Coronation Street villain makes horror return from the dead as victim is haunted in harrowing scenes
CORONATION Street fans are in for a shock as a twisted villain makes a chilling return from beyond the grave - leaving their former victim haunted in terrifying scenes. Lauren Bolton was left horrified in tonight's (Monday) episode after she thought evil Joel Deering had come back from the dead in spine-tingling scenes. 4 4 The troubled teen - played by Cait Fitton - agreed to join pal Betsy Swain at Aadi Alahan's wild midsummer bash, but things took a dark turn when she unknowingly drank lemonade laced with LSD. Stumbling into the ginnel in a drug -fuelled haze, Lauren was approached by a mystery man checking if she was okay - but in her hallucinatory state, she was convinced it was twisted abuser Joel and totally freaked out. As the hallucinations intensified, Lauren found herself inside the factory, convinced that monster Joel had kidnapped baby Frankie. By the time a panicked Aadi tracked her down, she was in a state of complete hysteria - sobbing, shaking and terrified. But will Lauren be able to bounce back from the traumatic trip? Or has this harrowing ordeal reopened old wounds that may never heal? Corrie viewers know that Joel put Lauren through a living nightmare - grooming, manipulating and eventually attacking her before leaving her for dead. Her disappearance sparked a murder investigation, only for her to reappear alive… and pregnant with his baby. But the horror didn't end there. In a sickening twist, Joel tried to drug Lauren to bring on early labour and force her to lose the baby. Thankfully, the evil plan backfired, and Lauren went on to safely give birth to little Frankie. Joel's reign of terror only ended when Lauren struck him with a rock - in a desperate bid to save Max Turner from being strangled. She later stood trial for his death but was found not guilty. Now, Lauren has been trying to rebuild her life as a young mum - but her terrifying trip may prove that her past still isn't done haunting her. Soap's most harrowing teen storylines We take a look at other harrowing teen soap storylines from soaps Coronation Street, EastEnders, Emmerdale and Hollyoaks. Belle Dingle's schizophrenia in Emmerdale - Belle's (Eden Taylor-Draper) traumatic journey in Emmerdale took a dark turn when, after accidentally killing her best friend Gemma at just 16, her mental health began to spiral. The storyline, which saw Belle struggling with her grief and guilt, showcased her battle with hearing Gemma's voice inside her head, leading to a dramatic decline in her well-being. Hannah Ashworth's anorexia in Hollyoaks - Viewers were horrified as they watched Hannah (Emma Rigby), a seemingly innocent teen, spiral into dangerous behavior, starving herself in an attempt to achieve what she thought was the ideal body. As Hannah's condition worsened, the storyline became more intense, culminating in her being hospitalised for two months as she fought for her life. Bethany Platt's grooming ordeal in Coronation Street - Vulnerable schoolgirl, played by Lucy Fallon, was at the centre of one of Corrie's darkest storylines to date when she fell under the spell of her older boyfriend and sexual predator. The controversial scenes saw Nathan groom and manipulate the 16-year-old before coercing her into sleeping with his friends, with one of them raping her. Whitney Dean's abuse from Tony in EastEnders - Since the age of 12, she had been in a twisted relationship with her stepmum Bianca's boyfriend, Tony King. The predator had groomed young Whit (Shona McGarty), making her believe she was in love and planning to run away with him. On her 16th birthday, the traumatised teen finally revealed the years of abuse to Bianca. Tony was swiftly sent to prison sentenced for 13 years. Meanwhile, still high on LSD, Nina and Summer let themselves into the darkened café. When they hear the sound of sirens, they cling to each other, terrified. As the group come to terms with the disturbing events of the evening, the aftermath is felt across the neighbourhood, will the truth of what happened come out? Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV1 or stream from 7am on ITVX. 4 4

CORONATION Street stars Cait Fitton and Sydney Martin have revealed the show is planning a special episode to utilise it's younger cast in the coming months. The actresses have made a huge impact on the ITV show with their characters Lauren Bolton and Betsey Swain being at the heart of two of the programme's biggest stories of the past 12 months. 6 6 6 Fans have seen Lauren caught up in her epic disappearance plot and her connection with the wicked Joel Deering whilst Betsey was left heartbroken when her lover Mason Radcliffe was stabbed to death. But now, the stars have teased that there will be plenty more action to come from the pair and the rest of the younger cast as part of a specially-curated new plot. The duo spoke to The Sun at the British Soap Awards where they revealed the "different" twist that would be rocking the soap. Cait told us: "There is gonna be something quite different in the near-near future where we see all the younger cast come together. 2We really enjoyed that because nine times out of ten you don't really get to see people unless you are working with them. "Working with people our own age has been so much fun. "It was two weeks of us non-stop altogether." She then joked: "I felt sorry for the crew and directors by the end of it but it was so much fun." They also hinted that they were hopeful a true friendship could blossom between Betsey and Lauren despite their rocky history. Cait added: "I do see it. Coronation Street star breaks silence on co-star's impending exit as she opens up on 'emotional' final scenes "I don't think it will be soon but I think it will be a slow burner." Sydney then added: "There's some great stuff coming up and they lean on each other a lot but it will be a slow burner." The news of the impending episodes comes after Corrie failed to collect any of the panel or viewer nominated gongs at this year's ceremony. Instead, only David Neilson received a prize for the Outstanding Achievement for his decades-long performance as Roy Cropper. EastEnders cleaned up at the event with a total of eight prizes to become the clear front-runners of the night. 6 6 6
