Nicole Kidman, Sandra Bullock Begin Shooting Practical Magic 2

New members added to the cast include Joey King, Lee Pace, Maisie Williams, Xolo Mariduena, and Solly McLeod. The witches from 'Practical Magic' are officially back. Nicole Kidman and Sandra Bullock have begun shooting for 'Practical Magic 2,' the sequel to their 1998 cult classic. Kidman took to her Instagram account on Friday to share an adorable BTS video from their first day on set. The video shows both stars together, bringing back their sisterly magic on screen. Along with the video, the actress added a caption that read: 'The witches are back, Owens sisters' first day on set! #PracticalMagic." Have a look here: The first film followed the story of Sally (played by Kidman) and Gillian Owens (played by Bullock), two sisters born into a family of witches who must deal with a family curse that causes the men they love to die. The original film was directed by Griffin Dunne, while the upcoming sequel is being directed by Susanne Bier. As per The Hollywood Reporter, Kidman had earlier opened up about working with Bier on the sequel, stating that it felt like 'the perfect triangle" for the trio to work together on the film. 'Sandy's worked with her, too, so the two of us were like, well, this is the perfect triangle because we all know each other so well, and to be able to work together on something that is fun and witchy," she said. Fans will be happy to know that Dianne Wiest and Stockard Channing are returning as the Owens aunts. New members added to the cast include Joey King, Lee Pace, Maisie Williams, Xolo Mariduena, and Solly McLeod. The script for Practical Magic 2 has been co-written by Akiva Goldsman (who also co-wrote the 1998 film) and Georgia Pritchett. Both Bullock and Kidman are producers on the sequel, along with Denise Di Novi, who also produced the original. 'Practical Magic 2' is set to be released in theatres on September 18, 2026. It's Official: Joey King Goes Red for Practical Magic 2

After rumors swirling for months, we finally have some juicy Practical Magic 2 news: actor Joey King is on her way to Coupeville, Washington. The actor, known for The Kissing Booth among others, will be starring alongside Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman in the sequel to the cult comedy. In the original 1998 film, based on Alice Hoffman's novel of the same name, magical sisters Sally (Bullock) and Gillian Owens (Kidman) fight a generational curse that kills all the men they fall in love with. Whether and which spell awaits them this time—and what role exactly King plays—remains a secret. Though if her red hair is a hint, we bet she's taking up the role of Kylie, originally played by Evan Rachel Wood. Or perhaps the daughter of Gillian? Filming is already in full swing—and King loves a radical beauty transformation for a role, so it makes total sense she'd go red. (After all, she's shaved her head for a role in the past.) She posted a first preview on Instagram with the caption 'There's a little witch in all of us.' Only time will tell which witch she is.

Gwyneth Paltrow Gives Her Ski Trial Style a Ritzier Second Act

Over two years ago, Gwyneth Paltrow inadvertently became an avatar of the quiet luxury trend while taking the stand in her ski accident trial in Deer Valley, Utah. While her sumptuous knits and smart suiting did help catalyze the stealth wealth craze, Paltrow's own style usually has a bit more of an edge, expressed through bold colors or a little sparkle. Yesterday, she embraced the latter at the Max Mara resort 2026 show. Paltrow joined the likes of Joey King and Alexa Chung in the front row at the Naples, Italy show. For the occasion, she embraced her ski trial conventions—neutrals and knits—with some sparkle thrown in for good measure. On top, Paltrow wore a beige knit short-sleeved V-neck with ribbing to the bust and a haphazard sprinkling of brown rhinestones and paillettes. She paired it with a matching beige A-line midi skirt. As for her shoes, she kept it in the color family with a pair of warm brown pointy-toe heels. With her sophisticated silhouette, luxe materials, and neutral palette—plus the added pizzazz of her rhinestone and sequin embellishments—Gwyneth Paltrow is giving her ski trial style a ritzier second act.

That movie was based on the novel by Alice Hoffman and juggled themes and ideas of sisterhood, female empowerment, domestic abuse, with some comedy and supernatural fun thrown in. King will play one of Bullock's daughters, the one who discovers the dark family secrets and her own dark powers, plunging the family into a crisis. Akiva Goldman, who co-wrote the first movie, co-wrote the script for this installment with Georgia Pritchett. Bullock and Kidman are also producing along with the original's Denise Di Novi. A late summer shoot in London, where Warners shoots many of its movies, is being planned. Warners had no comment on the dealmaking. King became a household name to the Gen Z crowd thanks to playing a teen torn between two boys in the romantic Kissing Booth trio of movies that were among the most viewed on Netflix for a time. She earned an Emmy for her work in the Hulu crime drama The Act and has taken leading roles with 20th Century Studios' The Princess and opposite Brad Pitt in Bullet Train. She last starred in the Netflix sci-fi flick Uglies, directed by McG. King is repped by WME and Brillstein Entertainment Partners.
