Family's heartbreaking tribute to young man who died after being hit by car
Joel Sheldon's devastated loved ones released a statement. A young man has died from his injuries after being struck by a car. Joel Sheldon's heartbroken family have paid tribute to the 23-year-old following the tragedy, Manchester Evening News reports. The incident took place at around 10.20pm on Friday, June 20, near The Greyhound pub on Lower Bents Lane in Bredbury, Stockport, Greater Manchester. In a heartfelt tribute issued this afternoon, his loved ones said: "Our beautiful son Joel was caring, kind, and loved by everyone that knew him. "He smiled constantly and loved life. Emergency services were called to the scene after Greater Manchester Police received reports of a collision involving a Vauxhall Corsa and a pedestrian. It's believed the car was heading in the direction of Redhouse Lane when the incident took place. The pedestrian, who has now been named as Joel, was rushed to hospital in a life-threatening condition. He tragically died the next day, despite the best efforts of emergency services and medics. Enquiries into the collision are ongoing and witnesses. Anyone with dashcam, CCTV or Ring doorbell footage are being urged to come forward.
