This arrival marked a significant shift for Mai, who had previously and publicly declared that she was content with never having children. According to Blast, her decision to embrace motherhood came after falling in love with Jeezy, leading her to reconsider her earlier stance on having a family. However, the couple's marital journey proved to be short-lived, culminating in a divorce that was finalized earlier in 2025. As BOSSIP reported, the path to divorce for Mai and Jeezy was marked by a series of contentious 'back-and-forth court proceedings.' During the process, the rapper and his attorney accused Mai of launching a 'defamation campaign' against him. Jeannie Mai's Co-Parenting Struggles: Navigating Life Apart, Loving From Afar Jeannie Mai's co-parenting relationship has presented new challenges, which she shared through a 'vacay dump' on Instagram. Mai openly acknowledged that every time Monaco is away with Jeezy, she uses that opportunity to take a break and reflect on her experiences with this form of parenting. In her own words, 'It's harder than I ever imagined – loving her so much, but loving her from far away. There is no guidebook for this part of motherhood.' Despite the 'crumbling feeling' of missing her child when they are apart, Mai expressed her understanding that it is part of the 'job' and that it is essential to continue loving herself to give Monaco all the love in return. This period of solitude also serves as a crucial reminder that she is a woman with her own needs and deserves happiness. Mai concluded her touching post with these reflective words: 'To every mama sharing her child, this is your reminder; your happiness is not separate from theirs. When you shine, they feel it too.' Becoming a single mother was never what Mai had envisioned when she married Jeezy. However, she has found unexpected balance and empowerment in this new phase of her life. She lauded single mothers who navigate similar experiences, sharing her insights on The Sherri Show . 'You don't ideally think to have a child and have that whole responsibility to yourself. But I realized that the gift of being a single mom is that you learn how to trust yourself,' she stated. Jeannie Mai's Heartfelt Post Is a Love Letter ‘To All My Co-parenting Mamas'
It's no secret that the apple of Jeannie Mai's eye is her daughter Monaco, but during those moments where Monaco is with her dad Jeezy, Mai uses the time to reconnect with herself. And by doing so, she's made a love letter to fellow moms co-parenting, and it's a must-read! Earlier this week, Mai posted a series of photos about her life co-parenting with her ex. She shared the photos to Instagram with the caption reading, 'To all my co-parenting mamas out there: You're proof that love can thrive in any situation. ❤️' More from SheKnows Nicole Kidman's Rarely-Seen Daughter Faith Made Her Subtle Modeling Debut Alongside Her Mom She starts the post with another caption reading, 'Every time Coco is with her other home, I take this time for me. This is what co-parenting looks like – a heart split in two places, but still learning how to beat fully.' Mai shows her time on vacation without Coco, noting that there's 'no guidebook for this part of motherhood.' While she misses Monaco so much, she notes the 'little joys' like taking a trip, a Hugo spritz, and more, also noting how the time alone reminds her, 'I'm not just a mom. I'm a woman who dreams, who laughs, who lives.' She then ends the thoughtful post with another reminder to her fellow moms: 'To every mama sharing her child, this is your reminder: your happiness is not separate from theirs. When you shine, they feel it, too.' For those who don't know, back in January 2022, Mai and her ex-husband Jeezy welcomed their daughter, Monaco, into the world. During a Nov 2022 interview with PEOPLE, Mai said, 'I used to be, well, I still am a boss, I can get it done by myself, but I ain't that bossy by myself as a mom, I need help.' She added, 'I need my mom giving me advice, I need all the other moms around this area to tell me what you do with a 10-month-old. Every other week there's some new thing that comes up with her that I got to ask and check about and I call, I listen to my friends and my pediatrician before I listen to the internet or Google. So, I've learned that you really need that village.'Best of SheKnows Rocky77, Aquaman, & More Unique Celebrity Baby Names How to Watch These 25 Halloween Movies on Disney+ for Summerween Antics The Dumbest (and Deadliest) TikTok Trends Targeting Teens & Tweens Solve the daily Crossword

Jeezy Shares Candid Feelings About His Divorce From Jeannie Mai
