The role of gut microbiota Known for its role in digestion and immune function, microbiota involves gazillions of microorganisms existing in the human gut. According to the urologist, if there is an imbalance of the microbiome, known as dysbiosis, it leads to health issues. 'During this stage, it could trigger kidney disease and hamper everyday life. Dysbiosis induces uremic toxins like indole and p-cresol, causing the buildup of harmful substances,' he explained. In individuals facing kidney issues, the toxins accumulate or, worse, mingle with the blood flow. Traditional fishing festival draws thousands at Periya Kanmai

1 2 3 4 Madurai: The annual fishing festival at Cholappereri Kanmai, popularly known as Periya Kanmai, was celebrated in grand traditional style on Saturday near Thiruvadhavur in Melur taluk. More than a thousand people from nearby villages and neighbouring districts, including Sivagangai and Dindigul, gathered for the event. The day began with rituals led by village elders, accompanied by the beat of traditional drums and fireworks. Following the ceremonial tossing of white feathers into the tank—a symbolic gesture allowing fishing to begin—participants of all ages waded into the water using traditional tools such as kacha, uttha, and baskets. Local fish varieties such as kendai (carp) and catla, some weighing up to 10 kg, were caught. In keeping with tradition, the catch was not sold but shared, cooked, and eaten on-site, underscoring the spirit of unity and community. "This festival is not just about fishing. It's about unity, faith in the rains, and agricultural prosperity," said a village elder. Locals believe that the festival invokes good rainfall and ensures a bountiful harvest. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Investire è più facile che mai BG SAXO Scopri di più Undo However, concerns were raised over ecological changes. Jayaraj, a participant from Dindigul, warned about the growing presence of tank cleaner fish—an invasive species previously confined to the Vaigai. "These fish are spreading across tanks in Madurai and threatening native species. The fisheries department should intervene before it's too late," he said. KL Rahul's Childhood Coach Makes Big Prediction On India Star: "In England..."

In his first red-ball outing in nearly five months, KL Rahul smashed a sublime century on Day 1 of the second unofficial Test between India A and England Lions. It was a statement knock from Rahul, with days left for the start of the all-important five-match Test series against England. With Rohit Sharma not part of the Test setup anymore, following his retirement last month, Rahul's composed 116 at the top might just cement his place as India's designated opener, alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal, during the tour. So far in his Test career, Rahul has been the crisis man for India, batting at different positions as per the demand of the team. However, Rahul's childhood coach Samuel Jayraj revealed that his former student has been taking up challenges since his early playing days. "If you ask me, as a coach, this isn't surprising. He was always ready. He was also a wicketkeeper. He would smartly rotate strike, taking singles on the fourth, fifth, or sixth ball, then face the next over. He follows instructions really well. If you noticed in the Champions Trophy, his role was very specific-and he executed it perfectly," Jayaraj told Times of India. "In fact, despite having a very good ODI World Cup, he wasn't picked for the T20 World Cup. He didn't crib or get frustrated. Because he has seen these things as a kid. That's why he's so strong today both mentally and technically. And that's his biggest strength. He's matured a lot. He's been playing cricket at a high level for 10 years now. That experience shows. If you watch him now, he's a completely different player - much calmer, composed, and in control. For me, that calmness is what stands out the most," he added. Jayaraj also feels the world will witness an improved version of Rahul in England, highlighting his mental strength and technique to thrive in red-ball cricket. "I always tell him just one thing - enjoy and become. That's always been my message, my mantra, even my password, you could say. You have to enjoy what you do. You have to be happy. If you're not happy, your body simply won't respond the way you want it to," Jayaraj said. "For me, form is temporary - but the skill and technique you develop stay with you forever. Honestly, when he was playing state and zonal matches in Mangalore and Bangalore, we coaches always had the red ball in mind. We didn't really think much about white-ball cricket back then. So the foundation he built - the technique and skill - was rooted in red-ball cricket," the coach added. "In England, a more and more matured KL Rahul will be seen," a confident Jayaraj remarked. ‘KL Rahul didn't crib, he has seen such things': India star made short detour before England tour, tipped for redemption

KL Rahul made a strong return to India colours with a century for India A against England Lions, staking his claim for a key role in the upcoming five-Test series against England. Rahul has been a regular for India in ODIs and Tests, and with a century in the tour match, he has all but sealed a spot in the XI when India take on England in the first Test in Headingley. The star batter has long been a vital figure in India's red-ball setup, and his responsibilities – not just with the bat, but also with leadership – are likely to increase as India tour England under first-time captain, Shubman Gill. Throughout his career across formats, Rahul has shunted between various positions in the batting order. Even during India's previous Test series against Australia Down Under, Rahul played as an opener and in the middle-order once Rohit Sharma returned to the XI. However, with no Rohit in the Test setup any longer, it is expected that the Karnataka batter will have a more cemented role. Rahul's childhood coach, Samuel Jayaraj, believes that mental toughness, developed over years of dealing with challenges, is what helped Rahul keep his head grounded and overcome the disappointment of not being part of India's T20I team, which won the World Cup last year. 'If you ask me, as a coach, this isn't surprising. He was always ready. He was also a wicketkeeper. He would smartly rotate strike, taking singles on the fourth, fifth, or sixth ball, then face the next over. He follows instructions really well. If you noticed in the Champions Trophy, his role was very specific—and he executed it perfectly,' Jayaraj said. 'In fact, despite having a very good ODI World Cup, he wasn't picked for the T20 World Cup. He didn't crib or get frustrated. Because he has seen these things as a kid. That's why he's so strong today both mentally and technically. And that's his biggest strength. He's matured a lot. He's been playing cricket at a high level for 10 years now. That experience shows. If you watch him now, he's a completely different player — much calmer, composed, and in control. For me, that calmness is what stands out the most,' he added. Ahead of the England tour, Jayaraj met Rahul briefly and reiterated a lifelong mantra that he says continues to guide his ward. "I always tell him just one thing — enjoy and become. That's always been my message, my mantra, even my password, you could say. You have to enjoy what you do. You have to be happy. If you're not happy, your body simply won't respond the way you want it to,' Jayaraj said. "In England, a more and more matured KL Rahul will be seen."
