Jax Taylor plans to 'prioritise his sobriety'
Jax Taylor has terminated his affiliation with his Los Angeles bar. The 46-year-old reality TV star - who has been open about his addiction struggles in recent months - has ended his affiliation with Jax's Studio City, following his recent exit from The Valley. A spokesperson for Jax told Us Weekly that he's made "a carefully considered and necessary step to prioritise his sobriety and mental health". The news was confirmed shortly after TMZ observed that Jax's name had been removed from the marquee signage at the Studio City bar. Jax - who spent time in rehab in 2024, amid struggles with addiction - announced that he was leaving The Valley earlier this month. The reality star explained at the time that he intended to focus his attention on his sobriety, mental health, and coparenting. Jax - who has Cruz, four, with his estranged wife Brittany Cartwright - told Us Weekly: "After an incredibly challenging year and many honest conversations with my team and producers, I'll be stepping away from the next season of The Valley. Right now, my focus needs to be on my sobriety, my mental health, and coparenting. Taking this time is necessary for me to become the best version of myself — especially for our son, Cruz." Despite this, Jax subsequently suggested that he could return to The Valley at some point in the future. The TV star - who has been married to Brittany since 2019 - explained that he was simply taking "a pause" from the show. He said on his In the Mind of Jax Taylor podcast: "Myself, my team [and] the producers got together [and] we decided to take a break from season three. This is not goodbye. This is kind of just a pause on things. The more I talked about it with everybody, it just didn't seem to make a lot of sense [to] me." Season two of The Valley explored Jax's acrimonious split from Brittany Cartwright and the reality star hopes to "heal" during his time off-screen. Jax said: "We get past a lot of stuff after filming and then we have to relive it again. You know when the show comes on, so that kind of never allows the wound to technically heal because now the scab keeps getting ripped open."

The filing arrived just days after Taylor completed a 30-day inpatient treatment plan for his mental health struggles, as confirmed via a statement to Us from a representative for Taylor at the time. Us also recently exclusively confirmed that Taylor will be leaving The Valley ahead of season 3 of Bravo's hit reality series. If my friends are out drinking, I usually don't stay more than an hour,' he said. 'When people have been hitting their third drinks, it's very annoying to be around those people. … I just don't want to be around it.' Instead of going out to a bar, Taylor prefers spending quality time in the gym where he can lift nearly 300 pounds. Who Can Speak to Jax Taylor's Progress? Ever since The Valley wrapped filming season 2, Taylor said he has been trying to avoid any and all drama with the cast. While some costars have been asked to comment on Taylor's progress since he sought treatment for his mental health, the Bravo star said Tom Schwartz is the best to speak about any changes. 'The only person who has seen me consistently is Tom,' Taylor said. 'As far as him and I hanging out, he's always like, 'You're so much calmer. You're so much more alert.' He always gives me a lot of props of how I've been handling all of this because it is a lot. I haven't been around everybody so how would anybody know?' How Often Does Jax Taylor See His Son? While recent episodes of The Valley show Taylor fighting to see his 4-year-old son Cruz, things have improved since filming wrapped. 'I see Cruz a lot, probably between two and four times a week,' he claimed. 'There's no full custody thing. That never happened. Brittany and I have different schedules.' How Is Jax Taylor's Coparenting Relationship With Brittany Cartwright? 'Coparenting right now is going as good as it can be,' Taylor revealed on the podcast. 'Could it be better? Sure. Could it be worse? Absolutely. I can't complain about it. I think it's going pretty well.' Are Tom Schwartz and Lala Kent Dating? Although both parties have already denied any and all dating rumors, Taylor also confirmed that his two former Vanderpump Rules costars are not a romantic item. 'Lala would eat him to death,' Taylor joked in response to the rumors. Taylor also wanted to set the record straight that he has never hooked up with Kent, 34. Solve the daily Crossword

Tamra Judge Throws Shade at Jax Taylor's Exit From ‘The Valley' After 2 Seasons: ‘So He Was Fired'
Tamra Judge has a theory behind Jax Taylor's exit from The Valley after two seasons. 'One other little snippet that I just read while we were on this podcast … Jax said he's not returning [to The Valley],' Teddi Mellencamp said on the Thursday, July 17, episode of her and Tamra's 'Two T's in a Pod' podcast. In response, Tamra, 57, asked, 'So, he's fired?' Teddi, 44, told her that Jax, 46, had said in a recent statement that he wanted to 'focus on his mental health.' Jax Taylor Is Leaving 'The Valley' Ahead of Season 3: 'An Incredibly Challenging Year' 'So, he was fired,' Tamra replied. 'OK.' Us Weekly broke the news on Wednesday, July 16, that Jax planned to exit The Valley ahead of its third season. 'After an incredibly challenging year and many honest conversations with my team and producers, I'll be stepping away from the next season of The Valley,' Jax told Us in an exclusive statement. 'Right now, my focus needs to be on my sobriety, my mental health and coparenting. Taking this time is necessary for me to become the best version of myself — especially for our son, Cruz.' Jax shares Cruz, 4, with estranged wife Brittany Cartwright, who filed for divorce last year while they were filming The Valley season 2. Amid their divorce, Jax voluntarily checked himself into a rehab facility for mental health struggles. 'A little over a month ago, I checked into an intensive inpatient treatment facility, scared of the unknown and what I would find out about myself,' he wrote in a September 2024 Instagram statement. 'After many years of knowing something was wrong but not knowing exactly what it was, I recently learned that I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and PTSD.' Brittany Cartwright Thinks Jax Taylor Would Have Skipped Rehab If 'His Job Wasn't on the Line' He added, 'It's been a lot to process and an emotional time for me, however, I've come home to my son with a newfound sense of peace. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't scared for the future, but my focus is just trying to be a better version of myself than I was yesterday. Mental health is a lifelong battle of not letting it control you but rather you learning to control it.' Jax later revealed his sobriety challenges, noting in March that he had dealt with a cocaine addiction and is now sober. 'My life has changed dramatically. I'm probably the healthiest I've ever been, I feel the best I've ever been,' he told Us in a cover story that same month. 'And I don't put myself in situations I'm not comfortable with. I know it's weird because I do own a bar, but I'm a very strong person. If I say I'm not going to do something, I'm not going to do it.' Solve the daily Crossword
