Cork v Dublin: What time, what channel and all you need to know about the All-Ireland SHC semi-final

Cork fans have been eagerly awaiting this fixture for what may feel like an eternity by now and after their incredible display against Limerick, Dublin fans may feel they have been waiting just as long. It's All-Ireland Senior Hurling Championship semi-final weekend this weekend in the capital. It's usually one of the best weekends in the sporting calendar. And this weekend may be no different as the day before Tipperary take on Kilkenny, there is the small matter of Cork against Dublin. The rivalry between the two counties is often saved for football or soccer but this weekend it is hurling where the two old foes will go head-to-head, just as they did in last year's quarter-finals, when Cork emerged victorious in Thurles. For Cork, they will be looking to move one step closer to ending a 20-year wait to get their hands back on the Liam MacCarthy Cup. As for Dublin, after defying all the odds last time out, they may feel they will hardly have a better opportunity to make history in hurling than this year. Revenge against the Rebels would also be nice, surely. So all that said, it promises to be another exciting watch and here is all you need to know ahead of throw-in. Where and when is it on? The game will take place on Saturday July 5 at Croke Park with a 5pm throw-in. Where can I watch the game? The match will be shown live on RTÉ2 with the coverage starting at 2.15pm as the match will be preceded by the Camogie quarter-final between Waterford and Clare. Who's the referee? Johnny Murphy will be the man in the middle for the game. Read More Johnny Murphy will referee Cork v Dublin semi-final What can I read about and listen to on Our reporters will be building up to the semi-final throughout the weekend and previewing the game ahead of Saturday's throw-in. But here is some early team news as Séamus Harnedy will miss Saturday's All-Ireland SHC semi-final against Dublin. Seánie McGrath believes that Dublin hurling rues their defeat to Cork in 2013, they that they are once again a dangerous beast. The statistic is Cork haven't won an All-Ireland semi-final as Munster champions on the last three occasions but Niall O'Leary is dismissing that record as the past. And finally Anthony Daly, TJ Ryan, Mark Landers and Brian Hogan preview the All-Ireland semi-finals on Dalo's Hurling show.

Johnny Murphy will referee Cork v Dublin semi-final

Last year's All-Ireland SHC referee Johnny Murphy will take charge of Saturday week's All-Ireland semi-final between Cork and Dublin. Wexford's James Owens has been given the duty of the Kilkenny-Tipperary semi-final on Sunday week. Murphy was the man in the middle for Cork's comprehensive win over Tipperary in April as well as their final provincial round victory over Waterford last month. He also officiated Dublin's Leinster SHC meeting with Offaly. Owens, who deputised for injured Thomas Walsh in the extra-time of the Munster final earlier this month, sent off Richie Hogan in the 2019 All-Ireland final when Tipperary prevailed against Kilkenny. Early indications would appear Galway's Liam Gordon is in the frame for the All-Ireland final appointment on July 20 and Waterford man Walsh's last game in charge in this championship was the Munster final. The Munster final has been an unfortunate assignment for referees in recent years with a number of them not being requested to take charge of latter championship fixtures.

Brian Gavin: Dubs' defeat of Limerick took a lot of refereeing

As a referee, if you had the choice of All-Ireland quarter-final on Saturday, you would probably have picked Dublin-Limerick. It was all set up to be the handier to officiate of the two games. Quarter-final referees are often in the shake-up for the final. The last three final referees – Johnny Murphy, John Keenan and Colm Lyons – were on quarter-final duty weeks beforehand. In the past 16 years only Fergal Horgan in 2020 and '21 and James Owens in '18 have done both a semi-final and final. This is exclusive subscriber content. Already a subscriber? Davy Fitzgerald handed 'misconduct' ban after comments made about officials

Antrim hurling's woes have intensified with an eight-week suspension handed to manager Davy Fitzgerald. After a demoralising loss to Offaly in Tullamore last Saturday, the Saffrons were relegated from Liam MacCarthy Cup contention and are destined for the Joe McDonagh Cup in 2026. Antrim lost all five of their Leinster SHC games in 2025, but Fitzgerald landed himself in hot water with the GAA's disciplinary bodies for remarks made following their round four loss to Galway earlier this month. Antrim felt hard done by due to a red card given to Loughgiel's Declan McCloskey, prompting Fitzgerald to level harsh words at the match officials after the hefty defeat in Pearse Stadium. "It was Johnny Murphy that seen it and Johnny Murphy now wouldn't have any time for me anyway number one - that's out there," the Clare-born mentor exclaimed, reports Belfast Live. "Everybody knows that himself and one or two more of them, they actually despise me and that's fine, I can get over that." Fitzgerald was cited for the lesser-known charge of misconduct considered to have discredited the association and he requested a hearing, which took place on Thursday night. The GAA's Central Hearing Committee (CHC) concluded the offence was valid, subsequently sanctioning the Clare man with an eight-week ban. Fitzgerald retains the right to contest this decision and, if pushed, could take his case to the Disputes Resolution Authority (DRA) once he's exhausted all internal GAA appeal options. With Antrim's season wrapped up, the question lingers whether Fitzgerald will return to the fray next year. After the recent defeat to Offaly, he emphasised his need for "a bit of time" before deciding on another term with the Saffrons. He took the helm last year on a two-year contract, with a third year being an option.
