AFC Wimbledon fixtures for League One 2025-26 season confirmed
Going up: AFC Wimbledon beat Walsall in the League Two play-off final at Wembley last month (Getty Images) AFC Wimbledon open their return to League One with a tough trip to relegated Luton. Johnnie Jackson led the Dons back to the third division after a narrow 1-0 play-off final win over Walsall, where Myles Hippolyte scored the decisive goal on the stroke of half-time at Wembley. Advertisement Wimbledon were relegated from League One back in 2022 after a dismal campaign under Mark Robinson did not improve with the hiring of Mark Bowen, who could not guide them away from the drop. The Wombles' inconsistencies last year cost them an automatic promotion place, but they came into their own in the play-offs, beating Notts County 1-0 home and away in the semi-finals, before beating the Saddlers by the same scoreline a week later. Jackson has lost several key figures from that promotion campaign, with first-choice wing-backs James Tilley and Josh Neufville departing on free transfers for Wycombe and Bradford respectively, while Owen Goodman's loan deal from Crystal Palace does not look like it will be extended.
