Valencia star negotiating contract renewal

A leading member of the midfield ranks at La Liga outfit Valencia is negotiating the terms of a contract renewal with the club. That's according to club insider Héctor Gómez, who points towards Javi Guerra as the player in question. The name of youngster Guerra has proven a prominent one in the headlines surrounding Valencia across the summer to date. This comes after the 22-year-old was hotly tipped for an incoming Mestalla departure. Italian heavyweights AC Milan, for one, are understood to have expressed a keen interest in Guerra's services with a view to next season. As alluded to above, though, if the latest word stemming from the Spanish media on Wednesday is anything to go by, then the midfield starlet appears to be increasingly open to staying put in Valencia. As per a report from journalist Héctor Gómez: 'Javi Guerra is negotiating the offer that Valencia presented to him on Friday. He positively values the step and the offer that the club has proposed. 'Details such as first-year salary, bonuses, release clause' are under discussion. Conor Laird – GSFN

Man Utd target ‘REJECTS latest contract offer from Valencia as Red Devils prepare to make £22m bid'

JAVI GUERRA has reportedly rejected a contract offer from Valencia amid interest from Manchester United. The 22-year-old has been on the Red Devils' shortlist for the past 18 months after lighting up LaLiga in midfield. 1 Guerra, who stands at 6ft 2in tall, has scored eight goals in 89 games for Valencia as a box-to-box whiz. He's been tipped for a senior Spain call-up after 21 caps for their U21s. And United are said to be interested in bringing Guerra to England. Now, Marca claims they have been given a huge boost after the ace rejected a new contract offer. Valencia are eager to tie him down to fresh terms, with Guerra's current deal expiring in 2027. Should they sell, Valencia want £18m in cash. Bizarrely, United are reportedly willing to pay £22m. But there's a catch, as Guerra is part-owned by Valencia's Spanish rivals Villarreal. They hold 30 per cent of his rights. And with Valencia demanding at least £18m, it means United would have to actually offer £25m. Whether a bid arrives for Guerra this summer remains to be seen, with the Red Devils well-stocked in midfield. Manuel Ugarte, Kobbie Mainoo and Casemio are all natural holders, while Bruno Fernandes and Mason Mount are also capable of going in the two. Toby Collyer impressed when featuring there last season too. And United may feel they need to strengthen other areas of the squad first.

Manchester United target 'rejects new contract offer at current club - with wantaway player valued at £23.4m'

A Valencia star has reportedly rejected a new contract offer having been linked with a transfer to Manchester United this summer. The player in question has made 82 league appearances for the LaLiga outfit having spent two years with their youth teams. According to Spanish publication Marca, he has opted to turn down fresh terms to keep him at the Mestalla within the past week. It is still claimed that the Red Devils are keeping an eye on the player and are working behind the scenes to bring him to Old Trafford. That is none other than midfielder Javi Guerra, who has been a regular member of Spain's U21 squads and scored a penalty in their European Championships quarter-final defeat to England last month. Guerra and his agent have allegedly decide to wait for 'something better' from Valencia, who are willing to sell him for no less than £17million. Their valuation may put United in a strong position to be able to buy him as they are prepared to spend up to £22million on the Spaniard. The potential for Guerra to depart the club comes after they already lost one of their key players to another Premier League club after Christian Mosquera agreed to join Arsenal. Mail Sport reported last Sunday that talks had advanced last weekend and the 21-year old agreed personal terms with Arsenal. The Spaniard underwent a medical earlier this week ahead of joining the Gunners in £13million deal with added bonus payments. Mosquera can play at both centre-back and right-back and will fill the gap in the squad left by the departure of Takehiro Tomiyasu, who mutually agreed to terminate his contract. The Spain Under-21 international has made 90 appearances for Valencia and was a regular last season, playing the full match in 37 of the club's 38 La Liga games. Meanwhile, Arsenal are finalising details with Sporting Lisbon for the transfer of Victor Gyokeres. Arteta's side have already signed Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad, Christian Norgaard from Brentford and Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea as Mikel Arteta looks to strengthen his squad following another runner's-up finish in the Premier League. Arsenal also confirmed the arrival of Madueke from Chelsea on Friday in a deal worth an initial £48million, rising to £52m. The 23-year-old will wear the number 20 shirt and is set to join up with his new teammates in early August, having been involved in Chelsea's Club World Cup campaign earlier this summer. Arsenal are also keen to add another attacking option with Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace high on their list of targets.

Manchester United Have A Verbal Agreement With This La Liga Midfielder: Should Amorim Go For Him?

In a recent post on X, journalist Daniele Longo stated that Manchester United have a verbal agreement with Valencia midfielder Javi Guerra. However, it is understood that the Red Devils have still not agreed on a deal with the Spanish club and could face competition in the form of other clubs from Spain and England in pursuit of the Spanish midfield ace this summer. Guerra's Impressive Form In La Liga Last Season Guerra enjoyed a solid campaign at the Spanish club after he put in a series of impressive displays for them at the centre of the park. The 22-year-old registered three goals and three assists in 38 matches for Valencia last season across all fronts. The Spanish talent anchored the midfield well as he made 50 tackles, 15 blocks and 20 interceptions in La Liga. He even distributed the ball relatively well based on his pass completion rate of 77.9% in the Spanish top tier (stats via His current contract at the Spanish club will run out in the summer of 2027. Therefore, it won't be easy for Man United to sign him on the cheap this off-season. Should Manchester United Boss Ruben Amorim Go For Guerra? Guerra is a solid tackler of the ball and can time his challenges well to earn the ball back for his team inside his half. He usually puts his foot through the ball when the opposition are on the offensive and is a tidy passer of the ball as well. The Spanish talent can chip in by scoring and creating a few important goals for his team. Guerra mainly operates as a box-to-box midfielder but can also play as an attacking midfielder or as a defensive midfielder if required. However, he might need some time to adapt to the physical side and high intensity of the Premier League. We can expect Guerra to add more bite and steel to Man United boss Ruben Amorim's midfield. He might even serve as a decent, long-term replacement for Casemiro, who has entered the final stage of his playing career. At 22, Guerra has the potential to be a future star in the Premier League. Therefore, it makes sense for Man United to go for a player of his quality this summer.
