Three Antrim companies employing nearly 200 people go into administration
Insolvency experts from Keenan Corporate Finance in Belfast were appointed administrators to Jans Composites, Jans Offsite Solutions and Etrux on Wednesday. All three firms were based at Caulside Drive in Antrim. At Jans Composites, there was a workforce of 51 in 2023. The companies, and Keenan Corporate Finance, have been asked for comment. The Jans Group employs around 200 people in total in fields such as campervans, modular builds, electric commercial vehicles and composite manufacturing. In 2023, the company announced the acquisition of BlueMAC, a specialist firm in the manufacture of material processing systems and waste recycling facilities. Other companies in the group, such as Jans Lifestyle, which specialises in campervan rentals and sales, are not affected by the administration. Jans Holding is run by directors Peter Drayne and Ronan Hamill. Jans Composites specialises in lightweight but durable GRP (glass reinforced plastic) products, while Etrux operates in the hire, lease, purchase and conversion of commercial vehicles. Jans Offsite Solutions constructs buildings off-site. In 2023, Etrux and Jabs Composites announced they were sponsoring the Queen's University Formula Racing (QFR) team in the Institute of Mechanical Engineers' Formula Student event at Silverstone. In 2021, the group announced a major expansion and £10m investment with the aim of adding 150 jobs to its workforce. In 2019, it acquired a composites business from the Wright Group of companies, following its administration.
