Teddi Mellencamp splits from new boyfriend after being trolled for dating amid stage 4 cancer battle

Teddi Mellencamp has broken up with her boyfriend Ricci Rea because she realized she does not currently have the energy to sustain a relationship amid her ongoing battle with stage four cancer. exclusively caught sight of the 43-year-old in a clinch with a new beau last month, and she then publicly confirmed she had a man in her life. Meanwhile her estranged husband Edwin Arroyave, with whom she shares three children, has proven to be a source of support to her as she fights her illness, but they have publicly clarified that they are still proceeding with their divorce. Now, Teddi has revealed that her latest romance had already fizzled by the time the public became aware of her new man's identity. She clarified that Ricci 'couldn't be a nicer guy,' but noted that her own health had gotten in the way of their budding relationship, on her Diamonds in the Rough podcast with her ex-Real Housewives of Beverly Hills co-star Erika Jayne. The daughter of John Mellencamp explained that she 'had to call things off' once 'it started getting to the point where it's starting to get a little bit more serious. I was like: "I don't have the capacity for this right now."' Insisting that Ricci was 'a really nice guy, couldn't be a nicer guy,' she pointed out: 'I don't feel my best, so when I have downtime I want to rest.' gushed over her new boyfriend after pushing back at trolls who have criticized her for dating while undergoing cancer treatment. During an appearance on iHeart Radio's Diamond in the Rough podcast on Friday, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum spoke about the boundaries she has set while still undergoing treatment for her Stage 4 cancer. 'I've had to make it clear to people I've dated [that] this is where I am. This is what I've got,' she explained about her limitations of time and energy. 'If it's enough for you, great. If it's not enough, I won't be upset. I mean, yes, my feelings will probably be hurting, but this is all I got to give. And if that's enough, great.' The influencer, 43, shares three children, Slate, 12, Cruz, 10 and Dove, five, with her estranged husband Edwin Arroyave, 48. As for her current guy, with whom she has been seen, but has not publicly identified, she revealed, 'I haven't had to say any of those things, but he is really sweet and kind.' Referencing a recent date, she said, 'He came and picked us up this week from the [horse] show, and he could tell that I was down. He sat and watched, like, one million hours of horse show rounds. He's just a good guy, she said. 'I know I deserve it, and it's really nice,' Mellencamp added. However, if the new guy decides it's all too much for him, the social media star said she would understand. 'If for some reason you realize you need somebody that doesn't have three kids, 1 million activities to do, 87 podcasts, you want more time than I'm able to give? I understand,' she told her cohost Erika Jayne. Mellencamp said if that were the case she told him, 'I would not be mad at you for not even a second.' However, it seems her new friend is in for the long haul. 'He's like, 'I am willing to do anything to be able to spend time with you."' When it comes to her cancer battle, the influencer had some hopeful news and some disappointing news to share on her own Two Ts in a Pod podcast with her friend and co-host Tamara Judge. Following her most recent MRI, doctors found 'the tumors have not grown at all, if anything they're shrinking, I'm in the one-percent range of improvement.' 'If for some reason you realize you need somebody that doesn't have three kids, 1 million activities to do, 87 podcasts, you want more time than I'm able to give? I understand,' she told her cohost Erika Jayne The Certified Wellness coach has been undergoing immunotherapy to treat her cancer which she has revealed often leave her felling tired and run down, following a series of radiation treatments. Doctors removed four tumors from her brain in February, but others remained in her brain and lungs. In spite of the improvements, Mellencamp said the doctors told her that she still has stage 4 cancer. All though she took the news with grace, the personal trainer said she was hoping they would tell her something else. 'I think I believe I'm going to go in and they're gonna say "wow, it's a miracle and you no longer have any cancer."'

