Netanyahu trial delayed as Trump calls for charges to be dropped
The court investigating Binyamin Netanyahu over corruption charges has postponed a cross-examination of the Israeli prime minister because of a potential hostage deal with Hamas.
Netanyahu was expected to give testimony on Monday after his long-standing trial was delayed yet again, this time because of the war with Iran.
He is said to have told the Jerusalem court, however, that owing to negotiations with Hamas over the war in Gaza he would not be able to testify in the coming weeks.
The court had initially rejected Netanyahu's request to further postpone his cross-examination, but issued a statement late on Sunday that said there had been 'real additions and changes' in circumstances and cancelled the hearings.
