The Savant OTT release on Apple TV+: When to watch, what to expect from Jessica Chastain-starrer thriller about mass violence
Mark your calendars, because Jessica Chastain is back on our screens, this time not just starring but executive producing Apple TV+'s high-stakes thriller The Savant. Premiering Friday, 26 September with a double-episode drop, the 8-episode limited series will keep us hooked every Friday until 7 November. The Savant to premiere on THIS date Inspired by the spine-tingling 2019 Cosmopolitan exposé 'Is It Possible to Stop a Mass Shooting Before It Happens?', The Savant tells the story of a woman so good at spotting violent threats online, the FBI literally counts on her to stop them. Jessica Chastain plays the elusive 'K', a former Marine and cop who lives in digital shadows, using her uncanny instincts to take down extremists before they act. What is The Savant actually about? This is not your average crime series, it's based on real ops, real threats, and a real woman who helped prevent actual domestic terrorism. Yes, this goes way deeper than your typical undercover drama. Chastain's 'K' is a mum, a wife, and a total digital detective. She's got zero social media, hides her identity, and only a handful of people know what she really does. In the show, her husband is played by Nnamdi Asomugha, reuniting with Chastain after their tense pairing in The Good Nurse. The cast also brings in major energy with Cole Doman, Jordana Spiro, Trinity Lee Shirley, Toussaint Francois Battiste, and Pablo Schreiber in a guest role. Oh, and James Badge Dale is joining too, buckle up for some serious on-screen intensity. Who's making it happen? Melissa James Gibson serves as the series showrunner and writer, with direction from acclaimed filmmaker Matthew Heineman. Chastain and Kelly Carmichael executive produce under Freckle Films, alongside Alan Poul. Cosmopolitan writer Andrea Stanley, whose feature inspired the series, also serves as a consultant. So yes, the vibes will be authentic and terrifying.
