Taylor Swift surprises children at Florida hospital
The post Taylor Swift surprises children at Florida hospital appeared first on ClutchPoints. Taylor Swift made a couple of fans' days when she made a surprise visit to a Florida hospital. According to fan videos, Swift posed for photos with several children at the Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital in Hollywood, Fla. She also took the time to spread joy to the many healthcare workers. In another video, Swift is seen talking with a girl and giving her a warm embrace. Swift also posed with the Chief of Surgery, Jill Whitehouse. 'Chief of Surgery meets Chief of the World! Undeniably one of the kindest human beings I have ever had the privilege of meeting. Thank you #taylorswift for making dreams come true for all of our patients, families, and staff today!' Whitehouse captioned the photo. This hospital visit follows her previous surprise drop in to patients at the Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Mo. after she concluded her record-breaking Eras Tour back in December. After several years of her masters being owned by her former label Big Machine Records, then Scooter Braun's Ithaca Holdings, and lastly Shamrock Capital, Swift is now the owner of her first six albums. In a $360 million deal according to Billboard, Swift was able to secure the ownership of the projects that propelled her to stardom. She recollected about the exact moment in a handwritten letter on her personal website. 'I'm trying to gather my thoughts into something coherent, but right now my mind is just a slideshow. A flashback sequence of all the times I daydreamed about, wished for, and prayed away for a chance to get to tell you this news. All the times I was thisssss close, reaching out for it, only for it to fall through. I almost stopped thinking it could ever happen, after 20 years of having the carrot dangled and then yanked away. But that's all in the past now. I've been bursting into tears of joy at random intervals ever since I found out that this is really happening. I really get to say these words: All of the music I've ever made… now belongs to me.' The 14-time Grammy winner now owns the original records to her self-titled debut Taylor Swift, 1989, Reputation, Red, Speak Now, and Fearless. To combat the formerly not owning the first six albums, she recreated the projects that were dubbed 'Taylor's Versions.' To complete the series, she would need to record her self-titled and Reputation. In addition to being elated over the ownership of her original masters, she shared an update to fans on the remaining two projects release dates. Swift told fans that Taylor Swift (Taylor's Version) as well as Reputation (Taylor's Verison) will 'have their moment to re-emerge when the time is right, if that is something you guys would be excited about.' 'But if it happens, it won't be from a place of sadness and longing for what I wish I could have,' she added. 'It will just be a celebration now.' Taylor Swift Styles Her First Loewe Dress to Surprise Patients at a Children's Hospital
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Taylor Swift is right at home in Florida. Since May, when she and Travis Kelce moved to Boca Raton for the summer, the power couple has slowly integrated themselves into the neighborhood. So far, Swift's discovered her favorite restaurant, enjoyed a hockey game (for the Stanley Cup Finals, no less), and now, she's giving back to the community. On June 13, while Kelce attended his final off-season workout, Swift visited Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital in Hollywood, Florida, about a half-hour south of her rumored rental. Shortly after her arrival, photos and videos circulated on social media of Swift conversing with the most deserving Swifties. In one pic, the Grammy winner met Dr. Jill Whitehouse, the hospital's chief of surgery, who called Swift "one of the kindest human beings I have ever had the privilege of meeting" on Instagram. For the intimate occasion, the "Cruel Summer" singer styled a sleeveless Loewe dress in a cool-toned sage green shade. The calf-length midi fell in an A-line silhouette, but the self-tied waist added shape. This cotton-blend dress marked Swift's first Loewe look, but perhaps she was inspired by her close friends Sabrina Carpenter and Gigi Hadid, both of whom source the Spanish label often. View Deal Now-viral clips from her trip showed sneak peeks of the superstar's accessories, including ankle-strap sandals with block heels from Louis Vuitton. The brown monogrammed shoes featured the brand's signature "LV" emblem on each insteps. As a longtime brand enthusiast, she rarely goes anywhere without at least one Louis Vuitton piece. In true Swift form, she accepted a slew of friendship bracelets from patients which perfectly complemented her custom diamond Wovemade bangle. For this outing, she didn't carry a purse. But if she did, it likely would've been her favorite Chanel 25 bag, also beloved by Dua Lipa, Miley Cyrus, Olivia Rodrigo, and Gracie Abrams. Eagle eye fans spotted the cargo-inspired tote at the Stanley Cup Final last night. View Deal View Deal Longtime Swifties know, every six months or so, Swift fits a hospital visit into her calendar. Whether she's singing, dancing, or signing autographs, her presence brings joy and happiness to not only the patients, but their families, nurses, and doctors. Another recent surprise was in Dec. 2024, when she visited Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City. Swift also wore green for that visit: a holiday-appropriate, tartan two-piece from Miu Miu. She accessorized for the wintery weather in knee-high Christian Louboutin footwear—the same designer behind her custom Eras Tour boots. She likely traded a few wrists-full of friendship bracelets then, too. According to the Chiefs' NFL practice schedule, Kelce's next event isn't until June 17. So, who knows? Maybe the pair will return to Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital together before the weekend's up. View Deal View Deal View Deal View Deal View Deal View Deal View Deal View Deal

NHL gives Aleksander Barkov the Selke and King Clancy awards - with the help of kids
Florida's Aleksander Barkov thought the team meeting was over. He found it odd that the Panthers hadn't been told they could leave. Article content Turns out, there was a good reason — two of them, actually. Article content The Panthers hadn't had an opportunity to spend any time at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital — a facility Barkov works with and raises money for — during their playoff run, so the team decided to bring some of the patients into the team facility for a visit instead. And the kids came bearing gifts for Barkov. Article content 'I thought maybe some picture, some art that they had drawn for me,' Barkov said. Article content He hopped over the back row of seats in the Panthers' theater-style meeting room and went down to meet the kids. And imagine his surprise when the 'gifts' were brought in — first the King Clancy Trophy that gets awarded to the player that combines leadership on and off the ice with humanitarian work, then the Selke Trophy that gets presented to the NHL's best defensive forward. Article content The awards were technically awarded to Barkov last week; they were announced by the NHL on Monday. It's the third Selke for Barkov, and the first King Clancy. Article content 'It was amazing,' Barkov told The Associated Press. 'I got a little emotional there. I didn't really have words to say. That was very nicely done, and I was really thankful for everyone who was part of it.' Article content The NHL is announcing the winners of top individual awards a little differently this year, adding surprise elements with only a handful of people knowing what is happening ahead of time. The NHL and TNT had cameras and microphones inside the team meeting room for the Barkov announcement, which might have been a sign that something unusual was happening that day. Article content And the Barkov surprises were sold perfectly, too. Panthers coach Paul Maurice was standing in his customary spot in the front of the room, purportedly waiting for another speaker and wondering if they were locked out. He opened the door on the room's right side so hockey operations president and general manager Bill Zito could walk in, and Zito went right into character. Article content Zito introduced one of the young patients, under the guise of presenting Barkov with 'a little thank-you gift.' The boy spoke for a few seconds, finishing with 'bring in the gift,' and that's when someone from the NHL carried the Clancy into the room. Article content 'Thank you, guys,' Barkov said, holding the Clancy while addressing the handful of kids and their family members who were invited to be part of the surprise. 'Obviously, I was not expecting this. Not really too many words to say right now, but it means a lot and obviously, you guys — well, I'm a little emotional here — but I love how you guys showed up here.'
