Cyclists prepare for hospice's Tour de Jersey race
Cyclists are preparing ahead of Jersey Hospice Care's Tour de Jersey, which kicks off on are a number of courses, all starting from Albert Pier, so cyclists can choose from taking part in the Mini Tour right up to the 100km Full to organisers, last year's event raised more than £17,000 for the charity, which supports essential care for hospice patients as well as supporting their Douglas, events manager, said: "This year, we've introduced a new route to make the Tour de Jersey even more accessible and family-friendly than ever." He added: "As well as the Mini Tour for those just starting out, the new 11km Bay Tour is designed for confident young riders or families wanting a scenic spin. "There is then the Railway Tour for those ready to go a bit further, and more experienced riders can opt for the 50km Half Tour or the 100km Full Tour."

New chief executive takes over at Jersey hospice
A new chief executive has taken over at Jersey's only hospice following a Street said she was excited to be joining the team at Jersey Hospice Care after Mike Palfreman stepped down from the role after four Street had previously been chief executive at Heart of Kent Hospice since 2021 and said it was a "great privilege" to be given the job in Mont Cochon-based charity thanked Mr Palfreman in its annual report - which was published earlier this week - saying he led the team through the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic and to "more solid financial stability". Ms Street said: "Jersey Hospice Care has a very special place in the hearts of islanders. "I am looking forward to supporting the team in continuing their great work in making sure everyone living with a life-limiting condition, and their loved ones, are well supported and cared for."In its annual report, the charity said 850 islanders received care during added £1.1m was raised through its charity shop sales and 330 volunteers had contributed 26,337 hours throughout the year.

Moonlight walk to remember lost loved ones
People are set to take part in a Jersey walking event to remember loved ones they have lost. Jersey Hospice Care has organised the Moonlight Walk with two circular routes - a 5km (3.1 miles) Half Moon Walk or a 10km (6.2 miles) Full Moon Walk - starting at St Brelade's Parish Hall at 21:00 BST. Organisers said more than 300 people had signed up and they expected a few more to attend on the night. Marina Brockbank, community engagement officer for Jersey Hospice Care, said the event could be "truly heart-warming". The charity said marshals and water stops would be positioned along the routes and entrants would get a cup of tea and some cake when they finish. Entries cost £31.50 for a family of two adults and two children or £10.50 for people aged 16 or over and £5.25 for under 16s, who must be accompanied by an adult, the charity said.
