On July 5, NBA reporter Shams Charania reported that the Memphis Grizzlies are trading Jay Huff to the Indiana Pacers. Memphis will receive a second-round pick and the chance to swap another second-round pick. The report was shared by @ClutchPointsNBA on X with details from Charania.
Jay Huff signed a two-way contract with the Grizzlies last year. He mostly played with their G League team but is known for his defense and outside shooting. Even though he didn't play much in the NBA last season, his height and skills made him a strong option for teams needing size and shooting.

Jay Daniel Huff was not chosen for the 2021 NBA draft. He played briefly at Los Angeles Lakers and the Washington Wizards before landing in Memphis.
At 7 feet and 1, Huff brings edge protection and can reach three points, something that is valuable in today's game.

With this trade, the Indiana Pacers get another big man who fits their style. It's not clear yet if Huff will join the main Pacers roster or spend time with their G League team. But the team wants more players who can stretch the floor and defend.