Cancer-stricken Teddi Mellencamp marks major milestone amid stage 4 battle

Teddi Mellencamp celebrated her 44th birthday with family and friends on Sunday and Monday amid her ongoing stage 4 cancer battle. On Sunday, the Two Ts in a Podcaster kicked off her festivities with a fully-clothed morning leap into the backyard pool of her $6.5M Encino marital home with her 10-year-old son Cruz. Teddi's estranged husband Edwin Arroyave filmed all the action as their three children presented her with handwritten birthday messages and presents in bed. Little Cruz procured Mellencamp a pair of Beats headphones and her 12-year-old daughter Slate gave her a black quilted purse, which curiously had cash inside. The nepo-baby of John Mellencamp - whose suitcase was packed for a family trip - then headed to 'linner' with her BFF/co-host Tamra Judge as well as six other gal pals. 'I accidentally keep telling people I am turning 34 instead of turning 44. Maybe it's the steroids. Maybe it's wishful thinking. You decide,' Teddi - who boasts 1.2M Instagram followers - joked. 'It's always a special birthday when I get to spend it with my girls… but this one was extra special because I got my first Labubu!' Mellencamp - who's actively dating men via the Hinge dating app - is an avid equestrian who owns three horses, so it made sense that her birthday cake was horse-themed. On Monday morning - her actual birthday - the RHOBH guest star shared a selfie with Cruz, Slate, and her five-year-old daughter Dove in bed captioned: '43 was pretty rough but couldn't ask for a better start to 44 with worlds best cuddlers.' Next Monday would have marked Teddi and Edwin's 14th wedding anniversary had she not started divorce proceedings last November amid her rumored months-long affair with her horse trainer Simon Schröeder (while his wife Karli Postel was pregnant with their second child). Postel reportedly 'found text messages on Simon's phone that exposed the affair' and they confessed when she confronted them about it. Despite everything, the 48-year-old Skyline Security CEO gushed on Instagram: 'Happy birthday @teddimellencamp! Your resilience, tenacity, and strength have taught our children what a true warrior is. May God bless you with your best year ever.' Tamra shared a special birthday tribute to Mellencamp, writing: 'Happy birthday to my Teddi Walters — my best friend, my ride or die, the little sister I never had but always needed. I truly can't imagine doing life without you. Love you forever.' On June 11, Teddi gave an update on her stage 4 cancer battle, which originated as melanoma before spreading to her brain (with four tumors) and lungs. 'I had gotten pretty nervous because I started getting headaches again,' Mellencamp said of her MRI results on Two T's in a Pod. 'So I was like, "Oh no, that was the sign of this happening in the first place. I hope it means that the tumors aren't getting bigger again." But the doctors came in and said that the tumors have not grown at all. If anything, they're shrinking. I'm in the 1% range of improvement… But I am still stage 4 cancer.'

John Mellencamp Called Out Pat McAfee For Heckling Ben Stiller At NBA Playoff Game, And He Responded

Credit: ESPN/Farmer's Aid Pat McAfee already had to hear from Ben Stiller when his rousing speech during the NBA Eastern Conference Finals felt insulting to New York celebrities in attendance, and now he has to hear from a big name from Indiana: John Mellencamp. Despite McAfee hyping up the Indiana Pacers fans as they defeated the New York Knicks in Game 4 of the NBA playoffs, the Hoosier-born singer wasn't a fan of the ESPN commentator's behavior. Advertisement The Indiana Pacers didn't have many celebrity supporters in the building during Game 4, so it's a shame that two of their biggest ones may be at odds. In a statement made two days after McAfee's big speech, Mellencamp released the following on X: The Knicks/Pacers games have been very entertaining for anyone who likes basketball or sports. I attended Game 4 in Indianapolis. 'Hoosier Hospitality' …I was embarrassed when somebody, under whose direction I don't know, called out some of the people who had made the trip from New York to support their team — and in turn, support our team. The audience booed these people. I'd say that was not Hoosier Hospitality. One could only say it's poor, poor sportsmanship. I was not proud to be a Hoosier, and I've lived here my entire life. On behalf of most Hoosiers, I would like to apologize for our poor behavior. I'm sure the Pacers had nothing to do with this smackdown. I'm not sure if I'm reading into it too deeply, but I have to think John Mellencamp using the term "smackdown" had to be a rib at Pat McAfee being a WWE commentator. No doubt, McAfee's wrestling experience led him to give what was reportedly an impromptu speech that was not rehearsed ahead of delivery. It's worth noting that as someone living in Indiana, I've seen many residents collectively confused by the singer's issue with what seemed like a mostly light-hearted diss to Timothée Chalamet and others. Pat McAfee rarely is quiet when it comes to criticism, so it was a given he wasn't going to ignore John Mellencamp's veiled criticism even though it didn't mention him by name. While the ESPN commentator has been known to drop a cryptic message on social media, he wasn't afraid to let people on X know who the singer was talking about in this scathing message: I am 'somebody' Back when there was some talk going back and forth between Pat McAfee and Ben Stiller, I almost suspected it was a subtle build to some future upcoming WWE event we'd see later this year with a Peacock subscription. Now with John Mellencamp in the mix, I'm assuming there were actual hurt feelings about McAfee calling out celebrities at the event. Advertisement More On The NBA Charles Barkley speaks on Inside the NBA Months After Charles Barkley Questioned Inside The NBA's Future On ESPN, The Network's President Weighed In It's just another chapter in the storied rivalry between the Indiana Pacers and the New York Knicks. Both teams have met many times over the years in the playoffs, with plenty of storylines between players and celebrities alike. It's rare two people supporting the same team speak out against each other, though, which is what makes it so bizarre. As the NBA playoffs continue on, be sure to check out the 2025 TV schedule to see what else is coming to television this summer. I know there are some summer shows I can't wait to get into once basketball is over, especially on the streaming side. Starting Five is coming from Netflix and with Tyrese Haliburton from the Pacers on the list of people covered, it should be a great season if they make the NBA finals.