It's officially been a year since Jay 'Jeezy' Jenkins and Jeannie Mai finalized their divorce after two and a half years of marriage and welcoming their daughter, Monaco. Following months of public legal strife with Mai, the rapper sat down with The Breakfast Club this week, where he shared his candid thoughts on life after marriage. 'I tell myself this every day, 'Man, this is amazing,'' he affirmed. 'I don't got no enemies… no issues, I don't want no enemies or issues, I just want peace, joy, and freedom. I love my freedom. Freedom is everything. Especially when you're talking about art, culture — you're talking your mind… This is the season of me. I'm putting myself first at all costs.' That 'freedom,' however, didn't come peacefully — it came with a few court dates and harrowing headlines. Just this past May, Jeezy was in hot water over accusations that he didn't hold up his end of their divorce agreement, which could have potentially led to jail time if he continued to fail to comply. According to In Touch Weekly, a judge determined that he 'willfully failed' to transfer the title of a 2021 Range Rover over to Jeannie. Additionally, Jeezy attempted to have Mai pay their $20,000 legal bill, to which the judge denied the motion. Jeannie previously accused the 'Put On' rapper of skipping out on childcare payments, delaying a $500,000 deposit for their daughter, and not covering four months of rent like he allegedly agreed to. Jeezy countered her claims, saying some of the lease paperwork she provided seemed sketchy to his team and blamed DMV delays. He even noted an 'act of God' for why one of the cars hadn't been properly transferred, while also claiming she was out to 'embarrass, humiliate, and disparage' him by letting their business spill into the public court of opinion. Mai opened up about the ongoing divorce while visiting The Jennifer Hudson show last year. She gave an update on her wellbeing since the news broke, which she said 'gutted' her. 'I think I'm doing better now,' Mai said at the time. 'At the time, when I found out at the same time as the rest of the world that my marriage was ending in divorce, I was gutted. Today, it's about picking up the pieces. It's about discovering me and being a mom to the best blessing in my life, my little girl.' Mai added, 'Even though this year I met the most broken version of me, I also met the strongest version of me today.' Take a look at Jeezy's post-marriage update above. Jeezy Given Jail Time Warning For Failing To Comply To Divorce Terms
Jeezy and Jeannie Mai's 2023 divorce is still ongoing as the former couple continues to butt heads with the terms of the split. The latest issue stems from Jeezy 'willfully disobeying' terms within their divorce, which garnered him a 'stern warning' by a Georgia judge. This could potentially lead to jail time if he continues with failing to comply, InTouch reports. During an April 28 hearing, the judge found Jeezy had 'willfully failed' to deliver the title of a 2021 Range Rover to his ex-wife. This was a requirement in their divorce settlement and Mai's attorneys confirmed to the court that Jeezy had cured the issues raised in her petition for contempt. According to the outlet, 'any future failure to comply with the court's order may result in sanctions, which he said could be in the form of incarceration.' The only issue that remained to be addressed was the 'Put On' rapper's previous demand for Mai to pay $20,000 to cover the legal fees that have allegedly accumulated throughout the divorce process. On March 17, Jeezy requested payment from the former The Real host after she accused him of contempt, resulting in him fighting her 'frivolous' accusations and racking up the bill. InTouch reports the judge 'shut down' his demand for attorney fees during the recent hearing. Jeannie Mai and Jeezy got married in March 2021 in an intimate ceremony. They share one daughter together named Monaco Mai Jenkins, 3. Jeezy filed for divorce in October 2023, and the TV host said she was blindsided as she found out he did so at the same time as 'the rest of the world.' Since the filing, the two have been going back-and-forth on the terms of their public split. Since then, the situation snowballed into a series of hurdles. Earlier this year, Mai got the police involved during an incident at Jeezy's residence last month after the rapper allegedly did not allow her to retrieve her things from his Georgia home. The rapper stated he blocked her from entering during the agreed time frame because he was concerned about her having access to his residence and 'no way of knowing if [Jeannie] is planting listening devices or cameras in his home.'
