After a slow start to life at the club, he established himself as a key man in the side. But Turkish Super Lig clubs are limited to the number of foreign players they're allowed in their squad and Trabzonspor have been looking to move on some of their current overseas stars this transfer window. Lundstram's name was earmarked at the beginning of the summer as one of those who could be moved on to free up a space, as well as former Rangers teammate Borna Barisic who has endured a horror time of things at the club. Then came the dramatic development over the last couple of days that Lundstram had LEFT Trabzonspor's pre-season training camp. Turkish reports suggested he had done so in order to TERMINATE his contract. Lundstram now looks set for a move to Hull City. A move to the Tiger could only happen if Lundstram was a free agent as the English Championship club are currently under a transfer embargo. While Hull are still allowed to register players, they are NOT allowed to pay a transfer fee for any new recruits. The club also look set to add another Trabzonspor player, Enis Destan, to their squad in the coming days. Major Mikey Moore Rangers loan doubts & 'strange situation' at Celtic + transfer news Go Ballistic While Lundstram does indeed look set to be joining Hull, it appears that there could also have been an opportunity to remain in Turkish football. Local journalist Serhat Kantoglu claims that Lundstram held talks with second tier outfit Esenler Erokspor. The club, who have ambitions to make it to the Super Lig, already have one former Rangers star in their ranks. They snapped-up Ryan Jack last year and he's gone on to become a key man in their midfield. Lundstram had caused a stir earlier this month by following the club on Instagram, leading to plenty of fans speculating that he could be about to join the club. While that new report claims talks were held, Hull certainly still appears to be Lundstram's destination. Rangers, meanwhile, are closing in on the signing of Mikey Moore from Tottenham. The winger, 17, looks set to join the Light Blues on loan for the season amid interest from several other English clubs. 3 Ryan Jack is on the books of Esenler Erokspor Credit: PA Have YOU got a point for Kris Boyd? Ex-Rangers star John Lundstram ‘leaves Trabzonspor training camp to TERMINATE contract'

IT'S only a year since John Lundstram swapped Rangers for Trabzonspor. But it looks very much like he's moving on, again according to shock reports out of Turkey. 2 John Lundstram's time at Trabzonspor could be coming to an end Credit: Getty 2 Lundstram played for Rangers between 2021 and 2024 Credit: Willie Vass Lundstram, 31, spent three years with Rangers between 2021 and 2024. He established himself as a fans' favourite during his debut season as he helped inspire the Gers to the Europa League Final - scoring the goal that got them there by beating RB Leipzig. The midfielder moved on last summer at the end of his contract. Both Lundstram and teammate Borna Barisic were snapped-up by Turkish giants Trabzonspor. But it looks like his Turkish adventure could be over after just one season. That's because shock reports out of the country claim Lundstram is about to TERMINATE his contract. The former Sheffield United ace signed a three-year when he joined Trabzon last year. There had been previous murmurs that Lundstram's time with the club could be coming to an end. Turkish Super Lig clubs are only permitted to have a certain number of overseas players in their squads and Lundstram had been previously namechecked as one foreign player who could be moved on to make way for new recruits this summer. Now, several reports out of Turkey are claiming that Lundstram has left Trabzonspor's pre-season training camp - in order to TERMINATE his deal. Rangers transfer special assesses whether Conor Coady deal is OFF, if Hamza Igamane will leave and when the Gers can expect more incomings It's been reported by several outlets, including Karadeniz de Sonnokta and Fanatik, that Lundstram left the camp early before its conclusion on Sunday. It's been claimed further that he's doing so to bring his time at the club to an end in order to join Hull City. To join Hull, Lundstram would HAVE to be a free agent. That's because the English Championship club are currently under a signing embargo that does not allow them to pay a fee to sign any players. A contract termination would free up Lundstram to be able to join Hull. The Fanaktik report states that he left the camp in order to hold talks with the English club. Lundstram came through the youth ranks at Everton but failed to make a senior appearance for the Toffees. He had loan spells at six different clubs before joining Oxford United permanently in 2015. The midfielder moved on to Sheffield United two days later and proved a key player during the Blades' stint in the Premier League between 2019 and 2021. He then joined Rangers on a free transfer following United's relegation and headed for Turkey last summer. Keep up to date with ALL the latest news and transfers at the Scottish Sun football page

The images are the result of the 'My Glasgow' project by Simon Community Scotland, which provides support to people who are homeless. Participants were given disposable cameras and asked to capture the city as they see it within one week. (Image: Supplied) They had the rare sunny week in Glasgow to take their photos. Lorraine McGrath, chief executive officer of Simon Community Scotland, said: "People we support continue to amaze us every day. "They have done it again, the images the public have to choose from showcase talent and love for Glasgow and all its quirks." Ex-Rangers star John Lundstram eyed for shock transfer to league rivals – despite club being BANNED from signing players

Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) FORMER Rangers star John Lundstram has emerged as a target for one of his current club's league rivals. But their interest comes amid a BAN from signing players. Sign up for the Rangers newsletter Sign up 2 John Lundstram joined Trabzonspor last summer Credit: Getty 2 He spent three years at Rangers between 2021 and 2024 Credit: PA Lundstram, 31, ended a three-year stay with Rangers last year. The midfielder left Ibrox at the end of his contract and was quickly snapped up by Turkish Super Lig outfit Trabzonspor. After a tricky start to life at the club, Lundstram went on to establish himself as a key player. Despite that, his future has become somewhat uncertain this summer. Turkish clubs are restricted to having a certain number of foreign players in their squad and as a result, with the maximum number permitted 12. Before the summer transfer window even opened, there were 14 overseas players in Trabzonspor's squad. That meant the futures of several overseas players became uncertain, with reports out of Turkey naming Lundstram as one of the players who could be moved on to make space for new foreign signings. Lundstram's former Gers teammate Borna Barisic looks almost certain to be moved on and he hasn't even been given a squad number ahead of the new season. Even if Lundstram is to leave the club, he could still have a home in Turkey. That's because 61 Saat are reporting that the midfielder has emerged as a target for Antalyaspor. Ex-Rangers stars John Lundstram and Borna Barisic arrive in Turkey to sign for Trabzonspor However, it's a rather complicated one. That's because Antalyaspor are currently BANNED from signing new players. They were stopped from registering new players last summer due to owing money to a couple of former players. That left former England international Andros Townsend in limbo at the time, with the winger having joined the club just before the Fifa ban came into force. After a month of uncertainty, the ban was lifted and Townsend was able to start playing in September. But almost a year on, Antalyaspor find themselves under a transfer embargo yet AGAIN. According to Turkish reports, there are '11 cases' the club need to solve before the embargo is lifted by world football's governing body. Should the ban be removed, Lundstram is a player reportedly of interest to Antalyaspor boss Emre Belozoglu. Former Newcastle, Inter Milan and Atletico Madrid star Emre is preparing for his first season as the club's manager.
