joe but I'm struggling to believe a single word you say anymore.' Darkest soap storylines Over the years the likes of EastEnders, Emmerdale and Coronation Street have all tried to try outdo each other with their outlandish plots in a bid to keep us tuning in each week. But here are some of the darkest that had fans in shock... EastEnders: Tony grooming Whitney (2008-2009) - Tony King first appeared in Albert Square in 2008 as the boyfriend of Bianca, played by Patsy Palmer. But it was quickly revealed he was a paedophile who had been grooming vulnerable Whitney, Bianca's adopted stepdaughter from a previous relationship, since she was 12. The shocking storyline attracted more than 200 complaints within a week of it beginning. Whitney waited until her 16th birthday to reveal the truth to a horrified Bianca, who called the police. Emmerdale: Holly's drug addiction and shock death (2010-2016) - In 2010, Holly Barton (played by Sophie Powles) became Emmerdale's first teenage drug addict. The shocking storyline saw her taking cocaine on a night out before developing a deadly heroin habit. Parents John and Moira desperately tried to help get their daughter clean but when Holly returned in 2016, following a four-year absence, she quickly relapsed. Fans were left stunned and heartbroken when distraught Moira found Holly dead in her bed from a heroin overdose. Hollyoaks: Luke's rape (2000) - Actor Gary Lucy was just 17 when he took on this groundbreaking storyline, which saw his character Luke Morgan become soap's first male rape victim. Luke had endured a long-running bullying campaign by football rival Mark Gibbs - who raped him after Luke stood up to him. Luke was left suicidal following the brutal attack, before opening up to his brother Adam. Gibbs was sentenced to eight years in prison. Gary won the Best Actor gong at the British Soap Awards in 2000 for his performance. Coronation Street: Evil Richard Hillman (2001-2003) - Just a mere mention of 'Richard Hillman' is enough to send a shiver down the spines of soap fans. He is often ranked one of the most evil soap villains and it's not hard to see why. The smooth-talking financial adviser bashed his ex-wife Patricia over the head with a shovel. In a bid to keep his mother-in-law Audrey quiet, he set fire to her house. And when Maxine caught him trying to murder Emily Bishop, he took a crowbar to her head. He made his exit from the cobbles in 2003 when he drove Gail Platt, played by Helen Worth, and her family into the canal. They survived, but he didn't. You brought him into our lives and once again it's me who had to pay the price. The first man I met after Will. I let my guard down and look what happens. It took a long time for me to trust you and now we're back at square one.' 'This will never happen again,' said Joe, promising to rebuild their trust.

'Extreme' storyline Emmerdale fans want to end as it's 'mind-numbingly tedious'

Emmerdale fans are calling for one of its ongoing storylines to end, with it being labelled "mind-numbingly tedious". Those who watch the ITV soap have been discussing the plot surrounding Joe Tate and the recently returned Dr Crowley. The pair has a previous history together as part of Joe's previous kidney transplant story. Now, the doctor, played by James Hillier, has returned to seek revenge. James Hillier's character last appeared on the ITV soap back in March. Joe was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease and hired the shady doctor to treat him and secure him a kidney transplant. After Joe's paternal half-uncle, Caleb Miligan, was found to be a donor match, his kidney was taken after he was stabbed. Following this, Dr Crowley transplanted it into Joe before fleeing the country, and that was the last heard from him... until now. Having returned to the soap this week, Joe was knocked unconscious and woke up in a makeshift hospital room to find Crowley. He revealed that he gave Joe an epidural and "numbed the lower spine, along with the upper, near the base of the skull", meaning Joe was left paralysed. It was revealed that Shaun, who arrived with Joe's laptop, had been secretly working for Crowley. Despite originally refusing, following the threat of torture, Joe reveals the passwords and Shaun transfers £105,000 to Crowley's account. Following Dr Crowley's return on the ITV show, fans have been discussing the ongoing storyline, and some are not impressed. Joe Tate hired the shady doctor to treat him and secure him a kidney transplant after being diagnosed with chronic kidney disease. Joe and Dr Crowley spiked Joe's half-brother, Noah Dingle, but he proved not to be a match. Joe's paternal half-uncle, Caleb Miligan, was later found to be a match, so Joe took his kidney after Caleb was stabbed. Dr Crowley transplanted it into Joe before fleeing the country, with it later revealed that he may have told Joe a fake name. At the time of the storyline, Emmerdale viewers were full of theories surrounding the dodgy doctor. A post was made on the r/Emmerdale Reddit page, one fan said: "I just find Dr Crowley such a weird addition to the show and Joe's storyline. "Something is telling me that either he isn't really a doctor, or he has ties to the Tates. "Why would he help Joe and go to so much length and secrecy to do so? How comes only Joe has seen him, and no one's seen him sneaking into home farm?" They also questioned why the relationship between Joe and Crowley appeared to be "a bit closer than doctor and patient". Another said: "He's probably just some dodgy private doctor willing to go to lengths as Joe is willing to pay." However, others questioned whether he was a real doctor at all. Now, the villain is on his way back to Emmerdale to exact revenge on Joe. Spoilers for this week reveal that Joe wakes up in a makeshift hospital after being knocked out. Dr Crowley is revealed to be watching over Joe, with the exact nature of his revenge unknown. Some fans believe he has a connection to a character already on the show. One said: "Omg it's the doctor that Kim's dating." Another added: "I think Crowley is Kim's new interest." Teasing the situation to The Sun, actor Ned Porteous, who plays Joe, spoke about the moment his character wakes up to see the doctor looking on. He said: "[Joe's] very confused, very scared. A very powerless situation for Joe to be in." On working with James again, he added: "He's a really, really lovely guy. Emmerdale villain to make shock return – just months after dramatic exit

AN EMMERDALE villain is making a shock return to the village - just months after his dramatic exit. The ITV soap is bringing back the mysterious Dr Crowley for a revenge plot against Joe Tate. 2 2 Viewers will remember that Crowley was the doctor who helped Joe in his organ steaming scam. With Joe needing a new organ to survive, Joe paid the doctor handsomely to illegal operate on an unwilling victim in order to save Joe's life. He ended up taking Caleb Miligan's kidney after he was stabbed and transplanting it into Joe before fleeing the country. However he will now make a shock return and take Joe captive with a fiendish plan. Actor James Hillier will be back on screens next week as part of the plot. Joe actor Ned Porteous has opened up about the moment Joe finds himself knocked out and coming to in a makeshift operating theatre while the bad doctor looks on. "[Joe's] very confused, very scared,' he said. 'A very powerless situation for Joe to be in." And talking about working with James again, Ned said: "He's a really, really lovely guy. "I enjoy working with him, and the character that he built is fun, it's got more dimensions than just a helper, and it serves as a very interesting character going forward. Watch the moment Emmerdale's Caleb tries to KILL Joe after discovering the truth about his stolen kidney "Hopefully the audience likes what we do with it, because it all gets a bit crazy." He added of Joe: "I like to believe that he's just doing what he has to do to survive, and I think if you were to hold that mirror up to everyone and say, 'What would you do if your life really depended on it?' Could you really ask yourself... you wouldn't do that? "People say that they wouldn't want to, and it's not the right thing to do. Of course it's the wrong thing to do, it's completely unethical, it's completely immoral, but he was fighting for his life and now he's just having to pick up the scraps, I guess."
