NFL LB unit rankings: Where Arizona Cardinals opponents rank
PFF ranked all 32 NFL teams' LB units. See where the Cardinals' 2025 opponents rank. The offseason of lists and rankings continues as we wait for training camps to begin. These rankings are from PFF, lining up the linebacker units for all 32 NFL teams. We know that the Arizona Cardinals' group is not highly rated, but what about their 2025 opponents? Let's have a look at the opposing linebacker units they will face. NFL LB unit rankings: 2025 Arizona Cardinals opponents Analysis The Cardinals' unit is No. 29 overall, but that won't impact their performance against their opponents' linebackers. That's something for the offense to pay attention to. They will face only three top-10 units in four games (49ers, Saints, Jags). They face eight bottom-10 units in 10 games (they have two games each against the Rams and Seahawks). Considering the Cardinals' run game and how good tight end Trey McBride is, they should see a good amount of success against these opponents, should these rankings hold true to form. Cardinals players to wear No. 77 No. 77 is retired. The last player to wear it was tackle Stan Mauldin. He played for the Chicago Cardinals in the 40s. He played in 1946 and was a starter on the team's only championship in 1947. Then, in 1948, he played in the season opener and tragically died of a heart attack. Because of his contribution to the championship and the tragic nature of his death, the team retired the number. Arizona Cardinals offseason report card featuring Cards Wire
Arizona Cardinals offseason report card featuring Cards Wire Cards Wire's Jess Root talks about all the Cardinals' offseason moves and what they can do in 2025. The Arizona Cardinals have completed their offseason program for 2025, wrapping up mandatory minicamp. It concludes an offseason of major moves on defense in free agency and the draft. I was a guest on Proline TV's Arizona Cardinals offseason report card to discuss offseason moves, draft picks and insights for what the depth chart will look like during the season. Host Greg DePalma and I ran down the Cardinals' moves in free agency, where the new additions fit, who will have the biggest impact. The biggest impact will come on defense as the offense remains largely the same. We run down the Cardinals' draft picks and where they will figure in as rookies in 2025. I talk about how linebacker Cody Simon and cornerback Will Johnson are the two rookies likely to have the biggest roles. I wonder how the deep defensive line room will shake out and am bullish about both sides of the ball, giving my season expectations for the team. Watch the full episode below.
