Rock and roll at Oppi Kus
In just over a month's time the South Coast's premier music festival, Oppi Kus, will take place. The stage is set for the festival to play out at the centrally located Douglas Mitchell Sports Ground in Uvongo on Friday, July 11 and Saturday, July 12. This year's exciting two-day line-up will include Jesse Clegg, Prime Circle, Tanner Wareham, Snotkop, Appel, Jo Black, Eloff, Fatman, Jay, Die Jakkie Louw Band, Shaun Wulf, Jeane Roux and Shakira Biggs and a deejay. Funds raised will go towards Margate Round Table 46, which focuses on community service and fellowship among young men. The club engages in various activities, including fundraising events, community projects and initiatives like Winter Knights, where monies raised are donated to charitable causes. These projects aim to make a positive impact on the lives of others. Popular musician Jakkie Louw will again make a recording of the event for a well-known TV channel. Tabler Shane Woolley shared how Louw created much publicity for the event last year with hit music video 'Donkie', so it's exciting that he will be doing something similar again. 'Bring those posters, banners and epic signs as you may have the chance to see your face on TV. Let us show how the South Coast celebrates the festival – it is going to be next level,' he said. A fully stocked bar, run by the club, will be on site throughout the event and delicious bites will be available from a range of food vendors. Buy your tickets at OK Liquors (Uvongo or Southbroom), Dougies Sports Bar or online via Limited tickets will be available at the gate. However, Round Table reserves the right to close ticket sales each day based on the number of people in attendance.