ABC Cut Away From The NBA Finals With A Minute Left In The Pacers Game, And It's Actually Even More Infuriating Than You'd Guess

When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. To me, the best sports movies of all time can't even measure up to the Indiana Pacers' current playoff run, as the team continues to pull off impossible wins that feel reminiscent of the true story behind Hoosiers. Despite that, people still continue to doubt the team, including those in Indiana, as a news station switched away from the game with just a minute to go. Advertisement In what might be one of the most infuriating things to see if you saw the miraculous comeback by the Pacers, who took their first lead of the game against the Oklahoma City Thunder with .3 seconds remaining in the game, a Fort Wayne news station cut away from it in its final minute. Watch the clip, which even mentions a local watch party for the game, below: How this happens, in Indiana no less, after the historical playoff run the Pacers have had is unbelievable. Even setting aside this is the first time the franchise has been to the NBA Finals in 25 years, last night marked the third time that Tyrese Haliburton had won a game in the 2025 playoffs in the final five seconds. It's not just unbelievable, it's something no other player has done in decades: This doesn't even include the game-tying shot he hit at the buzzer against the New York Knicks, which ultimately led to a big feud between Pat McAfee and Ben Stiller, and somehow John Mellencamp even got in the mix. All this to say that this Indiana news station should've known better than to cut away from the game in the final minute. That's because this team is doing things that feel improbable in even the best underdog sports movies. Advertisement More On The NBA undefined In fairness to WPTA Fort Wayne, I noticed they have control of multiple stations, including a CW affiliate in addition to an ABC feed. It's also worth noting that the game abruptly cut back to the Finals in the midst of the news intro. So this could've been an instance where the 11 p.m. news was running on the other channels, and someone mistakenly had it take over the ABC feed. As impressive as it is, the Indiana Pacers are still underdogs to the overwhelming favorite, the Oklahoma City Thunder. This playoff series is about to be cinematic, especially if you have a Netflix subscription. Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton and Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander have had the Starting Five Season 2 crew following them all season long. At this point, I think it's almost worth a spinoff series just following these two players, though I'm certainly biased, being from Indiana. The NBA Finals kick off Game 2 on ABC on Sunday, June 8th at 8:00 p.m. ET.

Grammy Hall Of Fame Gala Expands Into Major Fundraiser

BEVERLY HILLS, CALIFORNIA - MAY 16: John Mellencamp performs onstage during the GRAMMY Hall Of Fame ... More Gala at The Beverly Hilton on May 16, 2025 in Beverly Hills, California. (Photo byfor The Recording Academy) As NARAS (National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences) CEO Harvey Mason told me a few years ago, one of the biggest issues the organization behind the Grammy Awards needs to fix is making people aware they are active year-round. The Grammy Awards are just part of what NARAS does. Holding a gala in May with an awards worthy lineup of performers, including John Mellencamp, Jon Batiste, Conan Gray, Susanna Hoffs, Emmylou Harris with Daniel Lanois and many others, is one sure way to attract attention. The Grammy Hall of Fame Gala, celebrated a diverse selection of works – JAY-Z's Reasonable Doubt, Cat Stevens' Tea For The Tillerman, Santana's Supernatural, and classics from Big Star, Clara Ward, Eddie Floyd, Emmylou Harris, Fela Kuti & Afrika 70, Geeshie Wiley, Gloria Estefan & Miami Sound Machine, J.D. Crowe & The New South, Linda Martell, and Luther Vandross – inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame, as well as honored Batiste with the first annual Ray Charles Architect of Sound award and honored Republic Records, which is what brought out Mellencamp and Gray. The Grammy Hall of Fame was created in 1973 and now currently includes over 1100 records, from Steely Dan, Kraftwerk and the Grateful Dead to Cole Porter, Louis Armstrong and the Budapest String Quartet, but the gala is a new endeavor, begun recently. This year saw it expand in size and scope to the Beverly Hilton as a fundraiser for the Grammy Museum. Given the success of this year's event, the talent involved, and attention this one garnered, plans are already underway to continue the gala in 2026. Like the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, where artists are eligible 25 years after their debut effort, the Grammy Hall of Fame also has a 25-year waiting period for eligibility. One thing the Grammys have always done right is atone for past errors in judgement by presenting lifetime achievement awards and hall of fame honors to deserving records and artists overlooked the first time. So, yeah, as much as I love Steely Dan, if you felt Eminem deserved that Album of the Year, there is a damn good chance his work will be in the Grammy Hall of Fame sooner or later.
