Looking for something intellectual to chew on? Prime Video's sci-fi movies section is bigger than ever, but with so many titles flooding in regularly, you might have trouble figuring out what to watch first. While flashy blockbusters and well-known franchises tend to hog the spotlight, there's a deep bench of underrated, thought-provoking science fiction films that deserve your time. New Rumor Claims Marvel's VISION Series Will Use Human Versions of the MCU's AI Characters — GeekTyrant
Over the last year, we've seen a lot of casting news from Marvel's Vision series, and we've seen a lot of great actors join the series. While we don't have a ton of info on the show's synopsis, a new rumor about the show certainly lines up with the roles that have been cast. Paul Bettany stars in the series as a new version of Vision, White Vision, after he lost the Mind Stone and had his memories restored by the Hex Vision. He will be joined by Emily Hampshire, who will be playing E.D.I.T.H. the sleek, intimidating AI system originally created by Tony Stark; James Spader reprising his iconic role as Ultron; T'Nia Miller as Jocasta (another familiar AI name from Marvel lore); Faran Tahir, who returns as Raza, a character we last saw in Iron Man, as well as Todd Stashwick, and Ruaridh Mollica. Industry scooper Daniel Richtman has proven himself a reliable source for Vision intel, and he's just shared a big update on plans for the WandaVision follow-up (via CBM). He claims that the AI characters will appear in human form for most of Vision to save on VFX costs and to help get the series on Disney+ as soon as early 2026. It's a smart decision on Marvel Studios' part if true, though we do hope to see the likes of Ultron and Jocasta get some memorable moments in their robot forms, too. The solid cast list makes sense for this news, as they are bringing in some great actors to bring these characters to life. I think this series sounds like it's shaping up to be really new and original, and I am really looking forward to seeing how it plays out. Emily Hampshire Joins VISION as E.D.I.T.H.
Emily Hampshire is boarding Marvel's Vision s eries. Vision Hampshire will play E.D.I.T.H., a Tony Stark-crafted A.I. whose name stands for 'Even Dead, I'm the Hero.' In addition to Hampshire, James Spader will return as Ultron. The Vision series on Disney+ has announced another cast member. Emily Hampshire ( Schitt's Creek ) will join the series as E.D.I.T.H., an A.I. created by Tony Stark. Originally introduced in 2019's Spider-Man: Far From Home , E.D.I.T.H. is just one of several returning Marvel Cinematic Universe characters who will appear in the show. Vision on Disney+ Vision is the second spinoff of the first MCU series on Disney+, WandaVision . Last year, Agatha All Along claimed the title of the first spinoff. Terry Matalas will serve as showrunner for Vision and is presumed to direct at least one episode. Previously, Matalas served as showrunner for Star Trek: Picard Season 3, so you know he has experience with returning characters. Recalling Vision's origins, E.D.I.T.H. is a Stark-crafted A.I. whose name is an acronym. E.D.I.T.H. is short for 'Even Dead, I'm The Hero.' In Far From Home , E.D.I.T.H. allowed Peter Parker (Tom Holland) to access the late Stark's weapon systems. In addition to Paul Bettany as the title character and Hampshire as E.D.I.T.H., Vision will see the return of James Spader as Ultron. Previously, variants of Ultron appeared in What If…? on Disney+ and in 2022's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness . However, in those appearances, the role was played by Ross Marquand. Also returning will be Faran Tahir as Raza Hamidmi al-Wazar. The commander of a Ten Rings terrorist cell in Afghanistan, Raza first appeared in 2008's Iron Man . Emily Hampshire Confirmed To Join Marvel's VISION as E.D.I.T.H., Tony Stark's Former AI — GeekTyrant
Schitt's Creek breakout Emily Hampshire has officially joined the cast of Marvel's upcoming Vision series for Disney+. It was rumored last week and now Deadline confirms Hampshire will be playing E.D.I.T.H. the sleek, intimidating AI system originally created by Tony Stark. That's right. E.D.I.T.H., which is short for Even Dead, I'm The Hero, is back. First introduced in Spider-Man: Far From Home as Stark's posthumous gift to Peter Parker, the advanced AI system offers control over a global satellite defense network and a fleet of weaponized drones. Now, it seems E.D.I.T.H. will have a more prominent role and a new personality behind the voice. Hampshire joins Paul Bettany, who returns as the titular synthezoid Vision in this WandaVision spinoff. She'll appear alongside a cast that already includes James Spader reprising his iconic role as Ultron, T'Nia Miller as Jocasta (another familiar AI name from Marvel lore), as well as Todd Stashwick, Ruaridh Mollica, and Faran Tahir, who returns as Raza, a character we last saw in Iron Man. With all of these characters in the series, Vision is shaping up to be a deep dive into the evolving world of artificial intelligence in the MCU, and the moral minefields that come with it. Hampshire is best known for her deadpan brilliance as Stevie Budd on Schitt's Creek , a role that earned her and the cast a Screen Actors Guild Award. She's also fresh off starring in the Prime Video thriller The Rig and will next appear opposite Vince Vaughn in the 20th Century Studios comedy Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice . The Vision series marks Marvel's second spinoff from WandaVision , following the upcoming Agatha All Along , and is one of several shows currently in active development, including Daredevil: Born Again .

Vision Quest Casts Ultron's Wife Jocasta and Human Version of EDITH
We've barely gotten any updates on Disney+'s Vision Quest series, but we've been getting some new casting rumors about characters that will be appearing in the show–specifically other AI like Vision. Besides the return of James Spader as Ultron, Deadline has also reported that T'Nia Miller ( The Haunting of Bly Manor ) has been cast as Jocasta in the series. In the comics, Jocasta was a robot created by Ultron (just like Vision) with the intention to put Janet Van Dyne's (The Wasp) consciousness inside her and make her his robot wife. Apparently that backfires and Jocasta ends up being a force for good. With the changes in Ultron's origins in the MCU, it would be possible that Jocasta's origins will be different, but the leaked concept art for Doomsday did feature concept art for Jocasta who was also played by Michelle Pfeiffer (a.k.a. Janet from Quantumania ). Besides Miller, there is also a rumor going around that Emily Hampshire ( Schitt's Creek ) has also been cast in the series as the human version of EDITH—the AI that was gifted to Peter Parker in Spider-Man: Far from Home . EDITH hasn't been explored or mentioned since that movie, but it would make sense for a show about Vision to delve into all the other AI characters in the MCU. I wouldn't be surprised if the original JARVIS showed up, or other AI like Tony Stark's Friday—the AI that helps him right after he lost JARVIS to Ultron. Vision Quest is expected to release on Disney+ sometime in 2026.
